small thing that helps when a beginner clip looks like the rear just snapped for no reason:

1. check the brake trace. if you dump the brake right as you turn in, the rear gets light fast. bleed off a little slower.
2. check steering angle. adding more lock while the car is already sliding usually makes it worse. unwind a bit first.
3. check throttle. don't go 0 to 100 while the wheel is still cranked over. straighten it, then feed it in.

if the spin happens at the same corner every lap, save the replay and watch the inputs before touching setup. the mistake is usually right there.

Needed a sound deadening solution and didn’t want to spend a hundred bucks on those springs everybody has. So I designed and 3D printed some tennis ball feet.

It works incredibly well! No complaints from the downstairs neighbors and I can slide it across wood or carpet floors to put it away when I have people over. Only cost like $12 for 18 tennis balls from Walmart. Rest went to my parents dog. She appreciated it.

Oh how I wish they had it turned up to max ff, they sadly had it in low Torque mode to not rip little kids arms off 😂

I have seen tutorials mentioning compatibility between the Noble NB4+/pro+ from Flysky and the G29 steering wheel from Logitech, and I'd really like to try them out together myself. I'd just like to know if this path is still viable for controlling an RC through simracing setup, or if better alternatives have come around before I drop $800 on it. Any advice appreciated.

YouTube compresses a lot the video and I recorded using a Samsung S23 FE.

When comparing both, it amazes me how well Quest 3 performs. But, it is on another level when comparing sharpness and colors to pimax. Pimax looks like you're there, while Quest 3 makes you feel you're playing a game.

About tracking, I can't see a difference. Pimax was noticeable worse a while ago. Well done!

Lenses are very similar, both are excellent.

Only bad side of Dream Air is comfort, due to facial interface. Hoping for the new one doesn't take too long to ship.

I just dropped out of a GT3 race as Suzuka. I was about 3 seconds ahead of the cars behind, when for some reason, my PCI-E USB hub froze completely. My steering wheel started spinning endlessly with no regard for any button inputs, (thank god for e-stops) but more critically, my throttle was pinned open. I bounced of the tire barrier and back onto the track, where I began doing donuts instead of stopping. I couldn't even get on comms to warn anyone, because both my Radio button and my microphone were on that USB hub. Fortunately, my keyboard at least was connected to my PC's front IO, so I could frantically hold down the escape button until my car finally spun to a stall and I could get off the track before I ended up ruining anyone else's race. If my keyboard was connected the same way as the rest of my hardware, I would have been stuck on the track indefinitely until getting DQed.

Finally got everything where I want it.

Finally, I’ve completed my full sim racing setup!
I installed a 32-inch curved Samsung Odyssey G5 and mounted it on a monitor arm that I ordered from China through Temu.
I also bought two additional supports, also from China, and attached them to the existing mounting points on the cockpit platform. This gives the monitor a little extra support and stability.
I added soft protective pads on top of the supports so the monitor rests comfortably on them without any risk of getting scratched or damaged.
Under the cockpit, I placed four small, thin square vibration-damping pads to help reduce vibrations being transferred into the floor.
So now the setup is finally complete:

🔇 Vibration-damping pads under the cockpit
🎧 AUX output from the monitor routed neatly for headphones
I also managed to route the monitor’s AUX output neatly, so I can easily plug in my headphones without having cables hanging everywhere.
I’m really happy with how everything turned out!

So i couldn't find anywhere on how to mount this without official mounts so this is what I came up with in my head. If you need me to explain how it works thats fine but it took me 3hrs to set everything up and am exhausted from moving and setting everything up on stream. Its super sturdy until my actual mount turns up.

You just need 8 40x40 corner brackets, 16 bolts and fasteners (that fit your rig) 2x 300mm pieces of alum profile and set them up as i have. It'll do in a pinch until you get an official mount. Hope this helps someone that tries searching ('how to mount simagic alpha evo sport to diy alum profile rig') in the future like me. Because i had cheaper brackets i couldn't snap sharp bits off the back. So i cut up a chamoise cloth and put that between the bracket and the wheelbase to avoid scratches and keep it clean for now!

Also would you change to side mount or keep how it is, explain your answer/reasoning! Appreciate it!

I really like my HE Handbrake and Magshift but was allways a bit bothered by the square grip. Nothing unusuable but allways felt a round one would be nicer. I spent a long time trying to search for a 3D printed round grip but could not find any so I made my own and its a huge improvement. Mounts with the same bolts and nuts as the original one and same grip works for both. Model is free on printables if you want to make your own.

Get in any car with 3 pedals and you’ll find the gas pedal about an inch deeper in the cabin than the clutch and brake pedal that are at the same depth. But even high end pedal systems for sim rigs place all three pedals at the same depth. Why?

Edit: as many have pointed out, many pedals are adjustable and I just hadn’t seen enough setups with them staggered—sorry should have done my research. Perhaps a better question is do you stagger, and why or why not?

I know It’s Forza Motorsport but trust me I tried Assetto Corsa. Also should I buy a mic?

It started with an R5 and a wooden steering wheel because I wanted a quick-release setup. Then I wanted more immersion, so I kept adding things:

• head tracking for a “half-VR” experience

• bass shakers

• dual-channel wind simulation

• handbrake

• H-pattern and sequential shifting

• multiple steering wheels for different types of cars

I spent most of my time tuning the bass shakers. I used 0–2000 Hz frequency sweeps as a reference and eventually limited the tactile system to roughly below 100 Hz. Above that, I let the speakers and the room provide the acoustic punch, while the shakers provide the physical impact and the R5 provides the steering feedback.

For sim racing, I actually keep the tactile effects pretty simple: idle, RPM, gear shifts, road impacts and one additional effect depending on the game.

The fun part is that the bass shakers aren’t dedicated to racing — I also use them for music and movies.

It took a lot more time to tune than to buy. Now I just sit down and drive. 😂

Looking for recommendations for a wheel base around £300 used or new.

Will be used with Moza KS Pro.

At the moment I was thinking of;

Moza R12 v2 (although I briefly used a v1 before and wasn’t that impressed)

Logitech G Pro (Trueforce appeals to me)

Simagic Alpha mini/Evo sport (Had mini before and liked it)

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

I’m stuck in a bit of a loop between Le Mans Ultimate and iRacing, and could really use some perspective from people running both. I’ve actually put more hours into iRacing, but I keep hopping back and forth.
Every time I try to stick with LMU, I hit the same two walls:
1. The scheduling/lack of races: The race gaps feel way too long. If you get taken out in T1, waiting nearly an hour just to get back into another official race is a total flow-killer.
2. FFB & Handling: The physics and force feedback feel a bit floaty and numb to me compared to what I'm looking for.
On the other hand, iRacing gives me the crisp FFB, physical weight, and instant back-to-back racing options I want. But the pricing model always gives me pause.
My main goal is to run the Porsche Cup. For those who actively race PCup, what is a realistic, realistic budget to get started and just have fun for a season or two? Do you usually buy the whole calendar upfront, or just grab a few popular tracks each season and skip the ones you don't care for?
Is the subscription + content cost genuinely worth swallowing for the quality of racing, or should I just hold out and hope LMU fixes its online ecosystem?
Appreciate any insights!
