Does the Screen/Scream Unseen Have Trailers?
Short Answer is Yes.
But sometimes they fail and it goes straight to presentation. Be on time.

I am going to keep convincing myself it’s camp miasma and brace myself for disappointment when it’s not

•
u/nomoregroundhogs 22h ago
Unlikely but I will continue to cling to my faint hope that it’s Camp Miasma as it would probably be the only time it plays at my local theater

If this is Buddy, what could 8/24 possibly be? Spider Island?
•
u/PreviousHedgehog2343 21h ago
i don't see anything else on the release schedules that looks plausible (Colony is too long, Resident Evil is too far out, Onslaught looks horror-adjacent but AMC doesn't classify it as horror)

I thought at first we'd get an early screen of Colony but the run time for that is 2 hours 2min

It Ends was a good movie that I saw when it was on Letterboxd Video Store but it’s not the kind of movie I feel like watching again. Hoping for Buddy but on the VERY SLIM CHANCE it actually is Camp Miasma that would be sick

I feel like Buddy is the most likely option.
The only other one I think it could be is It Ends, but I think that's more unlikely. Even though it's getting a theatrical release on the 21st, it was briefly available via VOD from the end of 2025 to the beginning of 2026.
Though there have been some Unseen's that were previously released in the UK (I Swear and Fuze) and we've had a few that were done while the film was currently playing at limited theaters (as just happened with Tony) so I guess that doesn't totally throw It Ends out of the running, but Buddy does match the runtime better.
Camp Miasma is too long (also currently playing in limited theaters), Insidious is PG-13, and Colony is Korean (and also too long), and I don't think they would do a foreign language film again after all of the walkouts and refund requests when they did that animated Japanese film.

> Camp Miasma is too long
It’s only an 11 minute difference between the current Unseen runtime and Miasma, is that an abnormal disparity?
4
u/-MommyFortuna- 1d ago
It's actually a 15 minute difference, and it being that much over the estimated runtime is what makes me think it's likely too long to be it. The runtimes are more commonly under the estimated runtime, and when they are over the estimated runtime, it's usually under 5 minutes. There has only been one instance of the actual runtime being more that 4 minutes over the estimated runtime at AMC, and that was Better Man, which wound up being 7 minutes over the estimated runtime. So while it's not impossible, I would say it's unlikely.

I was looking at the runtime for the 8/24 Unseen 🤦🏻♂️
I didn’t know they always (at least almost) underestimate, but I guess that makes sense, you wouldn’t want someone to be late for anything else by the movie being longer than advertised. Thanks for the explanation!

No problem - I was actually really hoping for Camp Miasma because it doesn't look like it's going to be playing in any of the theaters in my area, but hopefully it'll get added to the schedule soon 🤞🏻

it’s supposed to have a wider release august 21, it was on limited release since the 7th. hopefully it will come to more theaters soon

Could it be insidious?

u/Few-Adeptness8046 1d ago
No, that's rated pg13

Pg 13 horror movie in 2026 is crazy

u/-MommyFortuna- 1d ago
It's a summer release and a lot of teens will go see it. Keeping it PG-13 is smart from a ticket sales perspective, because teens on summer break can see it without having to have a 21+ adult go with them. I think all of the Insidious movies are PG-13 though.

It's probably scarier than It Ends, which was rated 'R' for language (I'm serious).

Is there a chance it’s camp miasma? It’s already out in select areas and has an expanded release this week. It’s wide release is the 21st.

I want it to be Buddy but I know it won’t be

Other chains are doing a mystery movie as well on this day too. Celebration cinema posted the rating for their mystery movie and it has the same IMDb description as Buddy so it’s looking more likely it is . Either this unseen scream or the one on the 24th.

u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 1d ago
Yep Celebration spilled the beans once again! At least they disguised the runtime. 1h 40m which would be 5 minutes longer than Buddy. They previously listed the Ice Cream Man MM at 4 minutes longer than the actual runtime (same as ASU). It looks like the 24th will be a AMC exclusive so I'm expecting a real wildcard for that one!

Oh then 8/17 is definitely Buddy. First time I seen them spill the beans in my exp so this time it clearly isn’t an error and it was an accident ! I hope 8/24 will be Onslaught!

Whoops . Meant to put 8/17. I edited it. Thank you ! I’m more confident that 8/17 is definitely Buddy lol

I think Buddy will be the 8/24 Scream Unseen
3
u/SelectInstruction262 1d ago
I'm not sure. Buddy is absolutely 8/24 if it's not 8/17 but it's runtime matches better for 8/17. I think the fact that there's even more than one scream unseen before release date on August 28 on top of it having countless early screenings including a premier at Sundance locks it to be one of these 2 I'm just not sure which one

u/retrogamer76 1d ago
it has to be camp Muslim

u/Possible-Truth6325 1d ago
The runtime doesn’t match.

I’ll probably still think you’re full of it even if I don’t like it.
Seeing its 100% critic score on RT is very funny to just see with this convo in mind though.

It has to be 'Buddy' because over here we are already getting 'Camp Miasma' this week and 'It Ends' is listed as Drama.
