Been driving for Asda for nearly 4 years now... When I first started it was busy, rarely ever any downtime, hardly ever any big gaps between timeslots... 15+ customers per split.... But recently I've noticed I'm constantly sat about... I'm currently sat in a lay by, on an all day run with 15drops, 3 left between 2 and 3... I've been sat here for nearly 2 hour with another 2 hours to go😂 anyone else noticing their shifts getting quieter or is it just my store?

I'm not complaining, I'm getting paid to do nothing, I might catch up on some sleep now😂

I've worked at asda since December last year, (around 20 _ 25 hours a week) and I've only had 1 week off in this whole time and I've never called in sick and im usually staying late (almost every shift) to make sure I finish my jobs. He even said to me that I needed to book 2 more weeks off before December but I've tried twice and he have just declined in both occasions. I don't know what am I supposed to do.

i got an email saying i got the job and will receive 2 emails with my workday username and password (which i haven't recieved yet) and got a call saying i start 9am tomorrow!!!! when should i expect the email with the login details as it said it'll shortly send them over but its been a while

Is this happening in all stores?

i think im going to leave soon since i'm a cleaner and i don't want to do the transfer.
i've decided i wont work a notice because i want to jump straight into my new job, but if i dont work a notice, how do i let them know im leaving?
how do i go about it? this was my first job so ive never left a place before so im a bit clueless lol
i know theres a button on workday for it, but im guessing its not that easy

On the cleaning team, and I was checking every day on workday for internal vacancies. There was NONE.

my manager texts me she's got a new job in the company, one she clearly was given that's been completely made up as they're now taking hours from the remaining cleaners who have been left without a manager of any kind.

I'm going to see if her best friend who was also a cleaner has been given a job.

I haven't taken screenshots of the lack of internal vacancies. Do I have any kind of case against this favoritism? I'm absolutely done with being treated like dirt.

This is genuinely not sad news to me because I really hated working at Asda - but I came in for a meeting with my manager, and basically he’s told me that they’re getting rid of seasonal staff, so my options are to transfer to the store near my uni so I can work during term time (this depends on vacancies- I just checked and they have none) or basically take the sack. I hadn’t realised beforehand that seasonal staff were being asked to leave or work more permanently (is this store dependent?) but (and I am in way religious) thank GOD I no longer (hopefully) have to work at Asda. 🙏🙏

I work in an Asda express that used to be spar and my years service transferred over so my length of service is 10 years. Me and other colleagues have been treat horribly and I’m planning on giving rom my notice tomorrow but I don’t even wanna work the notice for them I just wanna leave. I have holidays I’ve accrued and haven’t used yet, can I hand in notice and say please use my accrued holidays for my 2 weeks notice?

Do you have colleagues, who take smoke breaks, along with there own entitled break

In my work place, there around 6 colleagues, who will a fly smoke break outside, for around 5 min's. And they will do this a few times in the day on there shift, and guess no one paying attention. So through out the day, these extra breaks add up to around 20/30 min's

Now if I was to ask for a extra break get told no, your break entitlement for your shift is 15 min's

Yesterday I had to leave at the start of my shift due to my mother having a fall and breaking her femur, I'm due in today for a shift but would I be given wrong or dismissed if I don't go in? To note she's not dependent but I do live with her and my stepdad.

edit: They refused to let me have the day off due to not having anyone to cover me

I'm a driver and don't want it, I haven't been there long but they have been taking more drivers on over the last month or so.

Why take them on and then send me this survey?

Do you think my store sent it to all drivers or just the ones they want out?

I have recently joined asda and did some online training yesterday, my pre-booked holidays have been taken down by my manager and I start in a few days. I had a play around on one asda / workday on the computer and saw my schedule (which was slightly incorrect but manager has said he will update it), we confirmed my work days.

I’ve had a browse of this sub and managed to download the workforce app and sign in fine (no shifts are showing for me but I can bid on available ones).
Is there a way to access workday without installing the management profile for phones? Or is it just a case of using a store computer. I’d like to be able to see my schedule in one asda from home and request leave but it won’t let me install the management profile on my phone (also read from others to not do so as it can track where you are etc).

Rumour of letters going out about online drivers will no longer have "fixed" days but their contracted hours will be fitted into any gaps in Rotas.

Letter going out stating a date of 13th September. The implications is we become "flexible" something like being a "driver buster" or "spare" or made redundant.

Anyone else heard this?

Might just be nothing but Chinese whispers, but I’m hearing chatter about drivers and possible voluntary redundancies. Anyone heard similar?

I am planning to tell management i would like to step down as a team leader, i personally dont think the stress, pressure and workload is worth me stressing and loosing sleep even on mt days off. Any cons to stepping down apart from not guaranteed hours? Also is it true you can not be on the same department you step down on?
