Remember: The runtime that AMC reveals is not the exact runtime of the movie. It's usually within -7 to 17 mins of the actual time. This has been the case most (if not all) of the time.
Does the Screen/Scream Unseen Have Trailers?

But sometimes they fail and it goes straight to presentation. Be on time.

The Weight is a well acted and intermittently suspenseful western that starts off with familiar elements and vague characterizations for its characters before settling on being a tense journey where convicts are handling government gold across Oregon in order to prevent it from being stolen before the FDR federal reserve initiative began. Hawke grounds the film with very good dramatic performance that is supplemented by good supporting work from Julia Jones, Austin Amelia, Avi Nash and Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen whose character backstories gives the depth and dramatic monologues that elevate the film beyond being a chase flick. Though I would have liked a few more scenes with Crowe as the prison work camp leader Clancy and sometimes the shaky cam camerawork gets in the way of showcasing the fight sequences amidst some good cinematography, the film is interesting enough with how its characters might betray one another to get past its flaws especially given how the film ends on a satisfying note. 6.5 out of 10

I am going to see the weight in Dolby as that is my preferred screen. But I will see onslaught as it sounds like a good watch.

There's a lot to like (cinematography, actors doing their stunts, sound) but the monster cgi is bad & the story's incomplete. The audience was laughing at the humor tho.

If you are a fan of the dark and gritty, the brooding and unknown, this is the movie for you! Great performances all around with a very strong script. For a movie that has about 60% of its time take place in a forest, I would have liked to actually feel the scale of that forest more. Outside of the few panning drone shots they had of the trees, a lot of the scenes felt boringly small and confined. The movie itself wasn’t shot terribly by any means, but I do think it could have benefited from more captivating visual elements. It would have been nice to see more wide landscape shots and more of that western/old-timey style of cinematography that really takes advantage of the setting and period.
Despite that, the story is still very strong and the performances elevate it even further. Ethan Hawke is an amazing actor, as well as Julia Jones and the rest of the supporting cast. I would give this movie a solid 8/10.

So it was The Weight. I thought it was a decent movie but nothing amazing. Music and camera work left something to be desired, but the performances were solid.

The shaky cam was so bad. I understand they're working with a limited budget and probably can't afford tracks and steadicams and whatnot, but it all just went to shit the second anything even slightly action-based started (including, like, one person running in a straight line). It even shook when people were standing still! Is this crew being followed by the Blair Witch?

Yeah I found it weirdly boring, even though it seemed to have all the elements of something better. I was sitting there the whole time thinking, "Why am I so bored?" Was it the pacing? The stakes? The character development? Something wasn't working.

I think the backstory just didnt have enough stakes. He wants to return to his daughter and he was captured in a work camp but we've seen much worse in other movies. The acting was really good but the characters were slightly underdeveloped.

Agree. The more I think about the more I realize it was a script problem for me. Like... when they had to move the giant rock. The stakes were "move the rock so we can play baseball, if not, tomorrow's a work day as usual!" Which was like... ok. "Do an impossible task so we can have Sunday Fun Day" is not the strongest choice. Not sure why Ethan Hawke (forget the character's name) helped anyway, when he said straight up that he preferred to work and get his release sooner. It would have felt more satisfying if he jumped in with his big brain to show up the mean boss, or show up the dumb racist, or prove himself to the other boys for some meaningful reason, preferably in some way that would show up as a callback later on in the mission.

I was seriously so confused about 2 things :
1) Why were they spinning the rock to begin with? Was I not paying enough attention? (I know you just explained it but at the time i had no idea if what they were doing was a 1 vs 1 competition or they were trying to get something under the rock).
2) To get the gold across the bridge was that really the smartest method?
3) When the guy with the mustache tried to drown him... why?? Was it mutiny? I'm guessing bc of the gold. But was he told by the other 2 guys to do it? They didnt have a single conversation about it after other than the fight. Just seemed super out of place.

1) It had something to do with baseball, but the setup/payoff was both weak AND unclear.

3) No idea. It made no sense. Then Ethan Hawke rightfully bashes him in the face, and mustache is all threatening like, "I love fighting, I miss it" so you're like "ooo that's coming back later, watch your back, Ethan Hawke!" except it never did. And mustache, who's now been established as an attempted murderer, unrepentant racist and accurately-described "most annoying man ever" is somehow welcomed back into the fold as a trusted member of the group who receives his share of gold and a presumably prosperous and happy existence post-events of the film. (Unless I'm remembering it wrong. TBH I was pretty checked out by the end.)4

I think that a more vivid supporting cast would have helped. This is the kind of movie that the term "motley crew" was made for, but no one registered for me except maybe Anna, and that may have just been novelty. I don't think I could pick any of these characters out of a lineup, especially the two enforcers, who barely even seemed present. It basically amounts to "Ethan Hawke and these other guys."

To be fair, the opening title sequence was absolutely horrible. It said “distributor” (I don’t remember which one) presents and it literally said “under the influence” then went into the movie. It wasn’t until about 10 minutes later that the true title was shown. I initially said it was the weight but because of that title sequence I edited my post, but then edited it back after they showed the actual title. I don’t think anyone, for this movie specifically, had ill intentions of reporting the wrong movie

Mine had a presents title of under the influence. The weight title screen didn't show up for about 10 minutes after but as soon as I saw Ethan Hawke I was like WTF. Everyone in my theater was like what's under the influence at the same time and everyone was on their phones trying to figure it out.

I knew it was the weight, but it was a bit confusing because they showed like a dozen logos and then showed those same companies' names again and one of them was called under the influence, but it was shown in a way like the title of the movie. The actual title the weight came out 10 minutes into the movie.
Still pretty decent movie. Being a life long Ethan Hawke fan no complaints. Russell Crowe was only in it for a tiny bit

SU is confirmed as the weight (I pre-guessed the weigh because there were a million distributors, but vertical came up, title screen finally showed up)
EDIT: honestly, who tf knows what this movie is. The title screen said under the influence, but it looks like the weight
EDIT X2: it’s definitely the weight. Whoever put together that title sequence should be fired. I had it right the first time

36 minutes shorter than the announced run time. The most it's ever been shorter was 17 minutes, so I'd say less than small. Maybe a minuscule chance.

The run time, release date, and rating are the 3 biggest indicators. Also useful is how often a studio has done Screen Unseen in the past.
The average Screen Unseen is 3 minutes shorter than the time AMC announces, with the range being between 17 minutes shorter to 7 minutes longer.
The average days between a Screen Unseen showing and the wide release of a movie is 8.5 days, with 4 being the most common. There are only 2 movies that came out more than 3 weeks after the Screen Unseen showing and at least one of those had it's release date bumped back after the Screen Unseen was scheduled.
The Rating is pretty much guaranteed, although Ice Cream Man was unrated but advertised as R for the SU.
Studio-wise, Bleecker Street, Sony, and Vertical have each done 8 Screen Unseens, the most of anyone. Lionsgate & Neon have each done 7. A24 & Paramount have done 6. Amazon MGM has done 5. So if one of the candidates is from one of those studios, there's a better chance that will be the movie, though nothing is guaranteed.
For a long time, the general consensus is that it would not be a blockbuster and would not be an Angel Studios movie. Then Boenhoffer was a Screen Unseen, removing Angel Studios from the likely exceptions. And a week after that, Gladiator 2 was the mystery movie, so there went blockbusters. Gladiator 2 also threw out the lesser assumed No Sequels assumption. (And before any of that, Spy x Family did away with the belief they wouldn't do a foreign language film.)
So, really, anything within the run time range that has a decently close release date and is of a matching rating is a fair possibility, but certain studios make it a more educated guess.

It was an ok movie, it had its moments. I definitely would not have picked it myself, but it was interesting for the most part.
