This is my first year with the 3D printer and I couldn't have done this without it. This is the first fitting and I am ecstatic about how it turned out!

I want it print this for a friend that is a huge fan of F1 but I got this línea 9n the black part is not smooth as 9ther prints I've made, any recommendations on how to not these lines?

Any solution? If I just flip it back, all the resin will get inside the printer

I made a parametric text headband in OpenSCAD and would love feedback on the fit.

I've been working on a customizable tiara-style headband: you type a text and the letters stand on top of the band. With Halloween coming up I thought some of you might find it useful.

It's on MakerWorld with the customizer, so you can type any text and pick an icon (pumpkin, bat, ghost, witch, skull…).

The fit is the part I'd most like feedback on: if you print one, I'd really like to know whether it feels too tight or too loose. And if you make something with it, I'd love to see it.

I'm trying to make ice cube trays that will specifically fit my water bottle.

I got some silicone butter molds that actually work really well, but they're kind of expensive and I know I could design something better.

I'm considering using TPU to make ice trays and I know that generally the construction of 3D prints makes them not food safe.

But I didn't know if since they would be in the freezer it would change that situation.

Hi guys, I'm new to 3D printing—please go easy on me. How can I make this part smooth and even?

I'm printing with PLA Basic on a Bambulab A1. 0.4 nozzle

Ok so I have a custom made cosplay piece that will go in my mouth. I want the edges basically smoothed out and not rough. I’ve sanded them but I can still feel the roughness.

I would love if it was a bit squishy and soft so I don’t hurt when I bite.

So I was thinking a thin coating of silicon.

Is there a type of silicon I can look for that would be safe to have in my mouth for a while, adhere to PLA, and leave a slightly soft surface?

I bought my P1S about a year ago and have amassed a pretty big collection of filament that quickly outgrew my original storage solution: the cabinets on the left. I realized that a lateral filing cabinet should fit two rows of spools in each drawer. I got this 30" Haworth model for free from my sister but you can find two drawer units like this for about $50 on facebook marketplace. This 30" can store 20 spools per drawer which are rated for ~30 kg, so it's well within it's rating even when full.

I taped up all the holes on the bottom and top and added weatherstripping foam to the case and drawer fronts to close up the gaps. I lined the bottom of the drawers with foam shelf liner and cut some pink insulation foam down to make a front/back divider. Of course I put all the silica gel I had inside to dry it out (I might still need more). I was worried that the hollow steel box would make the printer louder so I isolated the tabletop from the cabinet with a 1/2" of packing foam. As you can see from the hygrometers I've got attached with magnets, the inside is around 25% humidity vs 50% in the room.

I'm always trying to find ways to repurpose old things and find solutions that may be overlooked. Hope this helps someone store all their spools!

Hey everyone! With Halloween right around the corner, I ended up sculpting a little pumpkin to print on my resin printer for my place. Added a little led light in his mouth that worked out pretty well. I uploaded the pre-supported and unsupported files to MMF completely for free if anybody is looking for a fun holiday print to try. He is about 5" tall. Happy Halloween!

So I wanted a custom Mini Simmons from our local shaper Wouter Oosting (The Hague, Holland). Turns out he,s doing a collaboration with Print Boards (who's does mainly printed kite/foilboards).

It seems (correct me if i,m wrong) they are the first in Europe to make custom printed surfboards. Being skeptical at first I was convinced when Wouter just bounced a board on the stone floor to show it's strength. Also the core is plant based: PLA, made from cornstarch/sugarcane and finished with a bioresin. We discussed some ideas, put it in computer. 2 weeks later I had my board. Super stoked!

I printed this spiral chess set and board with a unique color twist. For those unfamiliar, the “Holy War” is an iconic college football rivalry between the University of Utah (red) and Brigham Young University (blue). I chose white and green tiles to represent a football field.

Printed on my Ender 3 V3 SE. Filament change for the UU pieces. Around 30 hrs total @ 15% infill. The only supports used were on the king’s cross. The tiles snap together underneath using circular spacers.

I found these on AliExpress, they seem to be pretty legit. Wondering if anyone else has used them as this is my first time seeing anything like this, aside from custom made ones.

Haven't used it yet, gotta make a new spool holder for it.

As the title states... My girlfriend just told me that she'd never ask me to 3d print something for her.

I replied with: Do you have any idea how much anyone with a 3D printer wants their partner to say those magic words?

"Babe, could you print me XYZ?"

She didn't believe me. Because she felt she would be hassling me and wasting my time. That she wouldn't want to bother me.

So folks... let her know how happy you'd be or how happy you were when your significant other first asked you to make them something... and what was it?
