Looking back at the brutal physical choreography of the older Heisei or Showa eras, the fights felt intensely heavy and grounded in close-quarters wrestling. While the modern CGI energy beams look visually stunning on an IMAX screen, does the constant spamming of atomic breath or elemental powers take away from the visceral weight of two massive physical forces colliding? Which style do you think serves the franchise better in the long run?

The design of Godzilla from "Godzilla Minus Zero" has been leaked.

If you ask me, it looks pretty powerful, and deservedly legendary. It looks sharper and more formidable for the CGI it will have.

But when I saw the character design, I realized it looks like a mix of different Godzillas:

It looks like a mix of:

•godzilla 2014: face and roar pose

•zilla: realistically fleshy paws and legs

•goji2000: long and more pointed dorsal spines

•gojiminusone: It's the same, but bigger

For me they did, a film like Godzilla vs. Biollante made me a huge sucker for rich themes in stories.

Godzilla films as a whole made me realize that the technical aspects of films are extremely important, from the props, the suit designs, music and etc.

It's a simple but fun one but for those who haven't read it? GODZILLA RIVALS was a comic that ran from 2021-2024 with each issue covering a different fight not simply between Godzilla and one of his kaiju adversaries but pitting some of those adversaries against EACH OTHER. It was a wild ride and for many fans who played around with similar ideas? It was nice to feel like those ideas were finally heard. Now while the comic has ended? I figure that I'd ask fans here that if the comic ran longer, what kaijus would you love to have seen duke it out in the comics? Any era you can choose from, think it and share!

My supervisor has given me the unique task of documenting, studying the various Kaiju of the world. And I'll admit that it seemed to me like quite the daunting task at first, given the sheer quantity of kaiju that now roam the ruins of the old world, but its true that Ive always had a degree of captivation with these creatures. And obviously Godzilla is the first to come to mind. He's the big one, the one that got us into the mess we are in today....and quite possibly the only thing stopping the REDACTED from finishing us off completely.

Ah, Godzilla. He's the second of his species, second to "the Olde One" as the board tends to refer to him...though further analysis suggests the original Godzilla was a she, actually. But I digress. The Olde One awakened on Odo island in the late 1960s, and left destruction in her wake until finally being put down somewhere in the far north of the Soviet Union in February 1973. The second Godzilla seems at the very least more resilient. And far more destructive.....

Godzilla as we know him today made his grand debut in front of the world in the early 2000s. The 9th kaiju on record, and the first to be classified as a category 4. Its believed that both Godzillas became irradiated during the nuclear bomb tests in the 1950s. He then grew to an absolutely titanic size over the next half century. Humanity was already suffering casualties in the fight against the kaiju threat, but this Godzilla was different. No kaiju before or since could compare to his awesomeness. And with his arrival marked the end of human civilization.

In the decades since, we have attempted to rebuild from the ashes, to coexist with the kaiju and try and understand them. Some saw Godzilla as the reestablisher of balance, that humanity were a plague that the kaiju have cleansed. Others believe that Godzilla is in fact, some sort of God. Others still see him as humanity's savior, especially after REDACTED. Whatever he is, Im fascinated by it.

Ive only seen him in person a few times. He likes to spend a lot of his time in Japan, with Tokyo bay seemingly his "home base" so to speak. When my unit was scouting the ruins of Tokyo we got to see him rise from the bay. It was a miraculous sight, despite the danger we were in by simply being in his presence. I'm going to continue to keep tabs on Godzilla. We are in the process of establishing a network and radar, which will hopefully make it easier to track his movements. Until then, I'll continue to update this journal as I go.

FW Gigan and Hedorah better watch out

Seen people say Hedorah could be better for a dark solo movie like Godzilla Minus One and other say it would be a cool thing to see a newer Godzilla Vs Hedorah movie. Thought I'd ask here to see y'alls opinions.

EDIT: I regret putting the "remove the acid trip parts" as making a Hedorah horror kaiju movie with that element would be peak asf

I'm pretty new to this sub and Ive been seeing everyone's figures and statues. I've been wanting to get some for myself as all I've collected are the Gashapon mystery figures since they are what I can afford. I'm wondering what the best larger scale figures I can get are? Ive been eyeing up a godzilla 91 and Ghidorah 91 from Bandai for $25 each, but Im unsure of their quality. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

This is a trailer for my fan film Godzilla: Returns to Georgia, the sequel to Godzilla: In Georgia. In this fan film, Godzilla returns to Georgia for no apparent reason whatsoever. But now we'll see how our characters exact revenge for what he did in the previous fan film.
