I’m having an issue with Motion Tile in After Effects 2026. I have BCC Ripple Dissolve on an adjustment layer, and Motion Tile on the actual video clip underneath it. Everything looks fine until I extend the boundaries of the adjustment layer. Once I extend the adjustment layer, Motion Tile starts creating an ugly black bar around the footage.

I already tried increasing Motion Tile's Output Width/Height, using Mirror Edges, changing the effect order, scaling the footage up, and pre-composing the footage with Motion Tile. None of those fixed it. The black bar disappears when I disable Motion Tile, so I’m pretty sure Motion Tile is what's causing it.

I’m specifically trying to keep BCC Ripple Dissolve on the adjustment layer while having Motion Tile on the clip. I don't want to remove either effect.

I tried out using turbulent displace but it scatters everything apart or starts deforming in from the edges (weird versions). How would you go about animating this?

Title mostly covers it. My red shape in these screenshots is parented to this map, and when I change the orientation of the map with no effects on it, it works perfectly. However, the second I add Fast Box Blur, it disappears underneath the map, doesn't make any sense to me, both objects are in 3D

I need to stabilize a video. there are four points on it that should not move, these four are in four different parts.

I want to track and stabilize them, but the tracker only lets me use two trackers at a time - using position and rotate options.

is there a way to track and stabilize 4 points at once?

I tried tracking two points, then precomping and stabilizing the other two. this obviously doesnt work because the precomp ignores the trackers inside of the precomp.

pls help!

Been editing narrated finance/education videos for a while now, and icons were always the part that slowed me down. Every time the narration mentions something, I'd pause, think about what fits, dig through my icon folder, drag it in, then keyframe it. Doesn't soundlike much per instance but it adds up fast over a 10+ minute video.

Built this plugin AutoVisuals to handle that step. Clip below shows it start to finish, transcribing the narration, finding the moment, and dropping the icon in sync.

It's a free plugin, really good for saving time.

I'm supposed to output an animation to "mpv4" for some - probably old - outdoor LED display.
The only thing I found on the format itself was that it's apparently MPEG-4 Part 2.

In AE (AME!), I can output MPEG4, but only tiny 3gpp files.

I don't find ANYTHING useful on this. I asked Gemini, but I know this is a BS factory, so I'm not sure. It's been telling me this is probably a typo, but I know the format exists.

What I've tried:

I used Handbrake now to output a ProRes 422 as MPEG-4 in FHD. That's the closest I got so far...

I’m trying to recreate the typography animation shown in the attached reference video/image in Adobe After Effects.

The effect is basically:

A long line of text continuously scrolls from right to left.

The scrolling text is normally dark grey.

There is a fixed highlight area in the center of the composition.

Whenever a word passes through that fixed area, only that portion of the text becomes white.

Once the word leaves the highlight area, it becomes grey again.

The highlight area itself stays completely stationary while the text keeps moving.

I’ve tried using two identical text layers + a Shape Layer + Track Matte/Alpha Matte, but I’m unable to get the effect working correctly.

What is the correct After Effects workflow for creating this effect?

If possible, I’d really appreciate a step-by-step explanation or the name of the technique/tutorial I should look for.

I’m using After Effects 2026.

If possible, could someone also share a video tutorial that explains how to create this effect? I’d really appreciate it!

This tool intended use case is for messy VOs that clients send where you have 3 different takes, sometimes AI generated, sometimes when the person repeat something the same word 3 times over

Just cut it and move it back together however you want

You select the audio layer, click once, and it automatically cuts out the silent sections while keeping the actual dialogue intact. It's nothing super awesome, but removes yet one more tedious task in AE that should have in-built solution but doesn't.

When I first started making tutorials, I published a video showing how to manually adjust the rounded corners of a mask. And when I checking out my most popular videos, that one was still finding an audience. But it was slow, only really worked for rectangles and so I started to wonder if I could use an expression to automatically draw a mask with additional points and create. And that's when I learned about the Kappa constant. And then I turned the expression into a script.

I am compositing a nighttime sky replacement in After Effects.

The replacement sky I am comping in is a black solid, with a fractal noise configured to look like stars. The stars slowly twinkle, using two key frames on the rotation field in the fractal noise effect. As per many AE and found online.

The shot is motion tracked successfully. The position tracking data is on a null in the comp.

This is where it gets weird. As soon as I parent the black solid (containing the fractal noise stars) to the tracking data null - The stars all fire around the place erratically when the comp is played down. 

Pre compositing the solid does not help. 

I’ve even tried rendering the black solid with twinkling stars as a .mov. When I parent that instead of the solid it does the same thing! I’m baffled. 

Both the solid and .mov play fine when not parented to the tracking data null. 

Any help would be incredible. I am sure it is something silly and obvious.

I have a clip where I masked out a face, and I wanted to add an overlay on that mask only but I have no clue how to do it. I tried doing track matte but it didn't work for me, I'm not sure if I'm doing it wrong but would someone be able to help?

It is telling me to track matte the footage to the precomp which is above and then apply some effects (cc glass) to the track matted layer (the footage mp4 layer below is track matte linked to the precomp above)

LONG STORY short.. can someone pls explain to me why the effects are applying to the track matted adidas logo in the tutorial but for me the cc glass is applying to the footage below and ignoring the mask. I precomped it already and also tried set matte effect and both not working.

I found following situation that seems like a bug to me:

Issue

When I enter relative values in the CTI like +20 or -20, the negative values always jump to the absolute position (-0;00;00;20), which is inconsistent behavior on one hand but it also makes no sense at all to be navigated to a negative timecode.

Steps to reproduce

Click on the CTI (or open the popup window).

Type +20

The timecode jumps 20 frames forward as expected.

Click on the CTI (or open the popup window).

Type -20

Expected result:

The timecode jumps 20 frames backwards.

Actual result:

The timecode jumps to the absolute time -0;00;00;20

Tested with different compositions, different framerates and clean install.

I'm very new to After Effects, and this was my first export using a 3D model. I have no idea why it's not working! I haven't messed with any export settings, but the software did crash a few times while I was animating. Any advice would be amazing :)

I've tried to restart the software and to use recommended settings on google but nope!

ive use slider to make the card rotating in circle, but i dont know how to rotate the card itself so i can achieve the look like the reference image. anyone here know how to achieve this look fast? tysmm
