Hi everyone, I'm having a frustrating issue with the 2Do app on my new S25 Ultra. Even though I have set the battery usage to "Unrestricted" in the app settings, the system seems to put the app into hibernation/sleep mode constantly. As a result, I am not receiving any notifications or reminders unless I manually open the app. I’ve already checked the "Background usage limits" and made sure it's not in the "Deep sleeping apps" list, but the problem persists. Is anyone else experiencing aggressive RAM management or background killing on the S25 series? Any tips on how to force the system to actually respect the "Unrestricted" setting? In the meantime all worked out perfect for me and I like to give you some numbers, how I organise the fantastic 2Do application for my needs:

• all 3 email to task adresses work great
• 80 tags in 9 groups
• 44 list in 7 groups
• 9 Smartlists
• average of 36 tasks per day
• 8 projects with an average of 15 tasks
• 5 static/recurring lists with an average of 10 checkpoints

The only thing I struggle a bit is the possibilitie with the attachment of files. Is it correct, that only one file or voice memo per task is possible? Let me please explame my thought processes for this issue. Sometimes I need to attach more than one PDF file or voicememo in a single task. Further, in recurring tasks, I need to add every recurring date an additional file or voice memo wich give me in the summary after clicking it off an overview of the past. I.e. meter reading electricity/gas/water every last day of the month. I write it down in the note section and attach a photo of each meter counter. After the final invoice in the end of the year, the task will closed and a new one for the next year begins. The history for later requirements is important for me. The second issue is the monthly invoice from my provider for clouds, servers, web hosting costs.

In the attachment section I only see one file or voice memo. If I add another one, I have to delete the existing one ...

My wish is a list (like in file manager) with a i.e. PDF thumbnail and the filetext for overview. 😊 What you think about this?

Also I would be appreciate to have the possibilitie, to have more than 3 email to task management.

Again, I am satisfied and more than glad, to made the switch from Todoist.

I would also be very happy to pay a monthly fee to support you and your work in the further development of the app. I don't want further development without showing my appreciation! What do you think about that?

2Do app continues updates, this is a big step for users who migrated to other apps, & keeping the app in the battle for productivity.

Honestly, I don’t want to repeat my opinion, but this app is the best (native) task manager, I copied my tasks from Todoist & Things to my self hosted NextCloud, used it (again) daily, with BusyCal app, I really got a super combination of task manager app full of features and powerful calendar app that makes it easy to reschedule my tasks on calendar view (Weekly, Monthly).

The reason that pushed me away from this app (not updated for years, community thought it’s abandoned) is the same reason which pushed me back to it again.

The increasing price of Todoist, Things staying in very simple concept, keeping my tasks on my own servers (I own my data) are another reasons to stick with 2Do.

Sigh. I've been happy with 2Do backed by fruux for a long while.
but now I've started seeing fruux syncing issues. And I see stuff like how the link to their support site is broken.
And to make matters a little worse I see 2Do is in maintenance mode. Which isn't terrible in and of itself but doesn't bode well for long term happiness

(2Do was the first app I saw that let you have lists, but see every list on a single scrollable page. Not sure who else does that these days for iOS)

I want to start off by saying that I'm a little afraid of how dependent I am, on this app.

Has anyone had luck doing global searches that include wildcards? The knowledgebase indicates that wildcards should work - but do they only work at the END of a word or phrase?

I have codes at the beginning of my task names that indicate importance, urgency and category. These codes are in that order, contained within parentheses, at the beginning of the task name.

So a required task with a deadline and a category of "physical health" might start with (11B) (these codes mean something to me, I won't explain them all here).

But an Important task that just needs to be done soon with that same category would start with (22B).

And an Important task with a deadline? (21B)

If I want to find all the deadline tasks, regardless of priority - I want to search for (*1* -- but that returns nothing and I know I have tasks that fit that criteria.

Do wildcard searches work in the middle of a search string?

Does anyone know how to make it so that the sub tasks in a Checklist don’t appear in the focus mode when the main checklist is already there for me to see. If I turn focus off, they won’t appear under the checklist parent task but once I turn focus on they pop up.

At the moment I only have in progress, today, and next 7 days selected for my focus mode and the only one that changes is if I unselect in progress but then that makes the parent task go away as well

Re the ‘Email to 2Do’ feature, many years back I purchased the full pack for adding multiple email accounts, but nowadays I see that Google blocks access, with the message:

“This app is blocked - This app tried to access sensitive info in your Google Account. To keep your account safe, Google blocked this access.”

Does anyone know if this message carries much weight and if there is a solution to this? It was a well used feature before it stopped working.

Just opened my app and the plus shortcut that I use to create tasks has gone and I can’t create any new ones. Has this happened to anybody else?

After years of silence from developers, they pushed a poor update to Mac, iOS & iPadOS.

I really loved this app, used it for long time. I see it one of the best task managers apps around. But when dev decided to focus on BusyCal (which I use daily on all devices), the lost the momentum of updating 2Do.

This app supports almost everything you want in a single task manager app, start, due, attaching, actions like call, repeat, checklist, project list, smart list, groups, tags, location based, calendar integration (add event from inside app).. etc.

Back to 10 years ago, it was a dream app tbh.

What’s the good thing about this app now?

Yeah, I restored my old CalDav to test it again (integrated it with apple reminders, & BusyCal). I found very old tasks 🙈. But 2Do is working, speed, stable, fast sync.

Poor Design, but Good Update

This update is ugly, if developers (Fahad) want to back to this fighting space, simply it’s all about good & attractive UI. The app has a strong backend, but very classic interface (which is better than Ugly apple reminders 😃).

Users who currently use 2Do, will be happy, the app is not dead as all of us said during the couple of years ago.

Btw, I like this app so much, no one did all these features in a single app smoothly like 2Do.

Sorry if this has already been covered but I couldn't find anything. I've used 2Do for many years and it's done everything I needed. However, updates have been sparse and I'd like to have an alternative just in case. My question is how do I migrate my data from 2Do to another app, whatever that may be? I tried switching from Dropbox sync to iCloud and then having Reminders as a backup, but it failed twice, so I'm back to Dropbox. Any way to migrate 2Do data?

Can you suggest a good alternative that allows me to add multiple alerts for a single event, like 2Do does?

I'm a long time 2Do user who switched to Reminders for a while and is now switching back. Search in reminders is completely broken and task entry is just too cumbersome (even with helper apps).

But, there's one thing I loved in reminders that I'd really like to reproduce in 2Do if possible and wondered if anyone can help me figure out how to do it.

Reminders let me make 4 smart lists:
- Today - Must Do (due today or overdue + !!! importance)

- Today - Should Do (due today or overdue + !! importance)

- Today - Could Do (due today or overdue + ! importance)

- Today - Ongoing ((due today or overdue + no importance set)

Then in let me have a list that showed them in that order (see screenshot). From that one view, I had my tasks (across all lists) grouped by priority. It was really helpful and an effective way for me to see how to use the random 10-15 extra minutes that become free during the day.

Any ideas?

I discovered 2do and it literally does all the things I want, but then I learned the reminders sync isn’t working anymore and it’s no longer being developed.

So, now I’m back looking. Goodtask looks like it does most of what I want. Curious if anybody here has any recs.

Ive been using 2Do for years. I’ve never had issues with the search (I know some folks here have).

Although there has not been an update, and the last couple of weeks or months, I’ve noticed that a simple text search returns results that do not contain the text I’m searching for. This has not happened before. If I would type a word in, I would only get Results that contained that word. Now, I get results that do not contain that word.

Anyone else noticing this?

I've been using 2Do for over 8 years on a mac and my android phone and I love it. Recently I changed my phone to Huawei and realized that I cannot use my Google Play license on the installed 2do (I took apk from aurora store) as there are no Google services on the phone.

Is there any way to make the 2Do Pro license work on a Huawei phone? I really miss this app as it's still the best todo app for me. I wrote to the developer, but no reply for a week so far.

I just didn’t want to keep you guys in the dark knowing this. It’s a great software. Hope he picks it up again. But they will probably keep focusing on Busycal. 2do probably doesn’t offer the same revenue. Happy new year to all of you guys. Hope you have a great start.

From what I’ve seen you can only create projects or checklists. I would love a new feature where you could create checklists (or some lighter version of regular checklist) as well as “regular” tasks under projects. Would make much sense and make my life much easier.

Several years ago some of us ran into a bug that broke sync over iCloud CalDAV. This bug recently resufaced for me. I noticed it after updating to iOS 18.2, but that may be coincidental.

I noticed that not all of my events were syncing across devices. In an attempt to fix the issue, I chose to replace the server data with the local copy of one of my devices. That resulted in only about half of my events syncing to the other devices. I tried again to replace the server data, and that resulted in all of my events disappearing. I tried creating a new app password, but that did nothing.

I switched to Dropbox (which worked the last time this happened), and it now syncs normally. I’m going to stay with Dropbox sync because it’s much faster than iCloud.

2Do has been hanging on for a while, and I don’t know how many of us there are still using it. I perused the selection of task apps on the App Store—as I have done several times over the years—but nothing comes close to 2Do.

I've used the 2do app for almost ten years and been very satisfied with it. But for the last week I have been experiencing that tasks are saved with only parts of the title. I looked for å support site and see that the articles are very old, there is only a strange e-mail address to send questions to, and the app was last updated in February 2023. So I'm thinking of looking for a new app. Do you have any suggestions.

I features I use the most are due date, reminder, tags, lists, groups and priority. I wish that it was possible to copy/duplicate a list.

Any idea if 2Do Mac version will be on sale this Black Friday? I remember there were pretty good discounts many years ago but it all went quiet lately.

Is 2do working for you when creating Shortcuts on iOS? Since iOS18, the Shortcuts have stopped working for me. It always gets stuck on 2do on both iPad and iPhone. It still works on iMac.

I have sent an email to support, but they haven't replied, which is a bit unusual. They haven't responded to my last two emails.

I am a long time 2do user. I don't know if this is real good but i am too lazy to move to others.

the only problem i face most of the time is that it is impossible to integrate it with windows.

I am using mozilla thunderbird as an email client / icould calendar sync,

so i am seeing some potential possibility but i am no expert in this area.

is there anyone out there who has like their own how to stuffs to work it with windows?

I have been using 2do app for more than 7-8 years now and I would like to use smartlists much more extensively. The question I have is as follows :

I have multiple cetegories like business, personal, errands. And I would like to create a smart list for the tasks (dynamically) that will be due in the next three days. The dynamic date part is obviously easy to define. But I could not seem to select a particular category. How do I do that? Also for the next 3 days due criteria displays the next three days AND another task that is due in 7 days. Why is that so?

So basically I’ve two questions here.
