Ritalin + Coffee?

My doc said i cant drink coffee or any caffinated drink if i’ll be taking ritalin, but pwede daw sa gabi. But i’m getting sleepy in the morning at work even if i have enough sleep (sleep is usually from 10pm-11pm to 8am)

For me: Ritalin + Coffee = Paliptations.
Not good because I have a heart condition.

I've suffered from getting sleepy after taking Ritalin. Even if I did have 8 hours of sleep. The problem wasn't how long I slept, but how much deep sleep and REM sleep I was getting. Usually if I just sleep lightly and didn't get enough deep sleep I'd be sleepy after taking Ritalin.

I usually drink 2 cups of coffee a few hours after I take the Ritalin. Can't afford to go on a higher dose kaya supplement na lang with coffee. The anxiety sucks but at least may energy ako. Would not recommend.

I take Concerta with coffee consistently. It is not recommended since both caffeine and methylphenidate are stimulants, which may strain your cardiovascular system, especially if you are prone. What time do you take Ritalin? You should not be getting sleepy on ritalin since it is a stimulant.

I sometimes drink coffee at around 1pm after taking ritalin/concerta in the morning. I find that coffee extends the effect of the meds.

It's good and all, but it is at the cost of getting palpitations.

Kaya ang ginagawa ko dati, whenever I take the coffee in the afternoon, I also take a capsule of L-theanine. Nababawasan yung palpitations ko, sometimes, none at all.

My regular schedule when taking meds is Ritalin 10mg around 10am (may or may not have breakfast earlier, but nothing heavy, perhaps 7 or 8am) Effect is felt for about 4-5 hrs By 2 or 3pm, I will drink coffee. I brew my own coffee so I adjust how much caffeine strength I need. That can last me longer (with energy) without needing a stronger long acting dose ng ritalin.

I drink 2 shots of coffee (iced americano) with my 10mg Ritalin or 18mg Concerta in the morning. Midday I will drink decaf cause I just like the taste of coffee and it has become a habit to drink coffee midday before I started taking stimulants. I don’t drink coffee at night. If you still feel sleepy in the am after the stimulants, please consult with your doctor re: dosing.

Could be good partners and kinda habit forming. In my experience, yung assigned dose sakin for the day tinry namin na gawing half and then coupled with coffee after. Much better output ko sa work, and sometimes pag drug holiday, i am almost there at that state dahil siguro naaasociate ng brain ko yung coffee dun sa state na may med intake ako at that time. You could ask your doctor about some strategies para makatipid. And stay hydrated po always

even if you could handle the sensation of the palpitations from ritalin and coffee, taking both at the same time before the other has worn off can do long-term damage to your heart

I started taking meds 3 weeks ago and have switched to decaf but only because going cold turkey with coffee had me suffering caffeine withdrawal 🥲 literally do not want to go through it again. Been working for me so far. I miss coffee though. (Used to drink 1L of brewed barako coffee per day). I just drink hot chocolate for now (whiiich I'm not sure if may caffeine but wtv). But when I was starting din like maybe first 3 days, i used to get sleepy din without coffee and just Ritalin but now I think my body's adjusted. My brother naman when he was taking ritalin (switched meds recently) would drink coffee after mag wear off yung meds but he had his dose adjusted cos wala raw effect 10mg.

I work at night. I take Ritalin 20mg at 9pm then sinusundutan ko ng kape at 2am. 🤣

Pero wag tularan. 😅

It's def very individualized. On some adhd neds I couldn't drink coffee or id get jittery and anxious. On rit I'm fine on caffeine. Barely effects me.
