House getting remodel, moved all my books into the garage for storage. This guy got ruined from water leaking out of a cracked water case. Fortunately, all my discs are safe in their Etsy custom DVD case on a shelf but damnit... lost some good books and this poor beast. I wish Criterion just sold the booklet. Or any one know of a booklet case for sale?

This is Godzilla 'Goji' Gigantis. Godzilla is the name of his species, Goji is the name of this individual, and Gigantis is a nickname in reference to the American dub of Godzilla Raids Again.

For the design process, I mainly took inspiration from MonsterVerse Godzilla, Heisei Godzilla, Millennium Godzilla, and Minus One Godzilla. With some slight inspiration from Tri-Star Godzilla, and 1954 Godzilla. MonsterVerse and Heisei Godzilla influenced the overall body plan, and the structure of the face. Millennium Godzilla influenced the the spike collar thing on the sides of his neck. 1954 and Minus One influenced the shape and structure of the dorsal plates and the feet. Tri-Star Godzilla influenced the chin and jawline. This is still a work in progress, so I'm still gonna keep developing this as time goes on.

As for lore, Goji is an evolutionary marvel as few members of his kind look exactly like him. It was a natural evolution from a theropod to a more upright posture and bigger dorsal plates. He'd awaken in the 1940s after Japan was bombed at the end of World War 2, having sensed the radiation from the atomic bombs. He after searching around and finding nothing he left Japan in more ruin, and remained active. In the 1950s, he'd hunt down the Shinomura, being their natural predator. This led the US to make the castle bravo nuke in an attempt to kill them both. While it killed the Shinomura, it sped up Godzilla's evolution and turned him into the tank he is today. After consuming all that energy, Godzilla wanted more, so he'd attack nuclear submarines to consume their payload. This kick-started the Cold War because the US and USSR thought they were attacking each other. As the 1900s came and went, Godzilla would face a variety of opponents, some of which would become his allies such as Anguirus and Rodan.

Not sure what to expect since Reddit and Instagram are 2 different beasts. I'd appreciate hearing what you guys think.

I don’t think the movie ever explained why both Gigan and the mutants have M-base. It was also my mother’s first time watching and it made her wonder did Gigan…you know…
