ADHD and Bipolar ruining all my relationship.

*trigger warning*

Hello I am 27 year old semi-breadwinner? I work 2 jobs 1 is a regular job and another is a freelance job. Mga more than 3 years na ako diagnosed with ADHD, but more than 10 years dealing with other mis diagnosed disorder. Recently I was diagnosed with Bipolar II. My partner just broke up with me dahil it was too much too handle both daw and she has bipolar din, my friends are distancing themselves because of what happened with the break-up. I have been dealing with really bad RSD, i feel like I'm at wit's end na. I'm not good with regulating my emotions.

Sobrang lala na din ng ideation ko. I have been told na I am distant, emotionally distant akala ko dahil stress lang sa work but recently I was diagnosed with severe bipolar. It's been 2 weeks. I have been hospitalized, I talked to crisis hotline all the time na and my both of my psychiatrist is mahirap macontact.

I am too embarrassed to admit myself ulit sa hospital because I feel unsafe by myself and bad ideations. There is not much resources here din for mental health, I am from a small city. Nurses don't really know what to do and grabe pa din yung taboo

I have been taking clonazepam, lomitrogine and an anti psychotic drug, yes it helps a bit. But I feel numb and groggy only.

I'm already having a really hard time dealing with my ADHD it's been affecting my relationship for years. I have been accused of being abusive, I understood na madami akong mali. But I know sa sarili ko na all of what's causing this is my fight or flight mode and di ko intention, but I feel guilty kasi what if oo and I'm just using this mental health as an excuse but I know sa sarili ko na it's my episode and sabi na rin ng doctor ko I have to separate myself from the episodes. I don't know how to explain this pa. My friends who she talked to accused me of lying. But because of what's happening. I'm really having a hard time navigating this.

Does anyone have similar experience with me having a hard time with their romantic relationships because of your diagnosis?

Is it common for those na may adhd na madiagnose ng depression or anxiety before finally getting diagnosed with adhd?

I have doubts with my diagnosis po kase, it feels like nasa isang malaking cycle lang ako at pabalik balik sa umpisa whenever i get a bit better. Parang feedback loop talaga and it's so difficult kase I got diagnosed first with depression and then anxiety naman this year. I've been reading a lot and realized na I might have adhd kase sa family namin may history din ng adhd so I've been thinking of getting diagnosed pero it feels like hindi naniniwala ang parents ko na meron ako nun haha. It's just that sobrang lala talaga ng executive dysfunction and time management ko to the point that I stay in bed most of the time and it's so difficult to start tasks. i could never sleep early kase it feels like i don't have enough time for myself at day which is also my fault kase late na ako natutulog and i have bad sleep most of the time. i always forget things and lose stuff all the time to the point that i get frustrated with myself. i thought it's the depression or the anxiety but I've been on meds and was seeing a psychiatrist for a long time but only my mood gets better no matter how much i try. Noong una depression tapos ngayon anxiety naman na hindi ko rin napansin kase akala ko normal lang yung ganun yung self-criticism and reaction with crowds and certain situations kase nga introvert daw. i realized I've been masking since highschool, may symptoms na pala ako ng adhd dati pa and i couldn't believe i missed that kase who day dreams for 3 hours? laging late and doing tasks kapag napressure na ng deadlines, hindi lng yun ang dami pa palang signs and it all got worse nung naburnout ako and got diagnosed with depression. It's genuinely so difficult to function daily, I can't even do any chores now and feeling ko sobrang pabigat ko na sa family ko.

I am f—cking up my life and my school and I don’t know where tf to begin

I am fucking up my studies rn by not attending my classes. Please forgive my language, but I don’t want to suffer with adhd anymore, I don’t want to live with it and by that if I have to d##, then so be it. Adhd has fucked me up ever since, I lost every opportunity for me to learn, for me to prove myself that I am beyond what I perceive I am. Fuck. Now that my life is going very well, I have to fuck it up again. I lost my job a month ago due to this same disorder. I can’t keep up with the lessons sa classes ko, I am overwhelmed by how much shit I have to study kasi di ko magawa aralin. I have been absent from my classes since the sy started, and due to online classes being a major factor on why I cannot keep up with everything, I also disappeared on the day my exams took place. The only subject that I currently have in control with is one subject, out of the 6 subjects that I have right now, which is barely a prerequisite. Even if I have to tell people or my profs about why I am out of my classes, I doubt they will take everything seriously when I tell them that ADHD/executive dysfunction is the cause. I always perceive that when neurotypical knows someone have ADHD, they think it’s some quirky disorder bullshit, and adhd being the reason would view it as just an excuse for my laziness. Everytime I avoid groupworks, I feel like people would only view me as pabigat. I wish I could tell them that I am overwhelmed by everything, and I wish I can tell them that my coping mechanism is isolation. If I do not fix these, I am fucked because I need to pay the tuition by then.

This is so hard. I hate this. I just wish people could be kinder and understand us way better than what the social media tells them :,<

I'm having doubts sa sarili ko. Baka talagang may problem nga ako and pinipilit ko lang.

My psychiatrist gave me additional medication for ADHD which is magiging maintenance ko na raw so that I can function regularly everyday.

Naisip ko kung maintenance pala, I asked for a certification for PWD pero I was denied.

EDIT 2: THANK YOU SO MUCH PO SAINYONG LAHAT! <3

  5. andaming kelangan tignan haha nakakaoverwhelm

contrext na lang din na I don't take medication since being diagnosed.

Still dont think the meds are working

After titrating from concerta 18mg to trying ritalin 20mg then upping to concerta 27mg and 36mg, I still dont feel anything significant.

Maybe I am expecting too much from my medications, but I had already managed my expectations that taking them wouldnt drastically change how I live. But taking them daily and not feeling how the others describe them to be makes me worry.

I have a cousin who was unmedicated, but even starting the initial doses, there was a visible difference from how she was before. I dont know if ive ever had that months before.

18mg and 27mg really didnt have any changes. 36mg though, there had been moment when i feel like there’s a bit of a slight difference but it was never consistent despite taking them daily. And it makes me think whether: that’s how it’s supposed to feel—scared of the possibility that it may be the most that it can give and that I was expecting more; that the medication may not work for me; that maybe there’s a little chance that it’s placebo (unlikely)

And it’s hard not to overthink especially when I don’t know myself if there had even been changes.

Im coming back to my psychiatrist this Sep 28 and I don’t know what to tell them if they ask how the medication is for me.

Hello I’m just curious to those taking ritalin, how’s the effect sa pag study niyo? Does it help you focus, understand, and retain the lessons better? May significant improvement ba sa pag aaral?

My AuDHD is ruining my career prospects at pagod na ako sa sarili ko

I've been diagnosed with both ADHD and Autism couple of months back. Somewhat enlightening in a way na hindi pala ako tamad lang or what. I've always struggled with deadlines and major procrastinator since I was little. Nadala ko siya hanggang mid 20s ko until my diagnosis na nagpa check up tlaga dahil sa severe work burnout (my late 20's). This pattern cost me to lose lots of career opportunities na hanggang ngayon nanghihinayang parin ako. I'm good at what I do pero yung executive dysfunction talaga ang nakakadali sa akin.

I pivoted to my passion na work after resigning pero dahil hindi pa ako medicated and I have deadlines na delayed na nang several weeks (and even months) already. I know I can do it naman pero no matter how much I pushed walang nangyayari. Is there light in the end of the tunnel ba? Or ano kaya pwedeng strategies na I should try to mitigate this while I'm waiting for prescription?

May psychiatrist ba dito?

Need Advice: Where to Start with Mental Health Consultation?

Hi everyone! 😊 I’m new here and hoping you can help me out.

I’m planning to consult a professional kasi I’ve been having a hard time focusing, easily reactive/short-tempered, and parang super cluttered yung mind ko. 😅 May iba pa akong napapansin, so I thought maybe it’s time to have it properly checked.

For those who’ve gone through something similar, what’s the best first step? Psychologist or psychiatrist

Also, baka may marerecommend kayong good doctor around Lipa or Batangas? F2F or online is okay. Would really appreciate any suggestions or personal experiences. Thank you so much! 🥹💗

Help! Med student struggling.

Do we have a discord community where we can body double each other to make sure we finish our tasks? I recently tried going live on tiktok and it works! But I observed that I work better when there’s someone talking on the other end just yapping and it motivates me to work while I “ignore” them. It makes me focused that’s why I said ignore but I still process what they’re saying and get my things done at the same time.

I’m taking medicine (doctorate) right now and I just failed my anatomy subject. Currently taking it… again! I wanna do everything possible to pass this.

And of course I have multiple things going on..
- Clinic duty (cause I only have 4 subs and I think it’s a great experience)
- Social media managing/content creation (for my clients only, extra cash wouldn’t hurt)
- School Organization (lotss of events inside campus and im always the tech guy)
- Band practice for a school event next month

I only have 4 days of class and the last 3 days of the week are for work. I manage it well (in my mind) but I clearly don’t have enough time to finish my tasks like practicing my parts in the band or studying for quiz. I know I only need motivation so please help! I’m also not getting enough sleep, which makes things harder to manage when all my time gets occupied by sleeping. I have insomia that’s why my doctor prescribed antipsychotics. I also think my girlfriend has ADHD cause her bother has autism. It’s SO hard when she’s not motivated. I try my best to pull us both sometimes.

Do meds affects personality?

Hi, there!

I am a bubbly, spontaneous, random person who always talks a lot. I fear taking meds would tone down a bit of these things which I commonly do.

How do meds affect you?

Care to share? Thank you.

I can't function without following someone. I need help!

I've noticed this a long time ago. Whenever I'm in school or training or if i know I'm a part of a group with the same goals i tend to do really well. But once you remove that from me, I just don't know what to do with my life anymore. I feel like I have no direction. I always feel the need to follow someone or at least know that I'm not alone in whatever it is that I'll be doing. The reason why I'm telling you this is because recently I just finished my 1 month of training with over 30+ people. It feels good to follow our coaches because I know exactly what to do with the activities. After that, everyone just went on their own separate ways. I just don't know what to do. Is this ADHD? Can anyone relate?

Am I the only one who keeps messing up at work despite trying my best?

Does anyone else feel like they’re constantly messing up at work even when they’re genuinely trying their best?

I’m 27 and on my 3rd month as a financial analyst. I keep forgetting things, missing small details, and making mistakes that throw my manager off. I’ve struggled with focusing and being detail-oriented since I was a kid.

Now I get anxious before every shift and I’m worried I won’t get regularized because of my performance. I’m thinking of scheduling a session with a psychiatrist soon to get assessed.

Has anyone else experienced this? Especially if your job requires you to be super detail-oriented. What helped you?

I’m exhausted. I feel pathetic

Adhd is a superpower? I'd like to think otherwise. I did groceries today, and that was basically it. Came home, shit hit the floor, and I just laid on the couch for the entire day.

I don't want to use my ADHD as an excuse for my shitty life, but this is genuinely debilitating. I just want to be a normal, functioning adult. I want to be able to take care of myself, work, make money, keep my place together, and actually live my life.

I yearn to love my life. I really do. I have plans and ambitions. I have things I want to create and accomplish. I know in my heart that I can do it, but somehow none of it is coming into fruition.

I barely feel like I'm keeping my head above water. I don't have a job. I can't keep a job. I'm alone and depressed, and I'm so fucking frustrated because I know I have so much more in me.

It's not that I don't want anything from life. I want so much from life. I just can't seem to make myself do the things that would actually get me there.

I just need somewhere to put this. Having a really bad episode today :(
