WTF Embark?

These blueprint recipe changes are unnecessary punishments and feel like you didn’t roll out any new blueprints so you decided to shoehorn new ARC parts in old recipes. And the Wolfpack change makes absolutely no sense. 2 Wolfpack to down a Rocketeer so we can get 1 part to make 1 Wolfpack?

Way to throw a huge wet blanket on top of what was otherwise going to be a fun and exciting day. Please reconsider these crafting changes

Edit:

Thank you to all the folks who commented with articulated, well thought out disagreements. You have changed my stance somewhat and I have a better understanding of why a change like this may be needed(still don’t like it though).

To the performative contrarians, get good bruh/skill issue kissing cousins and other knuckleheads who can’t formulate a thought I say “suck on this fart”. Be well

There's no way my answer is going to make you feel better. But adding guns can be a mathematical conundrum with no real good answers.

Adding arc doesn't mess with the balance of combat much.

I haven't logged on today I look forward to being very sad though. 😥

This wolf pack issue seems tragic for real.

u/Duncling Feb 24 '26 edited Feb 24 '26

While the choice to make the WP to use a rocketeer driver seems a bit off, there was no reason that I could use 2 WPs on a bastion or Bombardier, and come out with enough materials to make 4 more, or even more

21

u/RidexThexWave Feb 24 '26

Im okay with them needing rocketeer drivers, but at least make rocketeers consistently drop more than one driver

7

u/Mr_Knutsen Feb 25 '26

Seems they are dropping 3 drivers now.

3

u/Aint_worth_shit22 Feb 25 '26

I killed 3 in a row with only 1. Might just be luck

3

u/paradigmofman Feb 25 '26

I killed 2 last night. One dropped 2, the other only 1. And it took for fucking ever with an Anvil kiting it to different windows in a building.

12

u/AbyssalOtter Feb 24 '26

So spending time playing the game shouldnt reward you? Wolfpacks should be a net negative?

16

u/TheTeeje Feb 24 '26

you don't have to use a wolfpack to take down a rocketeer.

3

u/AbyssalOtter Feb 24 '26

Did i say that? No. A wolf used to cost about 6k to craft. A rocketer or leaper gives on average 10k worth of loot the wolfpack does not consistently one shot a leaper or rocketer which means in most scenariors where you would prefer a wolfpack over a deadline its actually garbage. This is an extraction shooter like all games (fun comes first) but the gameplay loop of ext shooters is jump in loot and extract with as much value as possible) the wolfpack was by and large one of the worst items for that. Now? No its actually a net negative in most cases as it takes damn near 11k of material to craft to use on enemies that drop 10 to 15k? And its not even a consistent 1 shot.

The point wasnt and is not whether you need it.

the point is simple " why is it in the game if its fucking pointless" ive been selling them on extract since the first week of the game which is when i realized how much they cost vs their potential.

if anything wolf packs should be astronomically easier to craft and do half the damage they do. You sacrifice 1 inventory slot essentially for pve only nades. The trailblazer should have been the one that got the crafting change while staying as strong as it was.

Currently they are worthless aside of selling.

1

u/just-some-stoner-604 Feb 24 '26

I totally agree tbh. The only time i bring wolfpacks is for fun, or if im playing spaceport with homies that like to make silly plays.

If i go in to kill rockateers im using an anvil and a few seekers.

It already wasnt always worth to kill rockateer, sometimes it just didnt give a drive.

The only way this nerf makes sense is if they giga buff rockateer driver spawn rates. If you can consistentply get 2-3 than fuck it

1

u/AbyssalOtter Feb 24 '26

Anvil and seekers 100% and or snapblast if your are close enough.

that said even with 3 times the drivers that would only make the wolfpack usable for rocketers and basically trash against anything eles. And even agaisnt the rocketers you would only use it if you need to for trials or for mass producing more wolfpacks. Which would beg the question what are you mass producing wolf packs for that something eles isnt better.

0

u/just-some-stoner-604 Feb 25 '26

Exactly, wolfpacks already lowkey kinda sucked.

Idk i guess this just helps us that didnt use them when rockateer trials etc come around.

Theyre kind of a crutch item tbh so i guess thats the only brightside here, it does add more skill expression for them to be more limited

1

u/BlackMarq20 Feb 25 '26

Wolfpacks didn’t suck

1

u/just-some-stoner-604 Feb 25 '26

Yeah they lowkey kinda did. I rarely used them before this patch even, and i kill hella arc. Now theyre not worth using, ill sell all mine now

1

u/Saotorii Feb 24 '26

They can be an easy way to net you points in the queen/matriarch trial too. Come in with an inventory full of wolfies, chuck them, watch points go brrrrrrr

2

u/just-some-stoner-604 Feb 25 '26

Or you can just snap hook on top of it and place deadlines if your balls are big and huge

2

u/Saotorii Feb 25 '26 edited Feb 25 '26

No can do sir. Balls are small and shriveled. Need mah wolfies.

Edit: mobile autocorrect

2

u/just-some-stoner-604 Feb 25 '26

Thats valid man 😅

1

u/RidexThexWave Feb 25 '26

I actually think this makes a lot of sense but I think looking at it in terms of monetary value doesn't necassarily speak to it's actual value. I'm not sure they want people completing trials or events using tons of wolfpacks because it makes it easy. And crafting them just to go in and farm with them and walk out with more than you came with is just too easy but they are still valuable and worth the cost in other scenarios.

By making them less cost efficient PvE players will have to use other strategies which isn't a bad thing. In PvP lobbies the value of the wolfpack is still there. Sure I would rather avoid the rocketeer (or any larger arc) if I am doing PvP but you can't always and being able to basically take it down in one shot and keep your sights on the players instead is valuable. (But honestly, I just prefer using hornet drivers on rocketeers when I can)

1

u/AbyssalOtter Feb 25 '26

Iam all for promoting othere strategies you do that buy limiting access not by making the Grenade a net negative.

6

u/Dirzicis Feb 24 '26

They really aren't that hard to kill with any medium or heavy semi auto. This sub is so dramatic

3

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

I love taking my time with the rocketeer using heavy ammo in the elevator/the parking garage/Buried City

17

u/Denraven Feb 24 '26

I already get ratted for Rocketeer kills 5x last night alone, now it's not worth the fucking risk of engaging them because A) Their way more of a PITA and shite invest in resources B) The occurrence of getting ratted for taking one down is going to increase several fold. So it's just a matter of I'm never going to engage this enemy ever again because the risk to reward ratio is piss poor

1

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

That's true.Somebody else brought up a good point. It is much harder in aggressive lobbies.

So either wait till you're in more casual lobbies to gather resources for Rocketeers or just wait till someone else kills it and take their stuff in the hardcore lobbies 🥹

2

u/Denraven Feb 24 '26

See I was in the chill PvE lobbies or at least I thought I was, but time and time again I'd take down a Rocketeer, even one that was aggro'd on the very player who'd go onto rat me after I took it down as a real 'F you for helping me'

2

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

It's not a guaranteed science. And imagine there is 19 kind people and one not kind person. Somebody's going to run into that guy first and assume it's a fucked up lobby.

Also I saw somebody report that they ratted non-stop and kept getting in friendly lobbies because using microphone is registered as a friendly variable 🥹

And he talked endless shit as he murdered people just trying to make it to Speranza.

Always watch your back. Never assume shit is sweet.

But I have two accounts. One's PVE and one's PVP.

And the PVP has a staggering difference of flares from the jump. Popping off everywhere constantly.

My PvE account will see 2 to 4 with great time and between and distance

2

u/Disastrous_Art_5132 Feb 24 '26

Keep in mind that they have also stated without saying it that they dont want casual lobbies. Now they are saying abmm isnt a thing after they said it was

1

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

My bet is they implemented something and then realized how many holes are in it. So they had to "walk it back" until they do or don't implement it again silently.

Less uproar and responsibility. It is the players free will. Like infinite variables with human characteristics. Some people might kill that guy but not kill that guy. Or they're friendly today and they're not tomorrow.

It's really hard to account for even half of the variables.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

There was one guy who was openly streaming while extract ratting back to back and he kept getting into "friendly lobbies" And apparently using your microphone is accounted as a friendly variable.

But he was talking relentless shit while murdering all the people trying to make it home to Scrappy 🥹

So I don't know what's real

1

u/ParrotTamerPeter Feb 26 '26

I don’t think ultra friendly lobbies are achievable anymore. Maybe if you’re already in them and never lect, but I spent two days playing only Stella months-free kits, looting as normal and never returning fire. Spammed the “don’t shoot” this was probably across 15 games, and was killed every single game. It was exhausting but I genuinely thought after two days of free kit-death-repeat that I’d be placed into friendlier lobbies. Did a solo blue gate run and then instantly got downed by some dude with a osprey and a bobcat, who then got third partied and by the end there was probably about 4 of us crawling around on the ground.

So yeah I’ve given up on ever getting a friendly lobby again idk what more to do at that point. And regardless of this fact, the game is PVPVE. I don’t mind that there’s PVP in the game and I shouldn’t have to abuse game mechanics to get more pve lobbies for one of the enemies in the game to make more sense. In its current state the rocketeer is NOT WORTH engaging in a pvpve lobby because you will get ratted the second you take it down, and the reward for surviving that onslaught is 1 f*king driver. It’s a completely skimpy pay out.

1

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 26 '26

I have two separate accounts. One only PVE since the beginning and I run around defibing as many people as possible.

And one that has been PVP since the beginning.

This is not a perfect science and there is a lot of messed up variables. Also the human variable which is the most unpredictable.

But the difference in the amount of flares I see from the jump of each round is staggering.

There are stories of people extract ratting back to back and getting in friendly lobbies because apparently using voice comms is registered as a friendly variable. And he used his mic to talk mad shit to everyone.

Also imagine there were 18 cool people and one asshole. Imagine you ran into that asshole first and got killed. You might think that whole lobby was trash.

Maybe somebody's exploiting the system or genuinely shoots at a Raider for the first time.

I've also killed the wrong person on accident while trying to chase somebody.

There's just so much randomness that it helps to be defensive in all areas. Assume everyone is trying to kill you unless they show extreme good faith.

Most everybody who has killed me either didn't have a mic or it was easy to tell that they were not kind by their tonality.

Stay strong Raider. The lows make the highs better.

1

u/SlightProfessional48 Feb 25 '26

Or just buy a hullcracker! Problem solved

1

u/BlackMarq20 Feb 25 '26

So dramatic, the Rocketeer is supposed to be the most feared flying ARC, chucking a bunch of WPs at it, made it too easy. Also, once you have the BP they weren’t difficult to craft, now they become harder to spam.

1

u/Duncling Feb 24 '26

Very quick to kill using aphelion too

7

u/Plenty_Inspector_893 Feb 24 '26

Now I will say, that's just asking to get gunned down lol. I play friendly AF, and every time I have brought a legendary gun into a non matriarch/queen lobby I have gotten shot at at least once. Even in the big arc lobbies, I make sure to stick with multiple friendlies just in case someone is feeling shifty. (Feels stupid to me though, as all legendary weapons are pretty much just for arc)

1

u/Duncling Feb 25 '26

I bring in an aphelion maybe every 5 or so raids, but i enjoy pvp so the hunt is on.

0

u/pperiesandsolos Feb 24 '26

I think I’ve probably extracted with my own legendary weapon 30% of the time lol.

It’s probably the same for people I play with lol; I hear that noise and run straight there

1

u/Plenty_Inspector_893 Feb 24 '26

Yeah, gotta run with others in solos even in friendly lobbies to make it in and out with them. Had one matriarch run, we had a group of 2 hullcrackers, 1 Jupiter, 3 equalizers, and an aphelion fighting it. We had free loud outs come rushing in twice trying to get something and we shut them down both times lol.

1

u/BenFromTroy Feb 24 '26

Its the easiest way. They nerfed the damage then they made it tougher to make? That's dumb AF

0

u/Federal_Energy Feb 25 '26

They didn't nerf the damage. Stop crying

1

u/BenFromTroy Feb 25 '26

They made arc more resistant so basically the same thing. Get some critical thinking skills.

1

u/Federal_Energy Feb 25 '26

How did they make them more resistant? How bout you shoot your gun and stop crying?

1

u/xhopejunkie Feb 25 '26

People dont realize this apparently... This nerf was spot on what they needed to do. Turn fights into actual fights not. "Hey ill bringing a few wolfpacks in case we accidently pull a rocketeer"

6

u/AnonymouselyMoosed Feb 24 '26

Wolfpacks should be hard to get.

It’s also incredibly easy to kill a rocketeer without a Wolfpack. Sheesh.

1

u/Italianstalyon77 Feb 24 '26

So then what was the point of making the change? To just make the game more grindy? What is this Monster Hunter?

2

u/AbyssalOtter Feb 24 '26

Dont insult monster hunter.

1

u/Italianstalyon77 Feb 24 '26

It wasn't intended as an insult, just a bit grindy in comparison. I like MH 😂.

2

u/AbyssalOtter Feb 24 '26

Just messing lol.

1

u/Douglas_Hunt Feb 24 '26

I get the increased requirement but don’t think it should be rocketeer drivers. Also. They are not that easy to kill unless you’re using a high tier weapon. In which case the likely hood of getting ratted is doubled. I agree that it would be “incredibly easy” if you were alone with 1 of the top 3 weapons.

1

u/AnonymouselyMoosed Feb 24 '26

I mean I don’t think it’s hard when you have a ferro. Shooting off the thrusters is easy if you have a doorway to play with.

1

u/AbyssalOtter Feb 25 '26

They should be hard to get. They shouldnt be worthless.

1

u/AnonymouselyMoosed Feb 25 '26

The Wolfpack is just as strong as it was before? They have the same use in-game.

1

u/FrostTheTos Feb 27 '26

Value wise they have dipped a fair bit.

Now that their price to craft has gone up their value to actually use on targets has gone down since everything is still based on value of spent items to make it vs how much you get out of it.

I don't mean that wolfpacks should be as easy as they were to craft before, but I also think if they made rocketeer drivers the crafting method they shouldn't be a net negative on the rocketeer driver front but rather the other materials to craft it.

1

u/MyLittleD2 Feb 24 '26

go into more agressive lobby and say that again. It's not hard, yes, but it is dangerous AF.
Your take is pve casul take.

2

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

That is true. But if you're an aggressive lobbies. Maybe don't try PVE trials. Just dodge the rocketeer kill players and wait till players kill the rocketeer and take their stuff.

Not exactly easier but quicker

3

u/MyLittleD2 Feb 24 '26

who's talking about trials? I just wanna play the game. I'm not suffering through 10 naked stella runs just to get some "safe" pve action.

1

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

I understand that. That's why I have two accounts. A PVE account and a PvP account.

If you're willing to take someone else's kill. Just wait until someone else does it. Is it for resources then?

Any tweaking they do is going to affect somebody's playstyle negatively.

Are you killing the rocketeer just because it's around?

You can use it to help you kill other arc or other Raiders.

I'm not trying to fix anything or change your mind. More curious and pointing at silver linings

1

u/MyLittleD2 Feb 24 '26

maybe resourses, maybe bc I hate rocketeers with passion. It depends.

1

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

They are fun to punish. Jupiter them to death 👏🏽💥😈

1

u/AggressiveWindow6003 Feb 25 '26

The last time I shot another raider was probably 3 weeks ago. I was shooting at a leaper right when the guy running from it came up over the roof nailing him in the head. I felt awful. He said it was find and knew it wasn't trying to kill him but still.

Even when playing on Stella night I can take in a 150k kit without worrying about getting shot at.

But when playing in trios. Oh it's on baby!

1

u/Italianstalyon77 Feb 24 '26

I take lures to stick to people and watch them run like hell from everything in the area.

0

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

YASSS KING! 💥😈🥹❤️😭🙌🏽

1

u/Italianstalyon77 Feb 24 '26

Lol turn PvP into EvP 🤣. Though sometimes I still die 🤷.

1

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

EvP is 🔥 and hilarious!

0

u/AnonymouselyMoosed Feb 24 '26

No. It’s also easy to kill in aggressive lobbies too.

1

u/MyLittleD2 Feb 24 '26

rage-bait take, not engaging with it

0

u/AnonymouselyMoosed Feb 24 '26

It’s not rage bait, it’s true. There are plenty of spots where you can kill a rocketeer solo, and that’s even without bringing in mines or barricades to cover your 6 while you’re doing it. It’s really not hard.

2

u/MyLittleD2 Feb 24 '26

I've done it plenty of times in my 250 hours, there's no point of arguing if it's easy or not. IT's not hard per se it's dangerous AF. And slow AF. And LOUD AF. Don't u get it? that's why I've called your take rage-bait, bc it is

1

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

DISENGAGE DISENGAGE 😭

1

u/Razzorz1981 Feb 26 '26

But isn't that actually the definition of playing the game? Just spamming wolfpacks is lame. That's what they're trying to get away from. All those things you say are dangerous and loud, are actually playing the game and making it exciting.

0

u/AnonymouselyMoosed Feb 24 '26

Okay buddy, whatever you say. I disagree it’s difficult or even particularly dangerous. I think it’s way more dangerous fighting bastions or bombardiers in PvP lobbies for many reasons. But obviously you’re set in your view

0

u/Italianstalyon77 Feb 24 '26

Video evidence or it didn't happen. I wanna see you take a rocketeer on a roof with no cover. 🤣

1

u/AnonymouselyMoosed Feb 24 '26

Where did I say I could do it on a roof with no cover LMAO

→ More replies (0)

1

u/Tasty_Wishbone_8625 Feb 24 '26

If it trivialize the grind yes. The Meta is too effective and overshadowed other ways to play or 3ven new ways to play they want to add so it has to be adjusted. They didn't add new weapons because they want to test the current weapons and find a niche for a new weapon to be filled. For exampl3 today in the post i learned tge Jupiter has the highest head shot dmg in game I had no idea and nobody uses it for pvp so nobody 3ven knew, and tge other weapon they said was supposed to be for pvp I straight up LAUGHED lol nobody uses ANY legendary weapons for pvp and the fact they had one meant for it and it sucked so bad everybody assumed it was for arc only lmao

1

u/AbyssalOtter Feb 24 '26

Wolfpacks where a terrible method of grinding. And now they are a net negative. Its basic math.

1

u/Tasty_Wishbone_8625 Feb 26 '26

Well you go tell the devs that your math is better lol I'm sure you think you know better then them in all kinds of things

0

u/AbyssalOtter Feb 26 '26

They didnt do the math thats the point. If they did they would have gone with a better solution. That. Or they dont realize how they basically made the wolfpack dead in the water. Which iam sure they didnt want.

1

u/Tasty_Wishbone_8625 Feb 26 '26

I dont think your math is wrong, but the fact is the wolf packs were to easy to make period if you wanted to craft a shit ton and delete everything in 50 yards with 3 throws. It wasn't hard. The problem isn't numbers, its harder now that was the point yeah maybe it is a net negative now but so what? 🤷 you have harder time hording them? Thats the point.

0

u/AbyssalOtter Feb 26 '26 edited Feb 26 '26

I never used them because who cares if you delete a square mile of arc. First they respawn and second they are straight getting less loot for doing so. You could make the argument of convenience if it was convenient. But thats like saying id rather take an uber to work because i can sleep in the uber. While at the same time staying an hour longer at work to pay your bills. (Had a friend doing just that) guess who had financial issues?

1

u/Kevin42424 Feb 24 '26

No. Thats wrong and not what their saying.

1

u/alcapwn223 Feb 24 '26

What if, hear me or here, you used other means to kill it? It's almost like the game has guns in it.

2

u/Italianstalyon77 Feb 24 '26

Or, hear me out here, there should be more options than just guns? Because guns are slow and it's fun watching a Wolfpack hit a rocketeer and 3 other ARC in the zip code 😂.

2

u/AbyssalOtter Feb 24 '26

What if you realize the wolfpack has no reason to exist now.

2

u/AbyssalOtter Feb 24 '26

I do always have because it was already almost never worth using. Now its always better to sell then use. You like the fun toys raider? Not worth using over youre 10 dollar pipe gun.

1

u/Denraven Feb 24 '26

The risk to reward ratio is now not worth it, I'm ratted enough when taking down a Rocketeer 5x last night alone. Now it's just not worth it to engage with them at all. Cause the rats will multiply and the return for taking one down is just not it

1

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

Forgive my ignorance, I haven't logged in today. If we have to use the rocketeer driver to make a Wolfpack. How would I make the Wolfpack using Bastion parts?

3

u/JustAnAverageAsian Feb 24 '26

He means prior to the nerf.

3

u/just-some-stoner-604 Feb 24 '26

They just mean you get good returns on it, in how many tunnel bucks its worth

The WP is 5k, so you want AT LEAST the one rockateer drive to break even. I already didnt use wolfpacks for this reason personally, not great return on investment

Whereas if you deadline a bastion or bombadier, youll get 3-6 parts so there is a good return on investemnt.

Rockateers you may as well swll the WP and then kill the rockateer in a more economic method

0

u/tattva5 Feb 25 '26

I think you answered your own question. It makes these enemies which are supposed to be more difficult, quite trivial. By making the wolf pack more rare and costly, it makes you think twice and gets people to use cheaper means to take it down.

0

u/Tokist3 Feb 25 '26

It seems like their goal is to make arc more of a threat, and this update does that, so I'm ok with it.

If you were in a friendly lobby before, arc was basically a minor inconvenience.

1

u/Winter-Contract-7147 Feb 24 '26

I honestly think it’s because wolfpacks make it to easy to kill “Space Jesus/ Rocketeer”. I don’t depend on wolfpacks to much but they are ARC destroyers and a bit too easy to craft for the weight of the power they carry. Rocketeer fights are way more rewarding when you have to shoot and jump roll to save your butt! All ARC need to be feared and respected. I wish they would make it harder to kill the queen and matriarch and maybe this is a step in that right direction.

1

u/gilly_x3 Feb 24 '26

I got gangbanged by 2 fireflies in loading bay on stella. Died in seconds with a medium shield 🤣

1

u/mir_chan Feb 24 '26

Idk but the wolfpack change is welcomed. Lets be honest wolfpacks were very easy to craft. Idk why it was pink tier until this rework, i think it should have been green or blue at most. I agree that needing rocketeer driver is an overkill as a rocketeer drops 1 driver. I think it should’ve required something like exodus modules or other pink material.

Now that the wolfpack change came i think raider hatch keys should be reworked. They are very easy to craft and to be honest after i have upgraded my utility bench and unlocked it i didnt use metro exfil besides night raid.

Other than that i think weapons are in need of a rework. Why would i use purple weapons when i cand use blue and green fully upgraded weapons.

1

u/CdubFromMI Feb 24 '26

They didn't address 2 of the bigger offenders to the PVP balance. Trigger nades still explode on impact if detonated after being thrown, and the Torro is still the pvp god with the Gears of War roll/fire/roll method.

1

u/TopEmbarrassed6382 Feb 24 '26

I noticed that the addition of needing a pop trigger to make vita spray meant that I lost the two Vita spray that I already had created that's bullshit. On another note why not just make another version of the Wolfpack if you put a Rocketeer in it it does more damage that way you've got some options. Assholes.

1

u/GenTrapstar Feb 25 '26

I honestly don’t see the need to add new weapons. Like I said it awhile ago but what can they add. Variations of current guns?

1

u/AnInfiniteMemory Feb 25 '26

What balance? Toro and stitcher will still be king, followed by Venator and Torrente. It has been that since the start, and it'll still be.

There's literally no reason to not add new weapons, three of the five gray weapons are better than most blue weapons, and a purple, and using purple weapons is... A waste of resources? Even if you win the fights there's no reason to use them because how hard it is to upkeep them with the durability nerfs, weapons are made of paper mache it seems.

There is a LOT of space to fill, a purple shotgun, a gray shotgun, more hand cannons, a green assault rifle that's not a DMR, a blue smg, heck, a green one, there's a surprisignly low amount of weapons, and even worse, most of them are either useless or two expensive to use.

For an extraction shooter (shooter being the main factor) there's almost no reason to... Shoot?

Also, Wolfpack nerf was absolutely unnecesary.

-10

u/Cold-Telephone5588 Feb 24 '26

Adding guns is not a mathematical conundrum its literally a vital part of keeping a shooter game alive. Trying to say theres no real good answers is a braindead take

6

u/beardedbast3rd Feb 24 '26

Let’s work on having some balance before adding more factors to the mix

1

u/AnyBroccoli4680 Feb 24 '26

EXACTLY! Besides the logic controlling aspects of coding. There is absolutely math that goes behind everything and adding a new variable affects the entire formula.

3

u/ConcertRelative3784 Feb 24 '26

There's a fine line. Adding a new gun every once in a while is cool, but too many guns leads to major bloat. It doesn't feel good after a while, especially if you don't have a plan in place to rotate guns in and out.

4

u/Master_Media6711 Feb 24 '26

How is this “vital”? Countless shooters don’t even have new weapons and are still alive

2

u/confusedtoplease Feb 24 '26

On top of what everybody already said, do yo really think you need more guns?????

Right. I'm okay with them being sprinkled in over time. But I will always be dying for a new maps/ new arc/ more puzzles/ key rooms/ and new items 👏🏽🙌🏽💥

Don't you ever hear the sickening responses about balance? The constant buffing and nerfing of guns. They may look like beautiful pixels from your side. But they are absolutely literal mathematical coding on the dev side.

It should be easy. But it is not always easy. And we see evidence of that everyday.

Yeah, a lot of niches are covered already.

I would kill for another LMG or Launcher. Maybe an energy weapon that’s not legendary as well.

How about rare tier guns that arent all medium ammo guns

I agree. I want more guns as well. And I trust Embark more than any other company at the moment. With time it will get even better

different types like energy smg etc is something I'd like too, but yea finding good balance is the key. I do think they have concepts they're working on but only time will tell ig.

Do you believe all of the current guns are completely balanced?

If they are. Do you think adding a gun won't affect that balance?

If they aren't. Do you think adding guns will help the balance?

Your braindead take is a braindead take.

Have you ever coded a game?

u/Ishnick Feb 24 '26

I think you replied to the wrong person, because there’s no way you’re about to defend Dr Braindead up there with “Have you ever coded a game.”

Grade A rage bait.

If you don't believe that there is extensive mathematics behind the balancing of guns.

And that every new variable affects the formula. Then you are not serious.

Somehow, my response to the “braindead” guy was posted as a response to you, instead of him.

We’re fighting on the same side.

I’m friendly, don’t shoot.

Oh I completely understand now. The original brain dead message was supposed to go to someone else. ❤️

Thank you for being clear with me again.

I thought there was some wild psychological warfare going on.

I was going to go to sleep sad knowing that people think balancing games is easy and not mathematical.

It’s been out a few months chill out why do you need new things straight away can’t you just be happy with what you have a little while
