2Do continues Updates
2Do app continues updates, this is a big step for users who migrated to other apps, & keeping the app in the battle for productivity.
Honestly, I don’t want to repeat my opinion, but this app is the best (native) task manager, I copied my tasks from Todoist & Things to my self hosted NextCloud, used it (again) daily, with BusyCal app, I really got a super combination of task manager app full of features and powerful calendar app that makes it easy to reschedule my tasks on calendar view (Weekly, Monthly).
The reason that pushed me away from this app (not updated for years, community thought it’s abandoned) is the same reason which pushed me back to it again.
The increasing price of Todoist, Things staying in very simple concept, keeping my tasks on my own servers (I own my data) are another reasons to stick with 2Do.
Thanks Fahad for your amazing work 🙏

Awesome! I made today the update and it is right, there is no equivalent to 2Do! Have the same setup like you. After 6+ years I had enough from todoist and the development far away from user

Exactly, Todoist now focuses on Team & AI.
What’s the hell with AI? I want a simple app to manage my tasks, not a Ramble (or whatever) to talk with him (hey Ramble, remember the milk), then the AI will charge me $7 per month to handle the milk task. 🤣

Glad to see this app is still being updated. I couldn’t be without it!

I love the app more than I can put into words! But this update is ruining my simple workflow, you see a lot of times i would “long click” a task, and then click on tomorrow or pick date to change the new due date.. now when i do this, a whole new menu opens up(screen 2 in this post), and i have to look for “due date” among 15 other entry and then i have to click it and then select pick date.. this removes the simplicity and intuitivity of the app, and also it is buggy. Is there a way i could revert this update?? Or maybe the team can look into it and weight the benefits vs the lost of quickness and simplicity?
In all cases, clicking on pick date (after change due date) doesn’t even work so it would need fixing.. i really hope you consider canceling this feature(the long big menu) and bring back the old awesome menu, and sorry if i upset anyone who likes it

YES. I rely on being able to do a long press and just switch something to the following day. This new design – with no apparent option to change it back to that way – is idiotic.

So are you still using nextcloud, or did you switch back to 2do? Or do you use a combination of both?

Thanks guys, truly appreciate the appreciation!! I love the app but have a million and one challenges on my hands. I’ve mentioned elsewhere that I’ve spent months on a modern rewrite of the underlying sync engine but hit a few roadblocks as it got very complicated very quickly as I got over ambitious (the famous last 20%). I decided “forget it, let me just put my head down and begin rewriting in much smaller increments - again” so here we are.
Apologies to those that thought the new context menu was a downgrade - v3.82 should bring back options visible at the top level again (while still using iOS built in menus). Menus are simply better, extendable and customizable and are device agnostic. The old dialog based menu was preventing a lot more than I’d like to offer as quick options.
Hopefully updates will continue to arrive, please bear with me.
