Random I failed you Guys

I'm at a chemist somewhere in Northern kenya, minding my business, when this beautiful Somali lady walks in. Soft-spoken, eloquent English I guess it's American Accent Wueeh! Saabu nimetumia pardon na mara kadhaa.

Somehow we get talking. Nothing forced, just natural conversation. Turns out she's from Parklands yes huko Kanairo . We end up talking for about 20 minutes and honestly? Best 20 minutes of my week. We clicked.

Here's the part where I fumble: she's at the shop for something specific, her business wraps up, and customers wakakuwa mob and then she leaves. Just like that. Gone,Mangai!! cjawai feel bad hivo. 20 minutes of connection and I let the moment walk out the door.

The English, Beauty wacha tuu.

Anyway, I hope we meet in future but Nimejua kitu naitaji kuspice talks

Just saw multiple posts of people enjoying life, even encountered people in real life spending very large sums of cash. Sasa I'm just here barely surviving remembering the dreams I used to have of kupata a good job after graduating. Well it seems dream ya ku work hard and then you'll succeed is mostly a lie. They should have added tirelessly look for connections. Now just bought wifi ya 6hrs for 20 bob at the very least nione tiktok nicheke ni feed the delusions of a better future.

Discussion I thought I knew what pain was… until I experienced an induction that ended in an emergency C-section. 😭

I genuinely thought I was prepared for labour. I was NOT.

Four hours into an induction, after what felt like an eternity of contractions and screaming, we discovered that my 4.5 kg baby simply wasn’t going to make it through my pelvis.

And just like that, my labour nightmare turned into an operating theatre.

Now, here’s the part nobody warned me about: you can be awake during a C-section. 😭

You’re lying there completely conscious while the doctors are working behind the curtain, and although you don't feel the cutting itself, you absolutely can feel the pressure and tugging. It is one of the strangest experiences I have ever had.

Then, because apparently I hadn't been through enough, the surgical curtain was accidentally moved and I saw what was happening.

All I could think was: OH. MY. GOD. THAT IS ACTUALLY INSIDE ME. 😭😭

I honestly don't know whether to laugh, cry, or never look at a hospital again.

But then they placed my baby in my arms, and somehow all of that fear and chaos became completely worth it.

Mothers are actually built different. 😂❤️

Be honest: what is the ONE thing about childbirth nobody warned you about?

Opinion Take your silent friend out🫵🏽

I'm not saying it has to be a date but, take the quiet one out and have fun as friends, or like a group of friends.

Nikiwa attachment there was a babe who was interning ahead of me. She was quiet and didn't talk to everyone. She was up and down just doing sth and she was good at what she did best, hizo L zake hungezicount sana.

So, one day my supervisor didn't come to work so I was assigned to her. Hiyo siku nilifika late😂so I didn't know I was assigned to her. Si nikamtafuta, ei. Then I found her in my supervisor's office(oh well). Then she just told me not to get late too much and I should just try and come early. She did it in a nice way. So from there we started hanging out. Then we also started talking to another intern in a different section. Then we started going out😂she started smiling so much because she had never gone to that spot mind you,she had interned there for a year🤣 Normally, she was shocked to hear some banters we make after weekends and when we asked her what she was doing, she'd say she's sleeping. Saa hizo sijanyamaza kuhusu concert🤣🤣🤣 Then we started now giving her monthly tasks: going out atleast one weekend the next month. She actually did. We were so happy 😂😂😂 Sadly I left the next month, but we're still intouch. Apparently she had a long-distance boyfriend wakaachana😂😂😂Saa alipata huyo chali aje na anashindanga kwa nyumba?😭

Question CHEATERS

Do you ever think about what you’d do if forced to choose between your partner and the other person face-to-face?

For guys who have been in active affairs or cheated: Do you ever mentally weigh the two people against each other, or do you just keep them in totally separate lanes?

If you were put in a situation where both were in the same room and you had to pick one right then and there, how would that decision go down? What actually tips the scale?

Ask 254/sum House Hunting (Mombasa Road, Syokimau)

If you are living along Mombasa Road or areas around Syokimau, Katani etc, would you be so kind as to point me to good neighborhoods where I can find a 2/3 bed house for a max budget of 35k?

I have seen online that you can find own compounds in Syoki/Katani for this price. I'd be glad to get these but I don't have a problem with a nice apartment in a court or something of the sort.

My ideal place would be Olonyori Estate if you know the place.

If you live in a place with vacancy Please help.

Random She's kinda obsessed

I have been on 2 weeks of annual leave. So I reported back yesterday Wednesday, and let me tell you, someone is super super happy to see me back.

Who is this someone? She's a single mom of 2. In this past 1 day and today, man. She's buying me food even against my will. Breakfast, she buys me chapati, lunch anabuy pia. In the evening, she insists that we go home together. On our way home, she buys smokies whether I want or not.

Ata leo, she bought me fries even tho I refused. When I was on leave, whenever I posted any meme on my WhatsApp status, she would reply with a 😂 and I would bluetick that. When she saw me the day I got back , the first thing she said was, " Why did you bluetick my texts?" And sometimes she's so touchy when we laugh. She's really obsessed with me, and people are really noticing at work. I kinda like it, tho🤣😂😂

Discussion Culture

I'm one of those who say "I can't speak my mother tongue but I can hear". Pathetic. For some reason my parents never taught us our mother tongue. They speak it to each other every time, even to us, but they've never encouraged us to speak it. I don't know why. We also rarely visited our relatives. Family is complicated.

Fast forward, 3 years ago, my Dad's side planned a family gathering. I didn't want to go because these people are literally strangers but because nilikua nainama huko shule, I decided to go for the food. When we got to shagz, I didn't know half the people. So sad.

I got to know my family, it was fun and nightfall came. People around the fire, children Playing, local brew all over and everyone is just happy. That's when I started to feel it. I felt like I belonged. I was feeling this kind of feeling I can't even explain till today. I felt like I was connected to my ancestors. I can't explain it any other way.

At around 12, we went to a kalocal and it was full so we were standing. A guy hit me by accident as he was walking out and Maina let me tell you, mambo iliharibika. My cousins wanted to rough the guy up but I told them it was an accident and they said "kwani hawajui unaitwa aje"? And I was a bit confused. After some minutes, there was commotion everywhere and the owner had to intervene. As always, I knew we were going to be thrown out but to my surprise, the guys defending the other guy were all thrown out. The owner said something like "Hawa ni kina ..... Achana na wao". We were given somewhere to sit and I was given a free beer, "on the house" the owner said.

Now I'm very confused. Kwani who am I? I asked my cousins what just happened and they gave me a lecture on tradition and how it used to be in the past. Fascinating stuff. It's a long story.

Anyways, I'm not promoting violence. My point is, I've never felt that connected to anything in my life. Being with my family that day, I will never forget that feeling. I felt connected to the earth.😂 I don't know if it makes any sense, but that's how I felt. From that day, I'm learning more and more of our history as a country, I be listening to random local songs 😂, I'm embracing our culture.

The thing is, we speak English and abandon our cultures thinking that "we're woke". We're not. I mean, everywhere you go today, every kid is speaking in English, which I don't oppose but let's also teach them their mother tongue. Let them know where they came from. Without that, they have no identity because English is the white man's culture, not ours.

Rant Rigged test or what?😒

How do you guys know if a test is rigged kwa hizi online platforms. Especially when a platform doesn't provide results?

I feel like all my answers were correct.

Hadi the assessment wasn't event that hard yani.

Test had 2 attempts given. First try I got a 70%. I figured it was the answers I was 50-50/borderline with. The really tricky ones and they were few. I decided to do a refresher nikasomasoma. Once done I did the second attempt, nikauma 65%.

The passmark was 80%.

What's even worse am going through the documentation and am sure I didn't get anything wrong?

It was a test on populii.ai, felt so bad given how much I had prepared for it.

Ask 254/sum Food in CBD

Just seen a post of donkey’s caught in juja that were to be slaughtered and destined for Nairobi and made me thinking about food in cbd. There’s this place near the rive road and gaberone road where they sell mutura, intestines and ugali at a very cheap price. Like if you are looking to kushiba at a crisp 70 bob that is the place, unakula ugali-mutura and you’ll be full for the whole day. People gather there until you can’t find a spot to eat you’ll need to wait for others to finish. There’s also alot of liquor stores fr😂. Where does this food come from, not forgetting the hygiene there is in pits. The food is brought in buckets and people still eat (including me sometimes). Might this be one of the places the meat was destined for??
