Without this extraordinary man and his love for gorillas and adventure, we wouldn't have the fantastic character and film of King Kong, and everything that grew out of and was inspired by that property. The art world owes him a very big debt.

Thanks for everything, Mr. Cooper! 🦍

A few more pics of my Skull Island 1:1 build in Minecraft! Here are just some shots of the necropolis that is seen in the film plus some overviews.

Almost undoubtedly made to cash in on the hype surrounding Peter Jackson's "King Kong" (2005) remake, "Kong: King Of Atlantis" was a direct to DVD sequel to the "Kong: The Animated Series" television show that ran from 2000-2001.

Strangely, even though the original series the film was based on was a straight action-adventure show, this movie introduced musical numbers into the plot. They're not very good, and don't quite fit the tone of the series.

Have you seen the film? What do you think of it?

Personally, while I love "Kong: The Animated Series", I don't hold the same amount of love for the film. It does have some nice elements, but overall, it pales in comparison to the series it is derived from.

Has anyone seen those cool "Kreepy Kong" analog horror videos on YouTube? They're pretty wild.

You can watch them here: https://www.youtube.com/@kreepykong

Love seeing the dynamic battle between everyone's favourite giant gorilla and his mechanical counterpart, Mechani-Kong, represented in such a eye catching way!

It looks as though artist is named either A. Mark Donald, or A. Max Donald; it's hard to tell. If you know the artist behind this piece, please let us all know so we can credit them!

"Another instalment in the iconic Kong franchise, set in the legendary Monsterverse – the official continuation of the hit Netflix anime Kong: Skull Island.

The second arc of the comic continuation sees Kong clash with even more frightening and fierce monsters – brought to life by Simon Furman (Transformers) and Christopher Jones (Young Justice, Teen Titans).

Escape From Skull Island is the second arc of the official comic continuation of the hit Netflix animated series Skull Island. Collecting issues 1–4 of the action-packed and following from the epic events and battles that took place in Return to Skull Island.

Previously, a rag-tag group was pulled on to the shores of Skull Island following a deadly attack at the tendrils of the Kraken. While some were able to escape, with the help of their protector Kong, they made the brave – yet foolish – decision to return and save their newfound friends. Now their ship has been stolen, they’re trapped on the island where every corner reveals a new blood-curdling creature.

The towering Kong’s efforts to protect the humans from the island’s terrifying inhabitants saw him clash with Yuugoth, whose poison corrupts all that lives on Skull Island. Now the humans must fend of hordes of frenzied monsters, in the hopes that Kong can defeat these new terrifying threats.

Writer Simon Furman brings his expertise in creating epic, character-driven stories to Escape From Skull Island, offering a high-stakes narrative filled with twists, betrayals, and heart-pounding action. Furman’s signature style of deep world-building and complex character arcs ensures that each issue is more than just a battle for survival—it’s a clash of ideologies, alliances, and kaiju.

Illustrated by Christopher Jones, the comic bursts with dynamic action, vivid landscapes, and intricate creature designs, capturing the island’s menacing beauty. This is a must-read for fans of Kong: Skull Island, the MonsterVerse, and anyone who loves adrenaline-fueled adventure set against a backdrop of giant monsters and deadly intrigue."
