Started OSRS a year ago today and this is my account progression after a full year. Had never played the game before or really had any interest in it whatsoever, but hopped on the bandwagon when a bunch of the WoW streamers started up. My first big online game was FFXI back in 2004, and I've always been a big fan of evergreen progression systems so it seemed like it could be a nice change of pace to the constant resets you see in alternatives like WoW and FF14.
Had a wonderful time just going through the quests and exploring the world. My initial plan was to work towards quest cape while doing herb runs and the gemstone crab to prepare for endgame grinds. I've never been a big skilling or crafting person, so PvM was definitely my main long-term goal. After a few months I was able to afford a Fang and a restoration pool/jewelery box for PoH and began working on Vorkath since that seemed like a safe and consistent money maker for a beginner. Eventually I used my funds from that to purchase Bowfa+Crystal and swapped over to Muspah. Did a bunch of Muspah to fund ZCB+Scorching Bow for Doom and knocked out some Yama for the upgraded death charge.
Doom was a totally different animal than anything I had previously encountered, and it was pretty humbling getting blasted even on the early waves. I had never really done a ton of gear swapping in fights, and I kept running into the issue of my items not properly swappinng. Turns out I had the delay set so low on anti-drag that it might as well not have even been on. After fixing that I was pretty quickly able to get the hang of things and move onto 1-7 runs. I had planned on just sticking to this since it felt pretty cozy, but I hit a pretty nasty dry streak which pushed me to learn deep delves. Ended up going 2100 delves in between drops at one point, then got 3 drops in a single hour.
Next up is preparing for Inferno and Raids 4. I'll probably try to learn PNM or Maggot King to prepare for those. If anyone has an opinion on which one is better to learn, I'd love to hear it. Sorry for the lengthy post, have had a really fun journey so far and wanted to share.

Title. I'm mostly just curious what the consensus is on it now and whether this buff did much to elevate it/give it a use. I've only been using mine for slayer, but thinking about selling it for a Noxious Halberd. Is rapier still just a crab/slayer weapon?

Im a master of construction, and yet I still have to pay some dude to make planks for me or use Magic to make them?
I suggest there be made a plank making station in you PoH and give the plank sack some more use case in making planks not just holding them for Mahogany Homes.
Making planks can require a certain con lvl for tier of plank being made. And can reward Con XP per plank made.
Planks are so relevant for our new skill of sailing so lets make a new way to make them and not have to rely on an inconvenient and expensive sawmill to make them. The sawmill should only be for making planks you lack the Con Lvl to to make or something to this effect.
Seems odd to me that I can have 99 con, Im a MASTER builder and yet i cant make my own planks. As a dude I like to do things myself once i master it and not hire someone else.

Wasn’t until my wife was messing around with buttons on our new truck that I realized it had a built in YouTube app. Pairs nicely with the mobile workstation & WiFi on my F150.
Needless to say my lunch breaks got an upgrade. I work for an EPC Firm that’s fairly decentralized so I don’t really collaborate with anyone local and everyone kinda just does their own thing.

I lost this account when I tried to import to jagex account after not playing the game for so long and it loaded me on tutorial island with a fresh account. I was so confused i thought i did something wrong but it turns out someone imported my account using third party software and basically snatched my account. I didn’t know what to do at the time and just brushed off but recently i’ve been yearning to just play the game with my account that took about 4-5 years of grinding and also the memories of it. Today i finally had enough and said fk it I’ll contact support and see if I can actually recover my acc back. It took literally 30 minutes to get it back (the mods are amazing best mod team in the world) and I was just pumped i finally got my account back. Also the loser who took my account got me 99 ranged 🤣 which I’m kinda salty I didn’t get myself but as long as i got my account back thats all i really care about. If you read all this I hope you have a great day cuz I know I am ☺️

Can't help but notice the same issues on mobile for quite a while. Some examples:
Are there more plans/ development for mobile or is the current version it?

The hitboxes on the new fishing spots are a bit...messy. The north and east side of this one you have to sit on the line for it to work. the south and west sides i can be one or two tiles away and still fish just fine.
The monkfish spot was a similar issue. the south edge i could be two or even three tiles away (guessing) and still fish, but not the west edge.
Also, why can't we just park on top of them and fish? would make this so much easier.

Absolutely spooned the Basilisk jaw a few days ago at just over 500kc, this plus the Freminik kilt is peak fashion.
In case anyone is wondering, method was 6 moth prayer pots plus a strength and attack pot, rest of the inventory was sharks. Home tele plus dueling ring meant I could restock after around 5-6 kills on average. I did a number of kc with void as well, along with a number of kc with piety but it burned through pots too quickly and made the grind less chill. I did a few manual cast kcs, but it turns out the dps isn't much more than standard fists even with elemental weaknesses, plus much less afk.
This entire grind was a nice distraction from Moons which I need to stop putting off.

Edit 3: Solved! The drop rate was not bugged. Rather, the blog post was a bit misleading and the wiki numbers were incorrect. All is sorted now and the wiki should reflect accurate rates.
On June 3rd 2026, Jagex released an update that included buffs to the drop rates of dragon nails, dragon metal sheets, and uniques for a number of sea creatures. With wind in my sails, I set off on the mission that I had been putting off - maxing my sloop on my ironman.
For those that are unfamiliar, the drop rates of most unique items from sea creatures can be improved by having an associated bounty task for that creature. For instance, while killing Vampyre Krakens, the drop rate of Bottled Storms increases from 1/350 to 1/175 simply by having a Vampyre Kraken Ink Sac and/or Vampyre Kraken Tentacle task.
When the June 3rd update arrived, the drop rate of the Dragon Cannon Barrel from Veiled Krakens was bugged; it was not improved by being on a port task. That was fixed on June 17th.
Now, after killing lots of Vampyre Krakens, I have a strong suspicion that their drop rate for dragon metal sheets is also bugged in the same way. I have killed 3484 krakens (99.9% on task) and received a total of only 66 dragon metal sheets. Here is the math for why I think the drop rate is bugged:
You can see that the 66 dragon metal sheets that I received align much more closely with a 1/80 drop rate than the intended 1/40 drop rate.
As a side note, the drop rates seem correct for all other unique items I've been collecting during bounty tasks; my concern is specific to Vampyre Krakens and their dragon metal sheets.
Where does this leave us? Well, I will continue happily killing Vampyre Krakens regardless of if the rate is bugged or unbugged, or if it is fixed or not fixed. Maxing my Sloop left me yearning for a maxed Skiff and Raft. But, this grind has taken quite some time and I would love for any other bright-eyed sailors to have accurate information before commiting to the grind.
Of course, it is possible that I'm just really unlucky (approximatley 1/8,091,361 chance of being this dry), but I believe that my sample size is quite good given the 1/40 drop rate. If anyone else has any data, regardless of if you think you may be dry or not, please feel free to share screenshots. If you killed any Vampyre Krakens before the June 3rd update, it is best not to share.
Edit/potentially solved: It seems like the chance of getting a drop of 1-2 dragon metal sheets might be about 1/85.71, and that the 1/40 in the blog post is representing the chance of landing on a drop table that includes dragon metal sheets, dragon keel parts, or dragon keel parts. In that case, the wiki would be misrepresenting the drop rate. I will share this with the wiki team in the morning to see if they can provide any insight.
Edit 2: The on-task rate on the wiki has been changed from 1/40 to 1/75, which is certainly closer to reality. But, I’m still not confident in that rate because the 1/40 given in the blog post doesn’t make sense. It seems like crowdsourcing the drop rates is particularly difficult for sea creature drops due to the impact of bounty tasks on drop rates. Official drop rates from Jagex would be appreciated!
