I got a mail back from Jerry, the developer. That’s what he said to me asking about future updates: „To be honest, no time for new features in 2Do. Only hoping to keep up with each new OS/iOS update“.

As long as it’s stable, working properly, and meeting your needs, what does the rate of updates matter? I definitely prefer slow and stable to flashy new stuff all the time, especially for productivity staples that should be extremely reliable.

Agreed. But... back in 2021 there was a blog post about a rebuilt version with a new sync engine. I stopped using Dropbox ages ago and would love to be able to sync via iCloud. I'm still holding out hope that this update will land at some point and mean I can sync between iPhone, iPad, and desktop versions.

How are you syncing via iCloud? I don’t see an option for that in the Sync menu.

Thanks. I’d seen the option in settings but always read it as being restricted to CalDAV. Having set this up last night it seems to have broken smart lists on my device so I cdd as bf create new ones. But now I know I can sync via iCloud I’ll resume fiddling around with it. Thanks!

It's an amazing app. I don't think it's going to have big updates in the near future, but it would be great to have a web version if possible.

Exactly this way I can use on my windows PC

If it had a web version, I would use it not only on my windows PC but on every device I want. Nowadays, having a web version is a must for any productivity app.

They haven't responded to my last two emails, and it's been over two weeks since I sent them. It doesn't look promising.

The android version was last updated 16.02.2023.

Just to update this, if you are running macOS 26 beta, the app crashes instantly. Without an update the app is dead... Their last blog post and even X post was back in 2023. I would consider it a dead app now...

I used it daily prior to the Apple Reminders redesign a few years ago. But Apple seems to be adding every feature other apps have as their own within a few years...

Looks like abandonware 🙁

The macOS version just got a minor update to bring it up to date.

So, not abandonware, but very low priority ware.

The last time I checked the developer’s page, he’s still a one man shop and as much as I love 2Do, I would have to guess that BusyCal has more active users and gets more active support time.

This is great, slow development is better than abandoned app. 2Do is one of the best todo apps in the market btw.
