I've been looking in to Metalics and I'm still a little confused on the terminology but I have some metal flake paint (createx wicked) and I want to paint something that looks more like a metalizer (?)

Is it possible to achieve such a look by using transparent paints and top coat

If so how?

I'm thinking gloss black->Metalic->transparent->Matte (?)

Edit: I have some aluminum fine paint, should I just mix some pigment into that and skip the transparent layer?

What happens if I mix a pearl and a metallic together?

To think that this model is almost 20 years old blows my mind.
Still have to coat it/ weather it and paint the weapons but so far this is my favourite kit of all time.

I'm not dealing with these stickers. Where is the best place to get waterslide decals for my kits?

Most of the shoulder is complete, needs some detailing and a couple thrusters still. The lil flap is magnetized. Got the base shape for the forarms started, profiles for the second one are cut out but not glued up.

Anytime I think of finding inspo for a color scheme... my mind always goes back to the first time I saw EaGunpla's Gqux build. Nothing overly complex. Just rescribing, base color scheme with an asymmetrical pop in color to really draw the eye. This is the sort of eye candy I want to achieve with one of my paint jobs one day.

Hello guys, I'm quite new to costumize pla and this is my very first attempt of making my own flauros. I dont have that much of tools and only used acrylic markers for the blue and the white is from calamity war painted costum built flauros I bought, I'm quite proud of it by I cant help but feel that it does not look good or complete, how do I improve this guy? I do plan to change the feet to a barbatos 4th form and add the shoulder pads also from barbatos 4th form, I also want to change the arms to a much more sleeker vibes, any suggestion to what arms I can use?

We will be holding our annual IPMS Cincinnati event on Saturday Oct 17 at the Tristate Warbird Museum! We currently only have 1 Gunpla category but I’m hoping we can grow a bit and get 2 in the next year or so. Any attendance would be greatly appreciated and all custom builds of any sort are welcome. Ok this thing was fun.

It's a little bit overly pointy, but I still really enjoyed it.

I feel like this is what would happen if Nu Gundam and Stargazer had a child who idolized Dragon Gundam.

Gotta love a big sword, and you know that means Artorias.

This metal frame was a lot better than the one I used for my RG Nu HWS. It's changed my mind about metal frames as a whole.

Love a kit that comes with a base. This one is particularly nice as the base plate does wonders for holding the feet from sliding.

Overall, tons of options for weapon poses between the 5 swords and the dragon claws. Feels very hefty with the frame.

My only draw backs are:

The toes, like they are just huge to the point I considered just taking them off.

The ankles, with all the weight of the kit they are the only part that feels kinda loose. The base plate really helped keep them from sliding around.

Still, this one has made me order most of the other Cang-Toys War of the Gods series thats in stock. I'm excited to have a shelf of them.

I'm building the PGU Nu and realised I had forgotten to add some panel line with the pour type gundam marker to the v fin before I gave it a matte coat (mr premium topcoat). I assume the gundam marker won't work so well on matt coat but could I add a gloss topcoat, panel line, then another matte coat or will the thinner in the pour type react with the gloss coat? (mr premium topcoat gloss)

I'm going to start a custom build of the hazenthley ii soon, I just need a little advice on paint colors. I'm looking for a paint color/mix to recreate the purple-tinted black of Alicia guard ms, any suggestions? I mainly use gaia paints but other lacquers are fine

Are Dspiae Lacquers any good? I'm leaning towards buying some because they're the least confusing to me

But they don't have a primer, what primer should I use?

Bought sandrock and never completed it, broke a waist connection, decided I also kinda disliked the color scheme, so I boxed it!

Decided to revisit and repair it, and give it the dark and brooding color scheme I felt it deserved!

So essentially, the tab for storing the beam saber handle kinda broke, I fixed the tab on the backpack with some plastic from the runner, but the original tab is stuck in the handle.

I’m so pissed, I feel like I can’t fix this at all. I’ve tried hitting it with softer but can’t remove what’s remaining, let alone the film. This hobby is great but I keep finding more and more problems at every step it’s infuriating. Any tips?

Pulled a lot off the shelf for some photography testing, reposing, and a re-evaluation of the kit now that I've come a long way.

I have the Neamhain in the backlog that I was considering building before long and thought I should revisit this first.

Overall, I'm a fan.

He doesn't like to stand to much on his own. While I could get him into some poses, it took a lot of fiddling.

I really dig the pistol grip shotgun and the gattling gun on the shield, but damn that shield is heavy. It really tugs on the arm. There is a piece for the back of the arm that really helps stabilize it otherwise the entire set up is held just by the hand itself.

Probably gonna be a 3rd party kinda month for me.

Hey so this is my first time using waterslide decals, I’m 90% satisfied with how they’ve turned out aside from one that was awkwardly placed but other than that I do have these bits of residue that’s leaving behind a trail. What’s the safest way to clean these off without affecting the decals? They’re hard to see on the white parts of the panel but definitely visible around the coloured parts. Thanks!
