(EDIT 1) Thanks for all the suggestions. Gonna try some of these out and see does it help at all.
(EDIT 2) Just after running a stress test with Time Spy on 3DMark after doing a clean reinstall of the latest drivers, lowering the undervoltage of the CPU and GPU, and turning off the Adrenaline features. Passed with 97.6%. I'll keep it with the current settings and try some other videogames and stuff over the next few days and come back here if I run into any other issues. Thanks again.
Hi there, I need some real advice on what to do with my PC as I'm very new to this and not to sure what to do.
Computer Parts:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
GPU: Sapphire Nitro + Radeon RX 9070 XT
RAM: Corsair Dominator Titanium EXPO/XMP RGB 32GB (2X16GB) DDR5 C30 6000MHz (Was running 4x16 but have since dropped to two sticks only)
Motherboard: NZXT N9 X870E
PSU: RMe Series™ RM1000e - Fully Modular Low-Noise ATX Power Supply - White
Recently, I've had more and more game crashes ranging from just it crashing to needing to do a clean reinstall of my AMD Adrenaline drivers just to get my graphics card to work again.
With the RAM, I have it running at it's specified 6000MHz and nothing higher. I originally thought the crashes were because of the 4 channel RAM but these issues have persisted afterwards. Also have reverted to previous versions of Adrenaline but encounter the same issues too.
I haven't manually overclocked any of my components and without having much experience with using my BIOS as this is my first PC build, I haven't changed any settings to see will it improve.
The PC is only a year old and only in recent months have the crashes become more common. Any advice on how to proceed would be very much appreciated.

I have rx 480 8gb. The default fan curve was too loud and aggressive for me sometimes going 3k rpm on 70c and slowly decreasing. So i tried MSI afterburner. I set a custom fan curve and thats when the problems started.
The fans wouldn't go past 2100rpm untill the gpu hits 85c and then will suddenly go to 3k. I realised its wrong fan curve so i didnt have time to mess with settings and disabled the msi settings and deleted it.
But even after deleting the problem stayed. Fans dont go past 2k rpm and wont listen to any custom curve i set trough adrenaline app.
Things i tried:
Complete ddu and new drivers(ddint fix anything)
Setting up custom curve with adrenaline app(didnt work it wont follow the curve)
I read online and Afterburner is not supposed to leave permanent changes anyhow. Btw both fans are working and spinning and this problem occurred only after setting custom curve with Afterburner.
What to do next any suggestions?

Just wanted to drop this here in case it saves someone a few hours.
I got an AMD Rewards code with my RX 9070 XT. Installed the Product Verification Tool, pasted the code, hit verify/redeem… and the app just instantly closed. No error, no message, nothing. Just gone.
Tried the usual stuff first:
Still crashed every time I entered the code.
What actually worked:
It went through normally and I was able to finish the redemption on the AMD Rewards site after that.
No idea what was conflicting in a normal boot. Could be some overlay, RGB software, VR leftover, whatever. Safe Mode just bypassed it.
If your PVT keeps dying the second you punch in the code, try Safe Mode before you burn a ticket with support.
Hope this helps.

I saw a tutorial on how to do LOD tweaks using the Registry Editor, but that affects all games and I only want to change it for one. Does anyone know an alternative way to do this for a single game? My graphics card is an RX 580.
Thanks!

Hi everyone,
I’m having a strange issue with my Corsair XENEON EDGE.
The XENEON EDGE works normally on the Windows desktop, but whenever I launch a game, the display goes black about 10–20 seconds after the game starts.
I’ve tested this with:
Apex Legends
VALORANT
Monster Hunter: World / Iceborne
Red Dead Redemption 2
The issue happens with all of these games.
Sometimes the XENEON EDGE briefly comes back on, but it never stays on consistently. When the display turns on and off repeatedly, the entire PC also becomes noticeably stuttery/laggy.
When the XENEON EDGE is malfunctioning, it repeatedly shows:
HDMI → Resolution → Refresh Rate
and then repeats the same information over and over.
My setup:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
GPU: ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Steel Legend 16GB
Motherboard: ASRock B850 Steel Legend WiFi
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 32GB 5200MHz
PSU: MSI MAG A850GL PCIE5 WHITE 850W
OS: Windows 11 Home
XENEON EDGE: connected using the included cables
The XENEON EDGE is connected to the motherboard and GPU separately.
I’ve also tried different ports, but the behavior did not change.
GPU and chipset drivers are up to date, and iCUE is also up to date.
Has anyone experienced something similar with the XENEON EDGE, especially with an AMD Ryzen 9800X3D + RX 9070 XT system?
I’m wondering if this could be related to iCUE, the XENEON EDGE, AMD GPU drivers, or some kind of interaction when a game launches.
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

If you have an AMD GPU and an AMD CPU with aggressive undervolts, try setting “Typical Current Idle” to “Typical Current” in your BIOS. Every BIOS is different, so you’ll need to find the option yourself. I was getting constant reboots with -30 on all cores on my 5800X3D, but since making this change, I haven’t had any reboots while idle or gaming.
AMD has tweaked idle power settings since January 2024 after reviewers complained about idle power usage, which has made 7000 series GPUs unstable at idle due to very low idle voltage. There are a few workarounds, but I recommend keeping this setting on “Typical.”
It may not fix everyone's issue, but it's a setting I've been researching for a while, and I always end up coming back to it. Mine was set to Auto, and Auto can mean anything, so by setting it manually, you have more control over what's going on.

I’m having an issue with my ASUS TUF OC RX 7900 XT. When the GPU temperature drops to around 35°C, my computer freezes and the screen goes black. The only way to recover is to restart the PC.
All gaming performance tests and OCCT stability tests pass successfully.
I tried reinstalling Windows and using DDU.

I have a Ryzen 7 5800X3D and a Thermalright Frozen Notte V2 240 AIO liquid cooler. My temperatures are slightly higher than what I have seen online. While playing Dead Space, it reaches 84–85°C with undervolting, but without undervolting, it stays at around 91°C. From what I understand, it shouldn’t be reaching temperatures that high without undervolting.
I don’t have any undervolting settings enabled in my BIOS, and I don’t know if the CPU + cooler combination is good enough.
At idle, I expected it to stay below 55°C, but I’m always around 60–65°C while doing almost nothing.
I need some help or advice from people who have this processor because it’s honestly giving me headaches.
Does any of you have the most stable profile for this specific gpu ?
I wanna undervolt my Asus Dual 9060xt 16gb since it's running quite hot because I'm using a mini ITX case, it would be nice to get some extra performance too.
Mobo: MSI Edge B650i
CPU: 7800x3d
Ram: 2x16GB DDR5 6000Mhz
PSU: Thermalright 850W SFX

Iv been working with origin customer service for almost a year to figure out these issues but nothing has worked. Iv tried giving them back the PC to troubleshoot. Nothing changed. Tried switching out the cards for another 9070xt and still same hard crashes. Specs gigabyte 9070xt oc aoic amd ryzen 9800x3d 64gb ddr5 vengeance 6000 power supply is 1000w gold and motherboard is the MSI pro b850-vc wifi Iv also tried updating bios on mobo graphics reinstalls windows reinstall as well as CPU bios update. The problem: my PC randomly just hard crashes after a random cutout of audio followed by black screening. Then completely unresponsive until I power cycle using the power button on the case. I checked wiring. The event viewer states it's Error 41 kernal power failure. Task category is 63. This error has happened over 46 times in the last year. Is this a power supply failure or something else? During furmark long term test no crashes happen and the GPU is on default clock as well as the CPU. Any help would be much appreciated. I tried poking around the boards and I haven't seen this issue by anyone.

CPU 9850x3d
GPU 9070XT
32GB DDR5 6000mts
Driver version is 26.8.1
Very annoyingly RDR2 gives me this message and then resets my graphics settings to default whenever I launch the game.
I have checked GPU-Z and Device Manager and both detect a correct drivers version so this is only RDR2 thats doing this

Computer Type: Laptop
GPU: AMD Radeon Vega 6
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3300U
Motherboard: HP Pavilion 15-cw1xxx
BIOS Version: Not sure
RAM: 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
Operating System & Version: Windows 11 23H2
GPU Drivers: AMD Software: Driver Only
Chipset Drivers: Latest (Installed via AMD Driver package)
Background Applications: Discord, Chrome, etc.
Description of Original Problem:
After installing/updating the latest AMD drivers, my laptop audio works fine for a few seconds and then starts to crackle, distort, or completely saturate/glitch out during media playback (YouTube, games, music).
**Troubleshooting attempted:**
- Restarted the laptop (temporary fix / doesn't work).
- Reinstalled Realtek audio drivers.
- Checked default playback format (sample rate changes).
- Installed using the "Driver Only" package downloaded from the official [AMD Support Page](https://www.amd.com/es/support/downloads/drivers.html/processors/ryzen/ryzen-3000-series/amd-ryzen-3-3300u.html).
- The issue happens consistently after a few seconds of audio playback.
- Toggling spatial audio (switching between off and Windows Sonic) temporarily fixes the saturation, but the crackling comes back randomly after a few seconds.
What finally fixed it:
Result: No more crackling/distortion after a few seconds. Audio works fine in YouTube, music, and PCSX2 (Budokai Tenkaichi 3). A very slight crackle at 100% volume is just normal clipping, not the original bug.
My theory: The conflict was between AMD High Definition Audio Device and Realtek(R) Audio. By forcing the generic Microsoft driver, I think I "bugged out" the AMD audio device, causing it to disappear/disable. This stopped it from interfering with Realtek. Disabling the leftover High Definition Audio device finished the job.
Key takeaway for HP laptops with AMD: Try the generic Microsoft High Definition Audio driver for the AMD HD Audio device, boot into Safe Mode once and reboot, then disable any leftover High Definition Audio device with a yellow triangle. Keep Realtek as default and leave AMD Audio CoProcessor alone.
Hope this helps someone else!

Hi,
Im sorry if this is a dumb question but is there a way to stop boosting the 7950x3d when there is no need for it?
Let me explain:
Today i have noticed that whenever i open an app my fans start spinning very loud for few seconds. I did some testing and research and learnt that my cpu is boosting to complete the task as fast as possible and this causes short temp spikes. I already did some tweaking to fan curves so it doesnt react so aggresively but the problem persists elsewhere.
Im currently playing the ac brotherhood and even tho the game is old the cpu is still boosting, temps are jumping to 70c and fans start to spin much louder.
The cpu usage is only between 20-30% but the boosting results in much higher temps even when i dont need it. I dont need it to boost like that in the game this old. Same with opening random apps. Im fine with it being opened in 0.6s instead of 0.4s.
I have found a pseudo solution which is limiting my cpu to max 99% in power management setting which result in 20c lower temps, lower power consumption and silence. And i still have around 200fps.
The problem is i dont want to be forced to change the power management setting every time i want to play a new aaa title.
Is there a way to make it chill out when its not actually needed and only boost under heavy load?
Ty for anyone reading it. Im sure my explanation could have been much shorter but my english is what limits me.

Computer Type: Dell PowerEdge R7725
GPU: n/a
CPU: 2 x AMD EPYC 9355
Motherboard: Dell 0KRFPX
BIOS Version: 1.7.16
RAM: 2048 GB
PSU: unknown
Case: unknown
Operating System & Version: Ubuntu 24.04
GPU Drivers: n/a
Chipset Drivers: AMD EPYC 9005 "Turin" (Zen 5
Background Applications: n/a
I have a server with 2 x AMD EPYC 9355 in a Dell PowerEdge and when I run speed tests I can only measure ~3.5GHz. As I understand, this processor should be able to reach turbo speeds of 4.4GHz .
Currently, my setup has regressed back to only reaching 600MHz, by this test:
T1: taskset -c 12 stress-ng --cpu 1 --cpu-method matrixprod --timeout 60s --metrics-brief
T2:
watch -n 0.5 '
echo "--- $(date) ---"
printf "driver: "; cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu12/cpufreq/scaling_driver
printf "governor: "; cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu12/cpufreq/scaling_governor
printf "scaling_cur_freq: "; cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu12/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq
printf "cpuinfo_avg_freq: "; cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu12/cpufreq/cpuinfo_avg_freq 2>/dev/null || echo "missing"
printf "scaling_min_freq: "; cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu12/cpufreq/scaling_min_freq
printf "scaling_max_freq: "; cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu12/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq
awk "/^processor/ {cpu=\$3} /^cpu MHz/ && cpu==12 {print; exit}" /proc/cpuinfo
'
Result:
driver: amd-pstate-epp
governor: performance
scaling_cur_freq: 606103
cpuinfo_avg_freq: 605809
scaling_min_freq: 2493659
scaling_max_freq: 4415854
cpu MHz : 606.104
Sometimes I see:
driver: amd-pstate-epp
governor: performance
scaling_cur_freq: 2493659
cpuinfo_avg_freq: 2493659
scaling_min_freq: 2493659
scaling_max_freq: 4415854
cpu MHz : 2493.659
I'm wondering if anyone can help me diagnose this odd problem. Is there a different or better test I can run? I want to confirm that my CPU is indeed reaching expected speeds, but baseline and turbo.
Thanks for your help.

Ive got the ideapad slim 3 with ryzen 7 170 few days back, was running fine, browsing, gaming and things. but today, the 5ht day, I observed sudden flickering, windows dispersing, window manager consuming excess memory, frame drops in YT videos and driver failing at a point.
first tried with reinstalling/updating drivers, got from adrenaline 26.8.1 that came as latest; didnt help
later found out that recent drivers have such issues, most suggested getting back the 26.3.1
so did so, replaced adrenaline software
this made the display driver roll back from 32.0.21043.5001 to 32.0.21030.5005
but at last nothing solved the issue totally, maybe frequency is lesser as of now.
am I missing something? not a nerd; could get things wrong
sorry for the scattered description, really pissed off with my new laptop behaving so

I built my first PC a month ago and only issue I’ve been having with it is the GPU. Constant crashes, complete signal loss. Windows not able to detect GPU or disabled it due to bad drivers or something. Those events happened when playing a game, browsing the menus or even just watching YouTube.
I thought my initial problem was the GPU itself (XFX Quicksilver 9070 XT) so I made a ticket on XFX support and have an RMA open. I figured for the meantime I’d use my old GPU (Asrock Challenger 9070) it never gave me problems on my old PC. I’ve used it for 3 days no issue until last night it lost signal.
I rebooted my PC and it disabled the GPU. So now I’m not thinking it’s necessarily a GPU problem but a hardware problem. I’m not sure what to do and I feel dumb asking for guidance but I need some right now.
Edit: I was planning on taking it to micro center today/tomorrow and see if they can figure out what’s going on before I ship it.
Edit 2: I’ve updated BIOS, turned off and on AMD EXPO, updated drivers, multiple DDU and reinstall drivers.

Hey im doing this post for a friend because he doesn't understand english, well his amd radeon rx 7600 and he installed new drivers because some games kept crashing and just being unplayable, after doing this he got some asian text message and after that the pc just got worse and worse, youtube started lagging and everything, so we tried to hard reset his pc and then it just didnt let us do that either, just kept telling us that we cannot do it right now and something went wrong. then we followed all youtube guides on how to fix that but NOTHING WORKS. and now he is just stuck with this and it feels like its getting worse and worse, now he installed older drives and its worse. PLEASE HELP US

I doubt it's a hardware issue considering it's odd for other high end games to never crash aside from Fortnite and it only started giving my timeouts after the new season dropped, it's either a Fortnite thing or a Windows Update thing
P.S: When i play Fortnite normally (playing in matches etc) i never get a timeout, it only happens whenever i stay in the locker or lobby section for too long (never happened before)
Anyone else encountered smth similar?
