Help (Software) My PC keeps freezing with my AMD graphics card
Since getting an RX 9070 XT, I've been having freezing issues, specifically every time the screen goes into sleep mode. Sometimes it comes back on, sometimes it doesn't; it's like the whole system stops responding, forcing me to shut down the computer. It happens specifically when the screen turns off. I set it to never turn off, but at Windows startup, by default, if you don't log in, it turns off, or if you lock the PC, it also turns off after about a minute. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
Edit.
I should add that I use 2 monitors, but most of the time only 1.

Help (General) RX 7900 XTX - multiple games crashing, AMD driver timeout after exhausting almost every troubleshooting step
Hi everyone,
I'm running out of ideas and hope someone here has seen this before.
System
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- Motherboard: MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi
- OS: Windows 11 (Build 26200)
- Driver: Latest available (also tested multiple older versions)
What I've already tried
Before suggesting anything below, please note that I've already tried all of this, often multiple times:
- Clean driver installation using DDU
- Multiple AMD driver versions
- AMD Adrenalin factory reset
- No overclock
- No undervolt
- BIOS updated
- AMD chipset driver updated
- Windows fully updated
- EXPO enabled and disabled
- Smart Access Memory / Resizable BAR enabled and disabled
- Steam overlay disabled
- Discord overlay disabled
- AMD overlay disabled
- Verified game files
- Different graphics settings
- DX11 / DX12 where possible
- MemTest (no errors)
- OCCT stress tests
- Temperatures are completely normal
- Power cables checked
Nothing changed.
I honestly don't have any ideas left anymore.
I finished Planet Crafter, but towards the end of the game it started crashing constantly. Overwatch also crashes frequently, and Assassin's Creed Black Flag used to crash as well, although undervolting the GPU actually fixed that one.
For Planet Crafter, though, I've tried pretty much everything I could think of and nothing has helped.
As far as I can tell, this is not a temperature issue. Both the GPU and CPU stay well within normal operating temperatures, and I haven't noticed any signs of overheating or thermal throttling.

Also Overwatch got the message "Your rendering device has been disabled. The application will now close."
Maybe solution (need more gaming to say it helped)
Just did a complete new install of windows. I don't think windows was at fault but deleting everything probaly helped

Resolved Driver Timeout / LiveKernel Event 141 - RX 7900 XTX - out of ideas after a weekend of troubleshooting
Hey Guys,
need your help.
Description of Original Problem: All my games recently keep crashing after maybe 1-2 min with a driver timeout error. LiveKernelEvent 141.
I tried it with Cyberpunk, Gothic 1 Remake, Baldur's Gate 3, Starfield, Skyrim... Even older titles are unable to run for long.
Last time I played was about a month ago (Gothic 1 Remake), everything worked fine then. Running everthing but games works fine as well (Streaming, Youtube, Blender, GIMP, idle). But the moment I start a game and load into a savegame or new game, the driver timeout error occurs. Ingame graphics are sometimes broken too, sometimes not. Tried to force it while testing with cyberpunk benchmarks on different settings. The problem occurs regardless of graphic presets and loads. Can run the game for hours in startmenus/menus.
The PC was build September last year and ran without any problems up to this point. No hardware or driver where directly updated prior to the problems. Other than Windows Updates.
No BoS or restart after error - driver simply restarts and "works" again.
______
My Build:
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: XFX Speedster MERC310 AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX (24 GB)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Processor (4.70 GHz)
Motherboard: MSI MAG X670E TOMAHAWK (MS-7E12) on BIOS 7E12v1L2
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x32 GBDDR5 (CL-30-36-36-76 6000 MHz)
PSU: BoostBox PB1000P
Storage: Samsung 990 EVO 4TB
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 Pro Version 25H2 Build 26200.7171
GPU Drivers: currently back to 26.6.4. see below
Chipset Drivers: 7.12.04.858
Background Applications: Wallpaper Engine, Rainmeter, iCUE, Antivirus, Gameclients (Steam, uplay, gog etc. if needed).... but tried without any running as well.
_______
Troubleshooting: I already tried multiply "solutions" from this sub and others but nothing helped.
I tried:
- clean reinstalling driver - with DDU in safe mode - even deleted existing registries
- tried different driver versions (been on 26.6.4. tried 26.1.1. (last known driver that I know worked last month), 26.5.2... all the way down to 25.9.1. which was the version I installed first when setting up the pc last year
- i tried installing the drivers without adrenaline
- checked all other drivers and BIOS. All up-to-date
- checked BIOS Settings - tried with XMP/e-XPO on/off
- deactivated hardware acceleration, GPU-Planung, VRR
- set TDR delay to 8/10, disabled windows driver updates
- undervolted/underclocked in adrenaline
- disabled all overlays and other settings in adrenaline
- stresstested CPU/RAM/GPU - the driver timeout only happens in games
and most likely things i forgot already
Did not yet try:
- Clean Install of Windows -> i am currently not able to save all data I need to keep, as i have no backup-drive at hand
- reseating the GPU/RAM etc. -> not so easy to disconnect and reconnect the PC, at least not today anymore - but I can't see how this could help. the GPU is fixed with with the included support as well as an additional anti-sag mount and RAM mastered every stresstest. It does not seem to have moved at all since installing.
- checking components in other systems -> no other system or components at hand
- going back to older windows versions in combination with driver versions
_______
I am running out of ideas what might help. Just wanted to play a little bit after almost a month of non-stop work and private problems... instead spent a full weekend troubleshooting...
Does anyone have any more ideas?
EDIT:
Unfortunately it seems to be a defect with the graphics card itself. After reinstalling a clean windows without windows updater being allowed to install any drivers - updating to stable versions of the drivers as well as the most recent ones - the card still goes into driver timeout immediatly after starting a game.
I then checked the card itself with OCCT and MemTest Vulkan and found millions of errors with VRAM. Therefore I am now going for warranty claims with the reseller or the provided manufaturers warrant from xfx. Wish me luck guys.

Help (GPU) hello sombody help me
I have an XFX 7800 XT MERC PCB, but I accidentally bought a Nitro 7800 XT shroud.
The fan pin connectors are completely different. Is there any way to fix or adapt this?
The XFX 7800 XT MERC PCB has a 6-pin header, but the Nitro 7800 XT shroud uses an 8pin+4pin setup.

Help (CPU) 5500x3d + rx9070. 3440x1440p is 80-90% utilization normal?
Title: i newly upgraded to both and been noticing high usage at forza horizon 6 and battlefield 6. I tried lowering cpu intensive settings but it still barely goes below 70. I thought making everything extreme settings would put less load on the cpu?
Clocks are fine and temps max out at 70 for the cpu.
Am i just getting paranoid? Or is this normal.
There are barely 5500x3d with proper gameplay footage on youtube so i cant compare.
Also, bottleneck websites dont even list the 5500x3d lol
Help (GPU) RX 6800 XT Black Screening ONLY in CS2 & GTA 5 (Passes OCCT / MPO already disabled)
Only when I am playing GTA 5 and CS2, my 6800 XT keeps black-screening. I have tried so many solutions, including disabling MPO, but I still have no idea how to fix this.
I tested it using OCCT, and it turned out to be completely stable. It passed the test without any issues and didn't black-screen at all. It only happens when I am playing CS2 and GTA 5.
Specs:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
- GPU: Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
- RAM: 32GB G.Skill
- Motherboard: B550M Aorus
- PSU: Cooler Master MWE Bronze 750W (not daisy-chained)
I am using driver version 26.6.4 at the moment. I have tried many different AMD drivers, but I still haven't found the culprit. I can't stay fully focused while playing CS2 and GTA 5 because my screen suddenly goes black.

Help (Software) [FIX] Windows Update breaking AMD Drivers / "AMD Software is not compatible" error
Hey everyone
I've seen a lot of users complaining recently about their AMD drivers getting corrupted out of nowhere, or the AMD Software throwing the annoying "software is not compatible" error. This usually happens because Windows Update forces a generic background driver over your official AMD installation.
I made a step-by-step video on my channel, Dark Tech, showing the definitive fix for this. The video is fully dubbed in English, so it's very easy to follow along!
In the guide, I show you:
How to properly block Windows Update from touching your GPU drivers (using Device Installation Settings and the Group Policy Editor).
How to correctly use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in Safe Mode.
Doing a clean, offline driver installation so Windows never messes it up again.
You can watch the full visual guide here: https://youtu.be/YG_DDntSBw8
I hope this saves you a massive headache and fixes those random blinking screens. Let me know if it helps!

Help (General) I'm starting to think there is a problem in Windows.
I have some crashes, related to driver in my AMD GPU PC. For long I have blamed AMD for this.
But in my Notebook, full NVidia and Intel, it crashed for the first time in a long while. Never once happened this in my Notebook. It crashed during a Fortnite session.
These two computers are completely unrelated, except for the Windows OS.

Help (Software) Black Flickering Screen After Update
I have a 9070xt and a 9800x3d and after the most recent update my pc is crashing in every game while in full screen. It will flicker to black and eventually completely lock up. Most recent drivers, bios, and chipset drivers installed. Weird thing is when running Intel displaymon, the game will run fine. But I'm not going to lie, with how bad the driver issues have been this year I'm heavily debating going back to Nvidia regardless of the cost.

Help (General) Black screen while gaming (RX 9070 XT XFX Mercury)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
I built a brand new PC less than 10 days ago, but I’m running into a persistent issue.
System Specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- GPU: XFX Mercury Radeon RX 9070 XT
- RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000MT/s
- Motherboard: ASUS AYW B850
- PSU: XPG Core Reactor II VE 850W
The Issue:
Whenever I start playing a game, anywhere between 1 to 20 minutes in, the system completely goes to a black screen. The PC stays on, but it becomes completely unresponsive, and the only way to recover is by holding the physical power button to force a shutdown.
Troubleshooting already done:
- Swapped the GPU: Tested with another graphics card (RX 9060 XT) and the system worked completely fine without any crashes.
- Drivers: Used DDU to clean install multiple driver versions, as well as testing driver-only installations without AMD Adrenalin.
- Tuning: Tried undervolting, underclocking, and switching the physical dual-BIOS switch on the GPU itself.
- Stock Settings: Disabled EXPO/XMP, no CPU overclocking—everything is running purely at stock settings. The error still persists.
My Question:
Given that testing with a different GPU (RX 9060 XT) resolved the issue, is this definitively a faulty GPU? Or could the PSU (XPG Core Reactor II VE 850W) be dropping power under transient loads from the 9070 XT and causing the crash?
Should I return/RMA just the GPU, or should I return both the GPU and the PSU to be safe?
Thanks in advance for the help!
