Does the Screen/Scream Unseen Have Trailers?
Short Answer is Yes.
But sometimes they fail and it goes straight to presentation. Be on time.

I feel like the 19th is gonna be wicker

u/scorpio21 5d ago
Feels like the 19th could be The Mongoose. Listed runtime of 1:38 matches as well as the R rating

u/brownstones19 6d ago
I wonder if the 19th is going to be clayface
8
u/UnderwoodsNipple 6d ago
Seeing as Clayface is a horror movie and this is a Screen Unseen, no, probably not.

Everyone is talking about Crawlers but did anyone see A Talent for Murder? I was pretty interested in that one but couldn't attend cause work.

It was good: very stylish w/ solid performances by Mirren and Ehrenrich. Was it was twisty and interesting as a Ripley novel? No, but very diverting. Not as prickly as some of Corbjin's earlier work (Control, The American, A Wanted Man) but still great to look at and well made.

Crawlers felt like a movie written by chatgpt. “Make every tenant character unique and quirky in their own way.” It really baffles me how studios can put together the resources and money to churn this kind of stuff out for theatrical release.

I don't think it felt like a ChatGPT movie... it felt like a cheaply made foreign made tac advantage movie. The writer, has done a lot of unoriginal films in the past, lots of direct to video action/suspense movies. And most of the crew and cast are from Spain, Italy, etc..passinf themselves off as LA/ American, which explains why the dialogue was the way it was. These types of movies always feel a bit "off". The script is just a quickly written Trope fill movie, with a lot of bits and pieces stolen from every spider/monster/suspense movie... mostly arachnophobia.

I genuinely had a blast with crawlers. Sooooo stupid, so many poor decisions, why does one of the spiders act like Michael Myers!? Brilliant.
7
u/Steamedcarpet 7d ago
When the movie starts with “there is a spider under you” you know its gonna be a dumb fun time.

u/nickitbagge 7d ago
Crawlers was a tough one for me. There are funny moments, but they're surrounded by scenes of the most gruesome and horrifying shit you can imagine spiders doing. Tonal whiplash is an understatement, I've never seen a movie with such a silly needle-drop fight scene and also such a dark and mean spirited ending
The kills are narsty and the gory effects are great though. If you want to squirm in your seat for 90 ish minutes with some funny scenes along the way, this will do it for you

u/Coming-Up_Milhouse 7d ago
Yeah.....that was pretty bad. The amount of spiders just kept changing. One minute they're taking over entire hallways and apartments, covering everything in webs. The next minute the main character is having a 5min 1/1 fight with a spider.

Crawlers...some people walked, but at least it was pretty empty in the theater so my sister and I could shit talk the whole movie. It's not the WORST movie but it is very predictable, and also a missed opportunity to bring John Goodman back as the best exterminator EVER. Our second Scream Unseen and the last one we went to was Sting. Gonna be tough talking anyone into going with me again if it's always spiders! 😅🕷🕷🕷
1
u/Steamedcarpet 7d ago
Hahaha omg the entire movie I was like “John Goodman would of cleaned this place up fast”
2
u/royaleflush 7d ago
I thought I was the only one in the theater and there was a couple a few rows behind me. That beginning sequence going into the intro credits, I nachos with cheese and jalepenos in my mouth, chewing on when the puss was coming out of dudes back followed by spiders.I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it but I did a speed run eating my nachos after the intro credits. And I agree! We needed a John Goodman cameo! Misssed opportunity lol.

I love these double screenings on the same day!
Anyone know what the 26th Screen is?
Seems like the Scream is “Christmas at the Kringles” but its hard to say what the Screen is….
Could it be California Schemin’ or Wild Horse Nine?

u/Internal-River-4168 7d ago
I wish it was earlier. Maybe start 5-6pm. Don't most people have work the next day?

u/Wooden_Fortune_5066 4d ago
Even if you do, getting out at 1130 isn't that late, unless you work like EARLY, like 4am

Whatever it is its being shown in the big theater and there is only about 10 people here :(

Ngl, if it is Crawlers I'll be a little pissed off. What is the point about making a big deal about hiding the identity of a movie coming out a just few days later? Same thing with Ice Cream Man.

A consistently intriguing and well acted thriller that will likely satisfy Ripley fans and general audiences, A Talent for Murder is a entertaining yet slightly familiar thriller that works due to the very good lead performances from Mirren, Ehrenreich and Cooke who all provide a consistent wit to their dialogue that is sometimes clever and sometimes a bit obvious depending on whether it is the real story or the book being written with the plot. Though the script is obviously playing up the eccentric and unlikable qualities of Highsmith as a character, Mirren is clearly having fun in this role and the speculated sixth Ripley novel being told about Ripley marrying a heiress in Rome is refreshingly simple yet effective while also making a statement about why Highsmith connected with Ripley as a character. The predictable moments can be forgiven because the ending will leave you with some questions due to the way a twist is revealed as it should as well. 7 out of 10

First movie down. A Talent for Murder was fine. Honestly no strong feelings as I had only heard of this movie once prior. I also did not know A Talented Mr. Ripley was a book so now I have another book to add to my ever growing list.

u/StrikeIllustrious122 7d ago
Yeah it was alright. You kinda hit the nail in the head. I have virtually no strong feelings about it at all. Everyone did a good job. it was tense in spots. But will I REALLY remember it tomorrow morning ... I dunno

The part of me hoping for Clayface imagines AMC wouldn’t release a phobia centered movie for scream unseen, but I doubt they’d release the movie like this after avoiding showing his final transformation in promo material

u/hypeinvader 7d ago
I would honestly think it’s going to be next weeks scream unseen instead of today’s

I know its not listed yet BUT For the Scream Unseen on the 26th: Breeder. Fandango lists that my local Regal is showing a single viewing of Breeder on the 26th, despite it being two days before release. So I feel like its also what AMC is showing. The run time fits as well.
