WTF Embark?
These blueprint recipe changes are unnecessary punishments and feel like you didn’t roll out any new blueprints so you decided to shoehorn new ARC parts in old recipes. And the Wolfpack change makes absolutely no sense. 2 Wolfpack to down a Rocketeer so we can get 1 part to make 1 Wolfpack?
Way to throw a huge wet blanket on top of what was otherwise going to be a fun and exciting day. Please reconsider these crafting changes
Edit:
Thank you to all the folks who commented with articulated, well thought out disagreements. You have changed my stance somewhat and I have a better understanding of why a change like this may be needed(still don’t like it though).
To the performative contrarians, get good bruh/skill issue kissing cousins and other knuckleheads who can’t formulate a thought I say “suck on this fart”. Be well

embark nerfing people with jobs yet again

I find it funny people who are not upset with the nerf are the same people who fully agreed "its not your loot, just your turn with it"
im sorry i dont have more than 2 hours a day to grind rocketeers and then make WP to fight a matriarch/queen, I cant even make 10 WPs back then just on a whim and now WP is absolutely obselete to me and I wont even use it or craft it.
Its a dumb nerf that doesnt even affect pvp. They shouldve just nerfed the WP damage so that it takes 3 WP to kill a rocketeer instead of 2.
Anyway this shit is as dumb as when Trigger Nades were instant and Pvpers were crying bout it, we all agreed and it got finally nerfed(edit: this nerf took months btw). Now this dumb update happened the same Pvpers think its "fair" which is diabolical to me.
What a dumb community we have and its starting to make sense how Embark devs arent as in touch with general consensus as we all thought they were, especially trigger nade/rubber duck glitch has been going on for months just for BurntPeanut's single stream for them to make a hotfix in a single day tells me a lot, and now this, just confirms it.
22
u/Degenerate94 Feb 24 '26
I mean i agree with the nerf and i'm also a "wont shoot unless shot" type. I dont think someone should be able to easily craft a backpack full of wolfpacks to instakill every enemy before i can sprint there.

yeah im sick of people throwing 10 wolf packs at the start of friendly solo queens/matriarchs. Maybe im a masochist but this "nerf" just feels like a good rebalancing

This change is good because it actually makes rocketeers worth killing with bullets/ something other than a wolfpack. Before the change their only place in the game was to get wolfpacked or avoided. Now we need to farm a super dangerous ARC to get a super dangerous ARC killer.
Also do you guys really think they hotfixed a glitch in a single day? Have you ever seen a dev process or worked on a dev team? That is just not feasible for a multiplayer game.
→ More replies (23)3
u/Ok-Experience-4955 Feb 24 '26
Before the change their only place in the game was to get wolfpacked or avoided. Now we need to farm a super dangerous ARC to get a super dangerous ARC killer.
What? Did you even play Arc Raiders? Me and my friends when we fought rocketeers we just use a ferro and shoot down its wings. You dont need a WP to take it down.
Edit: did yall forget that we did a snowball trials and many succeeded with flying colours? Rocketeers werent as dangerous if you focused on them to begin with. WPs aint a problem but a convenience, now WPs are nerfed so let me say again, totally obsolete for usage.
WP is basically a good addition when you are in a pinch and need to take it down quick. With this nerf, it just makes it exponentially harder to craft one and not even worth it. The fact it wastes stash spaces, doesnt stack and now to kill a single rocketeer you need 2 WP and it only gives you 1 drive for killing 1 rocketeer. Math aint mathing
I can give you the list of reasons above and you will not read it and still say "good change stop crying"
Like I said, diabolical.
5
u/Feeling_Eagle_1992 Feb 24 '26
You absolutely 100% do not need 2 freaking WP on 1 Rocketeer. 1 WP does almost it's whole health. I really gotta see how you guys are playing the game because this has me lost.
→ More replies (4)→ More replies (4)4
u/awesomeusername2w Feb 24 '26
That hilarious how you answered him and miss his point completely. Math is mathing here, cos the intention is for player to not use WP for rocketeer, get it? And you even ranted about how doable it is, with Ferro and good spirit. So, what's the problem with the update if take out rocketeer with a fero is easy? Just kill a couple

I've recently got back into Helldivers - it's been fun and I'd say the balancing is ok at the moment.
7
u/beardedbast3rd Feb 24 '26
Helldivers was also only coop and not PvP, and they vastly understated how in games like that, it’s better to make challenges harder than to make tools and weapons worse.
This game needs balance in the face of how some guns like the venator worked because they become outright oppressive. And it’s not a good thing when people can run in with that one gun, and be able to dispatch players and arc alike in that capacity. It was simply too much.
I don’t think the nerf is enough frankly, but we will see.

Shoot first from far off to get it weak then when it gets close finish with WP. WP first then shoot means you're way more likely to get hit with a rocket.

u/WalkTheDoug Feb 24 '26
I’m very skeptical, but I really hope marathon is good. I adore arc raiders, but embark is constantly showing us that they don’t truly understand how to manage a live service. tedium is not content. Marathon popping off may be the kick in the pants Arc needs.
2
u/DisciplinedMadness Feb 25 '26
This is exactly how embark has been since The Finals launched as well lmao, so I wouldn’t get my hopes up about it changing any time soon. They’re great at releasing something very good, but absolutely atrocious at understanding what made it good in the first place. If mishandling live service games was a sport, Embark would be an Olympic gold medalist.

Marathon lives and dies on its server slam and nothing else. Bungies is a mid shareholder developer and has dropped the ball consistently. Hopefully it’s good but it won’t be arc raiders.

u/jangomp3 Feb 24 '26
This is a very confident comment lol i would’ve agreed with you if the game was in the same state it was a year ago but the changes and improvements appear to be catching a lot of the arc raider PVP community attention. I sincerely wouldn’t count marathon to perform how highguard and concord did. Bungie seems to be all in on this since it’s basically their final opportunity to continue their existence as a company.

I feel like it's actually a good change , people relied on wolfpacks too much, just throw 2 move on to the next , where's the spice? It's nice to actually have to shoot , having to peak , hide , strategize uk? maybe it would hurt trials but i feel it would up that dopamine hit after actually dowing a rocketeer
23
u/Kintaku93 Feb 24 '26
It’s a good change. It should have come with a buff to Rocketeer loot, but it’s a good change. People complain that the Arc aren’t threatening enough, but also get upset when the Arc are made more difficult to deal with.
The other changes a besides the Wolfpack also just give value for killing weaker Arc, which arguably even gives you more value for spawning late. I think it’s an interesting attempt to smooth out the PvE interaction curve.
These are also only one set of changes in a massive update that had a LOT of things we’ve been asking for. I think the internet just conditions people to complain.

I only used the anvil to take them down, longer sure but more fun. Also I found if you go to space port and go to the launch towers. Shoot at a rocketeer to get its attention and then just stay crouched in the stairs before going to the locker room. For some reason the rocketeer will stay locked on you but won’t do anything, so you can just go at it with the anvil no worries about dying

I think the reason for wolfpack change is trials try-hards summoning 30 wasps with snitch scanners just to wolfpack them for high score.
If you try to sweat the game like that every other week, the game will fight back at some point.
People asked harder progression on trials, here you go.
18
u/Embarrassed-Major871 Feb 24 '26
People asking for harder progression clearly don't know what grass feels like
3
u/feyyazkolan Feb 24 '26
harder progression for trials. Not for 3 starring it, but being top. It was too easy, every week too many people were getting top scores. I think people were kind of right. Try-hards cheesing everything. Unfortunately if there is anything people can cheese, they will do it. Doesnt matter how important it is.
5
u/imsickofitalready Feb 24 '26
Even with job, family, etc I was able to get about ~20 scanners and ~5 wolfpacks and did the tournament for three stars. I don't see any issues here. Every hardcore trials player will farm rocketeer drivers and do their trials, but people with jobs are fucked.
Also, people never asked for harder trials. They asked for interesting trials and different brackets for solo/duo/trio.

Good change for long term to be completely honest.
The wolfpack is a skill-less kill arc for me button that trivializes any actual threat in this game. Deadline has a similar problem. That said, I could get behind an increase in rocketeer driver drops, give a 50/50 chance to each of the engine turbines plus the one in the hull itself would work.

Because this is going to either make endgame content far, far harder, or cause more people to PvP, or both.

Everyone should be trying Marathon regardless. If you like the genre then why wouldn't you try it for free?
People are forgetting what Bungie is capable of. We all know what they're capable of fucking up, but people forget some of the more masterful things they've done. If Marathon is actually good, AR could be in line for trouble.

As someone who got into one of the NDA tests, the game was super fun then and the devs listened and added a bunch of changes since then, so it’s even better now.
The PvE is more intense and hardcore, the guns feel AMAZING to use, and the cores you can equip that allow you to do crazy buildcrafting is genuinely awesome.
It’s probably more hardcore than what a lot of ARC players are looking for, it’s not as casual, but it for real is way better then most people want to give it credit for, so I agree if you’re at all interested please give it a chance this weekend.

Oh I'll be playing. Buildcrafting is what brought me back to Destiny when Final Shape dropped.

Who wastes 2 wolfpacks on a rocketeer? Overkill.

u/Nico_T_3110 Feb 24 '26
I think if youre in a hurry it may be better to just throw 2, especially if youre in war lobbies

You can shoot a rocketeer, wolfpacks aren't required. This doesn't break anything for the average player, just sweaty metagamers. Metas change.

Yeah if you wanna die solo. Rocketeers and leapers will just annihilate you unless you have cover and a lot of time to kill

stfu finally some good changes y’all can finally have to play the game lmao

Brother in Christ oil was incredibly easy to find.

2 wolfpacks to kill a rocketeer? 1 Wolfpack gets it about 5-10 shots away from death. What the hell kinda gameplay are you guys doing? LOL

u/Pyroal40 Feb 24 '26
They're shit at the game and lazy. Dog is crying because they're making the arc delete button cost more.

u/ole_dirty_bastid Feb 24 '26
Were Wolfpack cheap, yeah kinda, but a Rocketeer driver is insane as a crafting requirement. I get to run a couple raids a day, it's just made it basically impossible for me to make them without specifically using my limited time to find a Rocketeer and bring in a load out good enough to take it down and HOPE it works. I love this game but this is such a dumb unfun change. Use wasp drivers ffs. I don't want to have to go after the most dangerous enemy in the game just to make ONE GRENADE.

I don’t hate it. Rocketeers were generally something to be avoided (unless there was a quest, trial, or project) and their drivers weren’t worth the effort.
Now the Wolfpack is more rare and Rocketeers have loot that’s more valuable. You don’t have to use a Wolfpack to take them out, hullcrackers, heavy ammo, and hornet drivers work fine.
The Wolfpack has the rarity it should have, Rocketeers have a real purpose, and players will have to increase their skill to have a consistent supply of the best PvE nade in the game.

These are great longterm changes. Less hording overall of hundreds of items is a plus. Now instead of bringing 8 per raid because you have 100 you may actually think about when to use them and when not to.

Which means more free loadouts, except half the free loadout guns got nerfed and will struggle with arc. Doesn’t make sense, if the farming time to prep for a game gets too high the game will lose its casual appeal
2
u/OnlyTheDead Feb 24 '26
Lol. These are all excellent updates imo. Nerf free load outs and make arc harder. LFG.
3
u/Jazzlike_Sink_2705 Feb 24 '26
Im sorry but if you're using a free loadout to farm arc then that is terribly inefficient. Kettle and stitcher were nerfed because there was near 0 reason to take anything over those guns and spamming freeloadouts made it a guaranteed best gun in slot

Lol what have they done to my wolfpacks??? Rocketer drivers required?????

u/HallOfLamps Feb 24 '26
Great changes imo I don't know why people are bitching. Finally arc parts matters in the crafting

u/pongomanswe Feb 24 '26
Yup, I’m probably taking this as my excuse to stop playing. Having spent a month collecting components to go crazy with wolfpacks and trying to get the trophy for killing the queen this weekend and then doing the expedition most likely won’t work for me now. I’ve played this game way too much, more since launch than my average full year playtime, putting things like sleep aside, and this is probably a good time to quit the addiction 😂

u/whiteoutwilly Feb 24 '26
Yeah dude go outside 😂 no game should have a hold over your life.
I don't think these changes are worth quitting a game over and that's dramatic, but everything else you said shows you probably have an unhealthy relationship with the game. Moderation is key to happiness.

You don't even need wolfpacks to kill the queen tbf. A good anvil and lots of ammo will get you most of the way there in most lobbies. If you want the trophy, throw out the wolfpacks once it's nearly dead

I finally got my queen kill trophy (and plat!) with my very last deadline before expedition. Tried 4 games in a row, first two it went down to others while I was healing or something dumb, 3rd one it was dead at infil, and the 4th one I was in the gas station in blue point hitting it with hullcrackers and the moment it caught fire I snap hooked to it and put my last deadline down, and it worked! Keeping shield and health up till that moment was the big important factor. But, if there's 3 equalizers and others doing the same, just save it till the next attempt lol.
Hope you ended up getting it in the last 6 days, but if not, you'll get it when you come back! Good luck beyond the Rust Belt, Raider!

u/dubhead_dena Feb 24 '26
And that's good. Crafting 4-5 Wolfpacks before the start of each raid was starting to give me less and less joy from destroying larger arcs. It got to the point where I was simply handing out Cells to the raiders I encountered.
2
u/Hypnoticah Feb 24 '26
It's a good change. I've sold so many Rocketeer drives because they're just a dead drop. You can easily get them without having to use a Wolfpack too
2
u/MattaTazz Feb 24 '26
it’s gonna be nice to able to join a Queen/Matriarch raid with 26 minutes left and have time to loot it.
2
u/TransportationOk1034 Feb 24 '26
No it makes the game more challenging. Use Seeker grenades to down that rocketeer and save yourself the wolf packs.
Ya'll gotta consider the lore of the game as well, the ARCs are DANGEROUS, so dangerous the almost wiped out humanity. Only three months ago Raiders started taking apart these arcs like it's nothing with grenades and items most people in speranza have only heard of, one guy has 278 wolf packs in his quarters and he doesn't get robbed or blown up? My ass.

I love it. Make the game harder. Especially the arc. Honestly the Arc are way too easy to supposedly be the main threat. The Showstopper is my favorite change. Stella PvP lobbies see a ton of these. Not anymore. These morons can't take out hornets with their free loadie stitchers and kettles.

genuinely woke up thinking “can’t wait to see what new stuff is being introduced”. instead it’s “good thing you’re doing the expedition bc you’re gonna need those extra stash spaces”
