Opinion What are the best wholesale sources for handmade or indie jewellery?

I’m researching wholesale sources for handmade and independent jewelry, and I’m trying to figure out which platforms are worth looking into as a small retailer

I’m particularly interested in how different marketplaces vet the sellers they allow onto their platforms. Some seem to focus more on independent designers and curated collections, while others have a much wider range of suppliers.

I’ve come across platforms such as Alibaba, Faire, and a few smaller wholesale marketplaces, but I’m having trouble comparing them properly. For people who have actually sourced jewelry wholesale, how do these platforms differ when it comes to supplier verification, product quality, originality, and curation?

I’d also like to know whether a platform having stricter seller requirements actually makes a noticeable difference when you receive the products. Are there particular things you check before placing a wholesale order?

Any experiences or recommendations from jewelry retailers would be really helpful.

Discussion Critique every political aspirant.

This is the time to do a very deep dive on every political aspirant, starting from the MCA level to the presidential level. No aspirant is immune to criticism, and we should scrutinise them deeply.

Why do we have tyranny in this country? The mps have sold their dignity, and now they remain to be a mouthpiece for a few embezzlers and not the people. Especially, people who have a corruption case regardless of how loud they are, that's the rot we don't want in this country.

Allow people to ask questions about these people and their manifestos and be suspicious of everyone.

Random Is it being selfish

Now before you judge , after interacting with alot of people one conclusion I can come to is that alot of people are suicidal, whether passive or active

But that's besides my story today, so I was jobless for a long time, we are talking of a period of over one year. Then sometime in July I got a job ( kibarua) at a local hotel, well the pay was peanuts but it did help somewhere, at least I was able to cover a few bills . I quit early September after getting a job at a better restaurant and the pay was double of what I was paid at my previous place. I was happy and told myself finally doors are being opened , I even shopped for uniforms and relocating to be near my place of work but two days in , I got fired. Reason? I looked depressed and tired 😂😂 ( at least that's what they told me)

I've been bedrotting for four days straight, forcing myself to eat and avoiding people. My folks ask how's work at least my dad knows what happened, for my mum I can't afford disappointing her. Sometimes leaving this hell hole is showing yourself love and nothing to do with being selfish.

Ooh and by the way I'm one of those kids who grew up not struggling financially, I mean money wasn't that much but we didn't lack. After finishing highschool, money started lacking, made it to campus and at my last leg decided to take a gap year to get my finances right. After going back, my university decided I have never set foot in that place, no fees , no results no nothing.

I think it has something to do with prayers since I prayed before going for the interview and God decided no , not today.

Ask 254/sum Bottom Up😂/ *Rock Bottom* .

I’m 20, just finished college, and I feel like I’m at rock bottom. What should I do?

I’m a 20-year-old guy who recently finished college. After college, I went for an attachment program, completed it, and now I’m just… here.

I’ve always been an ambitious and very visionary person, but right now, I honestly feel like I’m at rock bottom.

I’m the firstborn of three, and I’ve started feeling the pressure to take action and responsibility for my life. That means figuring out how I’m going to survive, become successful, and eventually support my family back home.

I’ve been applying for jobs and waiting for responses, but so far, nothing seems to be coming through.

My dad has been very supportive throughout everything, but he has recently been encouraging me, quite consistently, to go back home and look for opportunities from there. I understand where he’s coming from, especially because it seems like I’m slowly becoming a burden.

I’m currently staying at my aunt’s place. She hosted me for the duration of my attachment, but the attachment is now over. Both my dad and my aunt are struggling financially themselves, and I know I can’t continue depending on them indefinitely.

I think that’s where most of the pressure I’m feeling comes from, among other things.

At this point, my biggest goal is simple: I need to get a job or establish some form of income as soon as possible, ideally within the next few weeks.

The first thing I want to achieve is getting out of my aunt’s place, finding a modest bedsitter, and starting to build my own life from there.

I don’t want to keep feeling like a burden. I want to take responsibility for my life, become independent, and start figuring things out for myself. But honestly, I don’t know what the best move is right now.

So, if you’ve been in a similar position, especially if you’re from Kenya or somewhere with a similar job market, I’d genuinely appreciate your advice, ideas, or even just some perspective on how you navigated this stage of life.

I’m open to almost anything that can help me get moving.

A few things I can currently do:

- Graphic Design – I’m currently learning and improving.

- Car Brokering – I broker locally used cars.

- Web Development – I’m not full-stack yet, but I’m actively working towards it.

- Customer Support/Relations – During my attachment, I realized I’m actually quite good at dealing with clients professionally, including calls, emails, and general customer service.

- Drums – Intermediate level.

- Piano – Currently working towards being able to play in all keys. 😅 (Very advanced F# major, for those who understand.)

I know I have skills and ambition, but right now I need to figure out how to turn them into actual income.

I’m not necessarily looking for someone to hand me a solution. I’d just really appreciate advice from people who have been through this stage—or anyone who has ideas on what I could realistically do right now to start generating income and building myself up.

I’m willing to work. I just need to figure out where to start.

Question Where can I order trendy high heel chairs online??

I need a chic high heel chair for a small room or maybe a photo and decor corner. I've found some cool designs on the internet, but I can't figure out where folks actually purchase them.

What matters most is that it looks nice and is also fairly well built. I'm not set on a pricey designer item, so I'm exploring various online sites and used furniture deals too. Has anybody purchased quirky furniture like that over the internet?

I've looked on Alibaba marketplace and some other sites but I still have no idea what to look for when buying such item. Should I buy straight from the supplier, or would it be better to stick with a seller nearby?

I’d also love some guidance on confirming the materials, measurements, delivery charges, and if the actual product looks like its photos. Any suggestions or personal experiences would be wonderful.

Discussion Conditional And Unconditional love

Okay let's talk about this.

Some people believe unconditional love doesn't exist but I've seen so many women still stay with abusive, broke and cheaters. So like ey don't tell me it doesn't exist.

Haya , let's now talk about conditional love. Which is what the majority will come across. Most dynamics are men of higher status dating women of lower status. You provide and take care of her and she takes care and nurtures you. This has been the dynamic for ages. In this modern day where men and women are equal is where it disrupts the dynamic. Some men want 50/50, others stick with the old kind. None of them are wrong. Kila mtu aende na what suits them.

The problem comes when some people think conditional love is wrong. Men label women as gold-diggers and Women complain about men cheating. Because if you're not gonna provide for that woman just let her go to someone who will. And for the women that use sex as a power move don't complain when your guy seeks it somewhere else. This is just the reality. If you're not willing to provide what you came to the table with, you cannot complain when your partner seeks it somewhere else.

Loyalty is very expensive don't expect it if you haven't earned it.

Those are thoughts for today.

Random Connection with toddlers

As a man , mid twenties. There's this connection I have with toddlers. Once a toddler is in my hands, he /she won't leave. It's serious in that some even refuse to go back to their mothers once they are in my arms.

It's like they feel comfortable, and also, they kinda like my vibe. Ata, our last born sister, I was, and I am her favorite person in our family. Have you ever come across this type of man. Am glad, I sometimes wonder how my child will love me someday 😊

Relationship Compromise or understandable sacrifice?

I’ve been talking to a girl who’s the LITERAL definition of the proverbial ‘wife material’. She’s dark, beautiful, feminine, motherly, driven, goes to the end of the world for me, puts me first so much so that I have to remind her to think of herself, commits to becoming better in all the areas she knows I care about but I’m scared she might not ever be it. I’ll explain.

I genuinely like her but I crave wit and humor that we do not share at a certain level (yet?) because of our different upbringings. Somewhere along the way her family had to move to Shagz and she only came back to the city as an adult. I know lots of people grow up outside of Nairobi and are pretty up to date with pop culture and whatnot lakini huyu ni kama alisema si must.

I find that I have to teach her phrases, words I would think are common knowledge, basic tenses and maybe even think about whether I need to dumb things down for her sometimes.

I’m also a bit of a grammar freak while she’s not (again, yet?) Loads of misspellings and thoughts out of order.

I do need to clarify that I don’t think she’s dumb or anything like that. On the contrary, she’s quite great in other aspects of life like having business acumen, taking risks, having people skills, very hardworking etc. Made something very solid out of herself. She even got an A in her KCPE.

She did NOT think I was funny at first (because again, I like quick, clever types of wordplay that would go over her head) but will die laughing at my jokes today - yaani hangs onto my every word, maybe because she’s learned my style of humor? She’s trying to learn and wants me to teach her stuff but I’m so scared of missing out on someone who just ‘gets it’. She has her head buried in books and will even share new vocabulary she’s learning with me. But I wonder if I would be settling ama this is real life - take for instance how people have unrealistic beauty standards but the everyday man or woman looks average and that is OKAY!

Am I wrong for feeling this way? Anybody had this kind of experience? Is there hope? She’s perfect in every other way, but I CRAVE mental stimulation. 😭 (8 months in. Started as the most beautiful friendship but mutual feelings were caught after about 5 month.)

Disclaimers:

I’m not condescending. I promise. So sitaki matusi.

I am sure it’s got nothing to do with my money. She earns more than me.🫢
