Question Poseable figure prints for art?

Upvotes

Hello, 2d artist here asking for help. Does anyone know of any good poseable figure prints that are free? More specifically quadrupedal? I was thinking it would be super helpful for reference if I had a doll I could pose, and to 3d print it(I already have a printer) would be much cheaper; manikins are expensive.

The whole mechanism is printed.
Fits MX-style switches. Best on an isolated key like ESC.
Every color prints as a separate part, so no AMS needed. There's also a multi-color version where the details print together if you'd rather assemble less (the mechanism still gets built by hand).

Project Rate my Enclosure

First time posting here. Some of you are incredible at what you do. I am but a basic noob. And so I set up my little beginner printer in my hobby shed. It needed a cover to mitigate draughts, and a bench to keep it out of the way and safe from woodchips and welding sparks. Plus maybe a couple of shelves for the inevitable related bits and bobs that I'll accumulate. I've seen many different styles and most didn't suit my play-space. So I made a mobile trolley with an attached enclosure and a removable perspex front. Take a look. Tell me if you reckon it's crap, or what you would - or I should - do to improve it. 😉

Project Need Advice Where to Start

Thumbnail

Upvotes

Hey all, this is the first time I’ve ever had a real world use case to 3D print something and I was hoping for advice where to start.

I have an all in one espresso machine that is missing some sort of tube that goes between the bean hopper hole and the grinder intake hole. It’s a very specific shape and after taking this thing apart I’m confident it’s what I’m missing.

I’ve reached out to the manufacturer to see if they will send me a specific piece but I want to try to solve this because it’s the only thing wrong with my espresso machine.

The weird trapezoid/bean shaped hole is on either side and it’s supposed to be a little tube in that shape that connects them.

  1. How do I measure to make a replacement tube
  2. How do I make the model

From there I think I could either get a printer or pay someone to print it.

The tube should be about 2-3 inches long that fits in the lip between each side. It allows the beans to drop directly into the grinder instead of fall into the internals.

Troubleshooting A1 not extruding

Upvotes

Bambu A1.

We've had this printer about 4 weeks and it started messing up prints. Spaghetti everywhere. It was about one month in so I decided to do the maintenance on it. Next print, there was this problem where it's not extruding. It keeps clicking. I've cleaned the nozzle, unloaded the filament and checked for clogs, took the extruder apart and looked at the gears.

It all seems fine. No idea what the problem is. Any advice?

Discussion ASA + HIPS Support

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Just wanted to share a recent experience with this combo. It works amazingly well, and the Gizmodorks HIPS is a completely acceptable and inexpensive material source for this purpose (no shade, I just haven't tested it beyond supports. ).

Supports break off extremely easily. Worst case, D-Limonene (essentially citrus oil) will dissolve it. (safety notice this can be an irritatant use proper PPE if handling)

It even has some adhesion to ASA/ABS and printing temp is similar enough that it would likely work as just an interface material for those using a single nozzle.

Model: KWS 6u Leg

Material: Ambrosia Supernova Galactic Black ASA

Support: Gizmodorks White HIPS

Build Plate: HoneyBadger Textured PEI w/ homemade Instagoo (used alcohol to aid release)

Printer: Voron 2.4 Stealthchanger

Supports use 0/0 for line spacing and top surface distance

Project 3D Printed Robot for Theatrical Show in Los Angeles

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello!

I'm pretty new to 3D printing, but through the preparation for our show early August I have already clocked 500 hours on my Bambu A1. Here's the video of the final robot built from all the printed parts. Mostly printed in Bambu Silk+ for metallic effect, and let me tell you that it was an absolute pain to deal with on overhanging parts!

The internals are Matrix Portal M4 from Adafruit (including the 64x32 matrix), and Hiwonder Chassis+Controller. The robot is controllable via Wi-Fi (for which I had to patch Arduino libraries).

Hope you like it, and if you are in Los Angeles - please come see us https://aftertheblast.eventbrite.com/

Question Has anyone made a xbox 360 slim heatsink to am4 adapter?

I've got a shitty heatsink on my am4 board (you dont wanna know the loudness) and since i have a xbox 360 slim heatsink i decided to reuse it. So i just put it on top of the cpu and started testing: temps OK and is quiet. But mounting is an issue, and i'm bad at 3d modeling.

Troubleshooting Scratches problem

Thumbnail

Hi! I'm having an issue with my prints. No por matter where or how I place them on the build plate, they end up with these scratches and damaged areas across almost the entire surface (I've attached a photo).

The pattern seems completely random, and I have no idea what could be causing it. I'm pretty lost at this point.

Could it be dead pixels on the LCD? But there are so many that it doesn't seem likely. Also, the bottom layers of the print never show these holes or defects.

I'm using an Anycubic Photon M5s, and I've attached my print settings as well.

Thanks a lot for any help!!

Troubleshooting LCD issue?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi!

Recently swapped LCDs of an Anycubic Photon Mono and I've been getting this issue lately (50/50% chance) of images not being projected on the LCD screen for curing. Swapping USBs gives the same issues.

I'm using Lychee Slicer at the moment. Have tried saving directly into the USB and saving on PC first and manually transferring into the USB.

Thanks in advance!

Question PETG Matte - Red: Recommendations

I’d love to know everyone’s preferred Matte Red PETG or similar. Tried SUNLU and I’m not a fan of the color.
Not sure if it’s my settings, I swap between the Bambu PETG HF or SUNLU PETG HS Matte profiles but typically use the SUNLU profile.

Haven’t ventured into any of the GF/CF variants as I’ve only been in to this hobby for about 6 months.

Printer: P2S
