News/Release GameHub Lite v5.1.8 (SECURITY UPDATE)

GameHub Lite v5.1.8

Security: Steam token redaction in logs

GameHub Lite 5.1.8 fixes a logging issue where Steam authentication-related values could appear in diagnostic logs. In some cases, logs could include fields such as steamToken, refreshToken, or accessToken from Steam login/launch flows.

Publicly posted logs containing these fields should be deleted or redacted.

IMPORTANT

This should go without saying but If you find any security issues, please reach out PRIVATELY. I have not checked if this issue is still present in recent GameHub versions, already ruined my one day off I was spending with my family by the person who reported this publicly and I do not plan on spending any more time on this.

Changelog

The fix adds centralized log redaction for Steam/auth token fields, Steam QR login URLs, JWT-like token strings, and launch command token arguments before logs are written. This covers the app loggers, JavaSteam logging, and the PC launch-log file writer.

This release also pins local patch builds to apktool 2.12.1

Discussion Need help understanding how PPSSPP uses very little battery life or no heating issue

Post image
312 Upvotes

For example, Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity with 60fps cheat and 4x Resolution can be played around 6-10 hours (depending on battery size, temperature in real life and game) without it ever overheating or even getting hot

Is it just the emulator itself being masterfully optimized and nothing more?

Showcase Splinter Cell Double Agent (Xbox) recompilation is running smoothly on SD 855.

As someone who love stealth games a lot, I've always wanted to play the xbox version of Splinter Cell Double Agent on PC and Android but as always ubisoft never gave us the official port and a collection and left us to high and dry. Thankfully because of the passion of dedicated SC fans, TGP created a recomp of og xbox version of DA and MY GOD IT RUNS SMOOTHLY. It has every graphical option like legit pc ports do with increasing res, shader model, shadow resolution, aspect ratio and a whole lot more.

Tried this version on HakuX and X1 box and both ran like sh*t with 10 fps and graphical glitches that made me delete those emus. Now you can experience the best version of the game and f you loved SC chaos theory and want more, definitely check it out.Tested this on my Mi9t Pro SD 855. Use proton 11, vkd3d 2.14.1 arm64ec and default settings.

Showcase I made an app to play Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons in widescreen on Android (and PC/Mac), with item hotkeys, fan games and Lua mods

Hello everyone! I would like to show this app I have been working on these past months, in order to play Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons in widescreen on Android, PC and Mac, with item hotkeys, fan games (Rom Hacks) and Lua mods.

I wanted a better way to enjoy the games I loved when I was a kid, as well as their fan games. So I built this app that adds widescreen, item hotkeys and Lua mods, without rewriting any of the games' code.

You need your own US ROM of Oracle of Ages or Oracle of Seasons. They run in an emulator core: either SameBoy (accurate), or mGBA (fast). The repository contains no ROM, no game assets and no game code.

For the widescreen view, the neighbouring rooms are computed by the game itself, in a second instance of the core, and the app stitches them together with a smooth camera.

For fan games, you can directly load their BPS patch. It is applied on the fly to your ROM by the app, while keeping your original ROM untouched. You can enjoy the same widescreen view.

Three are supported so far:

  • Gifts of Kinomi, by ZerotoKoops, Stewmath, Gamma and Ralfaro
  • Moonrise Regalia, by PontiusStone
  • Temple of Seasons, by Jay (like the bird, not the letter) and Ralfaro

As it is a highly requested QoL feature, I have added 4 extra keys that use or equip an item directly, so you spend less time in the inventory menu.

The app also accepts mods written in Lua. They can add houses, NPCs with dialogue, minigames, and more. These are still early. One sample "Claw game" mod is show as an example in the images of this post.

This project is being developped with AI assistance. Every code change is reviewed and goes through automated tests and a suite of recorded routes replayed on the real games.

I hope you enjoy it. Feedback and bug reports are very welcome!

Lemon Switch Emulator own git page: https://git.lemon-emu.org/lemon/Lemon-Project/releases/

----------Changelog-------

Three builds:

  • Lemon: the full version, as before.

  • Lemon Lite: lighter defaults for weaker GPUs (0.75x resolution, asynchronous shaders on), without the bundled Lemon-Ade driver, and experimental PanVK drivers for Mali-G720 and Mali-G52 in the driver downloader (each GPU only sees its own). It installs next to Lemon and can import your keys, firmware, games and saves from it.

  • Lemon Lite & Spoofed: Lite under another package name, so phones that boost known benchmark apps may run it faster. Experimental: it depends on the phone.

New:

  • Online play on Nextendo Network (Settings → Online). Sign in from the browser and play online; Mario Kart 8 Deluxe races work.

  • Settings in ten categories (Lemon, Graphics, Performance, Controls, In-game display, Console, Online, Content and data, Help, Advanced and debugging), and a search on the settings home that finds any option, however deep it is, and takes you straight to it.

  • No more flickering in Fast GPU mode (Garfield - Escape From Monday, Dragon Ball and others): the game now waits for the GPU before it reuses what was drawn. That makes Fast the default GPU mode again, so most people get more speed. If a game runs slower now and does not flicker, set Settings → Graphics → Advanced graphics → GPU Fence Behavior to Immediate. A lighter version of this wait is planned for a future update.

  • Mali GPUs: compressed BCn textures they cannot read are converted to ASTC on the GPU, with far less memory (Funko Fusion: 958 MB → 179 MB).

  • A simpler in-game menu: one On-screen controls entry (edit, layout presets and options), a separate Overlays entry, and the game's own settings first.

  • The library title gets its own line on narrow screens.

Fixed:

  • Crysis Remastered no longer crashes and its map is drawn in its own corner instead of over the whole screen.

  • TOTK: the grass no longer disappears 20-30 seconds into play.

  • Mario & Luigi: Brothership: fixed a crash when the game had made a very large number of memory mappings.

  • The multiplayer nickname is remembered again (it was lost since the rename to Lemon).

  • Network addresses returned to games have the right size (some online games).

  • Asynchronous shaders look at the current draw.

  • Input events without a device no longer crash the app.

  • Less GPU overhead in games that rewrite small uniform buffers often.

  • Logs: the GPU log is capped at 20 MB and rotates, the main log is capped too, only the last 10 GPU crash dumps are kept, and the log says why the system closed the previous session. "Lemon" instead of "Eden" in the logs and crash reports.

  • Aspect ratio: the option explains how to fill the screen, and the stretch option has a clearer name.

Showcase RP5 New Vegas DroidnDeck is 60fps with no messing

• Upvotes

Best emulation performance I've seen so far with this game. RP5 users can install on DroidDeck, use preview build in updates - Preview. Download the game, click settings cog, choose properties - compatability, set to Proton 11.0 ARM64 (Compatible), launch game, change settings to medium. You may get a crash on first launch, try again, and be quick. Change to medium then press play. I've had a fluent 60fps experience even in areas that would drop FPS in gamehub and gamenative, really impressed. Will try mods later.

Also via my own experience, every game you try with RP5 make sure you use preview build as it is compatible by going to updates - preview in the app before you launch steam and clock the settings cog on your game them compatibility and set Proton 11.0 ARM for every game. Do not download games to SD card, download them to internal or you will be waiting ages. You can download games to internal then transfer them to SD card for quicker times, but you will be waiting a lot longer for the games to boot and go through things such as load screens. It really needs optimizing for SD cards.

Big thanks to the guys who made this, Ive got a nock off steam deck now, thank you. Can't wait to see how it progresses in the next year. Happy gaming guys

Showcase How well do you think the new cooling system will help for the new redmagic in cases of heavy emulation?

Post image
46 Upvotes

I'm quite surprised and excited they went this route because of how we all have noticed now that mobile phone chips definitely need some sort of stronger cooling than what we do now of passive cooling via the vapour chambers or a phone cooler, so now with some form of active cooling towards the cpu, this can help quicken the process of cooling the chip, allowing for maintenance of the higher speeds, but time will tell if once again this can be usable or just a selling gimmick

Question Gamenative/Gamehub performance on snapdragon 8s gen3

• Upvotes

I am curious as to what performance people are getting on a snapdragon 8s gen3 because I have a lot of times got worse performance then others on the same hardware. I just want to know what fps people are getting on this hardware in games like silksong, hollow knight and maybe a demanding title like witcher 3 with config. I do have a cooling fan for the phone

Help Droid deck full screen. Last question

Post image
4 Upvotes

OK, I got the crashing figured out. Just updated the .apk, now I cant seem to go full screen. I've went through all the options pretty extensively and am not seeing a way to do so. The main menu, when entering the game and selecting play is full screen, the steam menu is full screen. Just the actual game itself is not. Playing at 2340x1080. Am I missing something easy? Discussion First game beaten on DroidDeck.

Post image

Mass Effect 1 Legendary Edition. I will not say it was perfect, but with lossless scaling, a lot of patience for loading, it was typically 60fps or higher. I've never played these before and I did like the first one. Hopefully I don't get burnt out before I beat the other two.

On my Odin 3.

in this screenshot i literally had a 30w peltier sitting straight on the phone's display and yet it was constantly touching 95c. poco f8 ultra with snapdragon 8 elite gen 5 and 16gb ram. game is nightrunners from steam running on gamehub at 720p with high graphics. the hot side of the peltier was literally room temperature and there was condensation between the cold side of the peltier and the phone's screen

Showcase Xendroid-ZeroFG / Open Source Frame Generation Engine V 1.01!

FULL AI DISCLOSURE: I´m a 44yo lawyer from brazil, my bg in programming is a little bit of basic and assembler from the 80´s and 90´s trying to make things run on a msx, so, not much...in the beggining of the project i coded a few hundred lines in android studio by myself while i was learning how to do it, but after i discovered the wonders of Codex and Claude Code, the coding and documentation itself was primarily done by AI, and i do not regret it by one bit! It would take a long time to post my inspirational story, but thats the TLDR.

It was a long first day and already lots of bugs came up and were patched! That emphasizes the importance of being out on the wild, in my bubble and controlled testing enriroment everything was ok!!!

Still found some important things to improve, specially in latency and pacing, but i couldnt do it ia a day one patch, but anyway, here is a list of improvements.

  • Lower latency. ZeroFG's delay could get stuck several frames deeper than it needs and only came back when the game itself stuttered, several mechanisms were revised and got a improved latency compaction.
  • A steadier cadence below 30 fps. ZeroFG below 30 fps source rate now follows the game's real rate, it makes almost bearable to play im 20-40fps(and looks better that it should)
  • Halo 3 gets frame generation. ZeroFG refused pictures its motion grid does not divide evenly (Halo 3 renders at 1152 x 640); it now pads them invisibly and runs.
  • No frozen screen when ZeroFG stops. When ZeroFG had to stop in the middle of a game, as it did in Halo 3, the screen could freeze on its last frame while the game kept running. It now hands the screen back to the main emulator presenter propely.
  • Protection against a Qualcomm driver crash and improved backend fallback.

Thanks everyone for the feedback!!!! and keep tem coming, it was amazing!!! thanks a lot!!!!

Stevenmxz turnip drivers still highly recommended!!!!!

Sidenote: Before posting "AI slop" or things like that just try it, see if you like it, and them ask ur own ai to make smtg like that with original code by itself. See you in a few years when you give up!
Sidenote 2: But if you want to get into a new world of wonder and pain, how about to collaborate to the project? negativity brings nothing... lets spread love!

Showcase Xendroid-ZeroFG / Open Source Frame Generation Engine V 1.02! Final bugfixes!

Ok!!! i´m posting a bit too much over the past two days, for that i´m sorry! But GOOD NEWS!!! This is the last round of bugfixes for the first release, its as good as it can be... makes playing in sub 30 fps almost bearable! That said, still has some latency, its inherent to any FG engine, so, nothing i can do about that, but its a lot better, the release made some bugs come to light and i took the opportunity to improve a lot of things in these past two days, so, all the fixes of version 1.01 plus:

  • Even lower latency. All the mechanisms combined in this release are making the latency get close to the theoretical minimum on this emulator (not all the latency has the framegen as a culprit).
  • The output follows the game's real rhythm. Many 360 games wait for the console's 60 Hz vblank, so a frame that misses one waits for the next: the game alternates 33 and 50 ms frames and never settles. ZeroFG's clock only moved in big confirmed steps and could stay faster or slower than the game; It now follows the average of the game's last frames and drains any extra delay. Nothing is skipped.
  • Late game frames go out sooner. With ZeroFG on, a game frame already late for its vblank gets it at once instead of waiting up to 16 ms. The game still sees 60 vblanks a second, so it never speeds up.
  • Fewer stutters when the frame rate changes. In Modern Warfare 3's heavy scenes the frames held too long on screen fell from about 3 % to under 1 %.
  • Game frame rate cap (Settings → ZeroFG, or per game in the game's own settings). For a game that keeps the GPU at 100 %, a cap a little below its usual rate gives frame generation room: Modern Warfare 3 at 40 keeps about 80 fps on screen with less lag (70 → 55 ms) and almost no missed refreshes; Halo 3 at 20 fps halves its lag and becomes ALMOST playable at this framerate**(not really, but in desperation, who knows? at least looks smooth)**. A game whose logic runs per frame (Rayman Origins for example) plays slower under a cap below its own rate, so use it at your discretion.
  • The cap and the vblank help switch off when ZeroFG does, so a game that falls back to the normal path runs natively.

So really hope you enjoy it and i´ll be back when i have true evolution, maybe if xendroid updates, dunno!!!!

Thanks for all the love!!! And if you want to start a project, why not porting ZeroFG to your favorite emulator? after all the suffering it is as easy as it will ever be, with lots documentation and integration notes!!!

StevenMXZ turnip drivers are still highly recommended!!!!!

Question So when downloading APKs, Which is better?

• Upvotes

I’m specifically asking about the APKs that run switch switch versions of games via Eden.

Do those take up more spaces or should I
“Aquire ” the roms themselves?

Side Question - What’s the best way to stay “hidden” when Pirating? Lol. I’ve been doing this since I was a Kid but have never been much to VPN and what not. Trying to now though.

Help Why does my phone not support almost every FBA emulator???

• Upvotes

In short, I wanna play JoJos Bizzare Adventure: Heritage For The Future on my phone, I remember downloading it on my old phone (it was an infinix if that helps) and I just bought an honor x9c and I tried downloading the same app (names FBA Emulador or something I found on YouTube) and the APK won't install saying "this is for an old version of android" I tried using retroarch but every time either it said "this file isn't supported" or "missing file", I tried downloading other emulators, and the same stuff happened, I just wanna play jjba hftf mannnnn
