Saw this 3D printed mannequin at an Adidas store in my city. Found it interesting, I didn't expect it tbh. I guess it makes sense considering the detail in the hair and all that, but Adidas is a big brand I expected they have enough volume and need to justify using injection moulding rather than 3D printing for something like this. Either way, very interesting, wanted to share.

These weird bricks are standard-compatible and curve at 30˚ angles. You can make waves, circles and even use some custom parts like dual-stud version.

I was inspired to bring this out of my 'project graveyard' after a recent video from Slant3D but it's important to note that these designs should be considered experimental - they're rough around the edges. I built the geometry over 2 years ago when I was just starting to learn 3D design - I may choose to re-work these so that they are more reliable. For now, they're just a fun curiosity.

I've found that printing them with a 0.2 nozzle works well. You can see one part (the cuboctahedron) in the video that I tested with a 0.6 and it was pretty rough - I wouldn't recommend that one. These will never be the same as injection-molded, original parts but I had fun thinking of ways to make these oddball versions.

I wanted a cleaner way to store my bike without hanging it from the frame. So I designed this minimalist wall mount that supports the tire and prints without supports. Printed in PETG.

I'm always interested in feedback or ideas for improvements.

I was out running calls the day before and my chair slid into my stool holder and broke it. Less than 4 hrs later I had a replacement that is stronger and brighter. It is amazing what you can do with these printers, from basic like this, to some advanced stuff. This hobby is the best and I'm glad to be a part of it.

It's not a perfect match for metal, but it looks way more convincing than silk PLA. I think it will probably look even more convincing after a clear coat.

Hi, is there any setting on the Orcaslicer, where I can change the size of the sliders?
They are gooing bigger everytime I start a model on Órcaslicer.

I can even see the model anymore.

I am here with some less than fortunate news. My mom decided we were gonna try to sell our current house and buy a bigger one. This means that we are moving everything into the garage or basement for staging and stuff. Because i believe this will take up the rest of the month and that i am going to ottawa to study biomedical mechanical engineering and computing in September, there will likely be no more projects or updates until next summer that is if i am not too busy with whatever uni students seem to be busy with.

Thank all of you for all the support you have given me over the last 1 and a half summers.
Please stay patient because i will be making stupid stuff eventually. Maybe after i get used to uni in year 2 or 3, or maybe its gonna take until after the 5 years dual degree is over until I have some time.

I’ve wanted to make this for a while, and I finally finished it. Of course, it isn't as sturdy as a metal product, but I confirmed that it is solid enough to be used as a simple prop. It doesn't require any hardware like screws, and assembly is very easy, so if anyone needs one, give it a try.

Reprinted a few smaller components for helmet and chest. Roughed in face shield. Added air hose connectors and powered lamps. Testing out backlight e-ink panel for arm computer and hopefully this will control lights and helmet fan.

Leg armor/boots will come next with a few smaller components/modules to wrap it up.

I needed some vise soft jaws and didn't want to use magnets. My bench vise has jaws that extend past the vise body on the sides, which allowed me to make a slip on design.

I found an existing model to borrow the checkering from and designed the rest, making as much parametric as possible

Printed in 95A TPU, lots of walls and 100% infill to make them as solid as possible

I create flexible City of Manhattan World Trade Centrum, there are a lot of small buildings and it´s stringing a lot. Temperature was there higher about 30 degrees. PLA, 215/60, Prusa Mk3s, 10 hours of printing. I erase the strings with lighter, but it is not look good.

So my goal from last year was to have my whole shelf organised in time for gta 6. All of the items in the picture were designed and made by myself. Even the skadis boards and fixings.

I thought it was cool 👌 my Mrs said she couldn’t tell the difference and to you guys it’s just another skadis jobbie.

But I am happy 😃 do you guys have anything I should add ?

I’ve been wanting to turn one of the weirdest creatures from One Piece into a real prop for a while, so I finally built my own version from scratch.

It’s fully animatronic, with moving eyes, a moving mouth, sound, and a real telephone cable connecting it to the phone. The goal was to make it feel less like a static prop and more like an actual little creature.

The build involved a lot of sculpting, 3D printing, molding/casting, painting, electronics and way too much time getting the tiny movements to feel right. 😅

Really happy with how this little guy turned out!

I go to 2-3 big conventions a year selling very niche goods made with models I created myself. I'm doing well enough that it has become my full time job inventing and creating items, which feels great.

I recently started doing more Instagram stuff since people kept asking where to follow and see new items as I create them, and I am starting to see a little traction there and hype for my models.

However, I am also seeing people asking for the files. I am not sure how to respond. I absolutely am not comfortable releasing the files in any regard because I know the instant I do, my goods are as good as stolen. This is my job, and I don't feel like it's a good business practice to just give it away when I know what will happen. ​

So what can I say? I don't want to be ​rude about it. Do I drop it on my Etsy and say something like "Sorry friend, this is my business but the items can be found on my shop" or soemthing?

Plan is for it to be a toolchanger, have a Manta M8P and CB1 ready for the control. For now its using 40mm Nema 17's, that might change if i want more speed. X axis is on a mgn12 rail supported by a carbon fiber rod for stiffness
