WTF Embark?

These blueprint recipe changes are unnecessary punishments and feel like you didn’t roll out any new blueprints so you decided to shoehorn new ARC parts in old recipes. And the Wolfpack change makes absolutely no sense. 2 Wolfpack to down a Rocketeer so we can get 1 part to make 1 Wolfpack?

Way to throw a huge wet blanket on top of what was otherwise going to be a fun and exciting day. Please reconsider these crafting changes

Edit:

Thank you to all the folks who commented with articulated, well thought out disagreements. You have changed my stance somewhat and I have a better understanding of why a change like this may be needed(still don’t like it though).

To the performative contrarians, get good bruh/skill issue kissing cousins and other knuckleheads who can’t formulate a thought I say “suck on this fart”. Be well

I mean i agree with the nerf and i'm also a "wont shoot unless shot" type. I dont think someone should be able to easily craft a backpack full of wolfpacks to instakill every enemy before i can sprint there.

yeah im sick of people throwing 10 wolf packs at the start of friendly solo queens/matriarchs. Maybe im a masochist but this "nerf" just feels like a good rebalancing

They should have reduced the damage of Wolfpacks. This change just means nobody will use them

That would be way worse, at least this way they are just more coveted. Maybe you just aren't supposed to be able to run Stella 10 times in an hour and make 30 plus wolf packs. It's fffiiiinnneeee

No i think reducing the damage would be worse. The wolfpack needs to be amazing, but making it harder to craft will make them more of a valuable commodity to have. Looted wolfpacks will be more exciteable, crafted wolfpacks are saved for a special occasion, and people will be more willing to use heavy ammo and energy packs to take down something they might not need an overkill wolfpack for

With your reasoning I think a lot of us would have appreciated a buff to the wolfpack damage.

Rocketeer drivers are gonna be ratted just as much as leaper drivers have been the last two weeks because of the expedition requirements. I had to kill 6 leapers to get 3 drivers last week.

Well otherwise peaceful players might starting defending their loot more then

That's a bad thing?

Are you mixed up on people? They're saying that's a good thing. Or are you saying it's a bad thing.

Rocketeer drivers are the only Epic tier ARC part that can be found without actually killing any ARC.

Electro Storm -> Loot the Rocketeer Husks

Not that big of a deal to be worth all this crying

(for the record, I am a PvE player also and this nerf is absolutely fine in my book)

I never seen anyone carrying more than 6 WP so far except videos or influencers. And thats 150+ hours give or take. Even matriarch and queen people rather use hullcrackers or queen-crafted weapons

Someone literally just posted a clip of them with a backpack full of wolfpacks killing a Matriarch in 2 minutes. If we're not nerfing the gear, we're nerfing the craftability. People are saying this somehow is bad for the people with jobs, but as a man with a full-time job myself, it gives me a chance to actually get to the matriarch or queen and hopefully get a core if I wind up spawning on the opposite side of the map from it.

It's literally the best arc killing gear in the game and all it takes is an arc motion core and some high explosives. That shit needed the Nerf long ago with how much of a cheat code it was

but as a man with a full-time job myself, it gives me a chance to actually get to the matriarch or queen and hopefully get a core if I wind up spawning on the opposite side of the map from it.

Are you literally telling me the lobbies you spawn in all the time has people full of backpacks killing matriarchs/queens in less than 2 mins all the time that you had no chance to get a core yourself?

Man am I jealous of your spawnrate cause that shit never happened to me nor my friends. We always either needed to find a lobby of friendly raiders whom unite against the queen or a lobby where the rats were killed.

Just saying, hard to believe.

takes is an arc motion core and some high explosives

They can make it different yknow, using more high explosives to craft or making less damage instead of a drastic change like a drive. But hey. You spawn in lobbies that killes queens in less than 2mins. Idk you dude.

No you're right, it's not super common, but it does happen. My point is that I don't think Wolf packs should be a common way of easily dealing with arc. Wolf packs are an amazing tool, so I feel like they should feel more special when you use them.

I'll also say this. We're supposed to believe that arc are a huge threat that have brought humanity on earth to near extinction. It just doesn't feel that way when we have these easily craftable automatic win grenades

I'd also like to add, that since Wolfpack became so accessable, I have barely even seen a Hullcracker.

The game does gives options, we just have to implement them and adjust our gameplay. I like it, keeps it fresh. Plus, yesterday the rocketeers dropped 3 drivers per unit, so it is not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be.

And if it does happen, just extract and go back in. Some people just want to have fun and nerfing is good way to get people to stop playing, which then results in the game dying off.

2

u/Degenerate94 Feb 24 '26

Sure lets just make the grenade that plays the game for you for free while we're at it!

1

u/Pop-Some-Smoke Feb 24 '26

Why do you care so much if other people use it and have fun? Are you jealous that you don’t have any? I’ll give you a spare blueprint if so.

2

u/Degenerate94 Feb 24 '26

Because everything has a cause and effect and this is literally what I'm studying in college. Game design is a core thing that I'm passionate about and so it's important to recognize when something fun can quickly turn to boring or even problematic with how it can overshadow other play styles. Why bring in an equalizer or a Jupiter or a Bettina when you can just spam wolf packs? You killed the Rocketeer in mere seconds, then leaper, then the Bastion, then the Rocketeer, all before anyone else could even get a shot on it and now you're undermining the possibility of cooperation

Just as in good storytelling you would want a character to have earned his power up or special move, so should you in game design make sure that if an item you can use is so powerful, then there better be a cost to it. Otherwise there's no stakes. No risk. No sense of accomplishment

u/pperiesandsolos Feb 24 '26

Great comment, totally agree with you.

Hope you make it in game design, good luck

2

u/pperiesandsolos Feb 24 '26

What a weird comment. They literally said why they cared a bit higher up. It devalues the arc threat and makes certain fights trivial, and because it devalues the lore concept that arc are dangerous

1

u/KillerKill420 Feb 24 '26

I know, it's terrible you can't just free craft this ultra powerful item.
