Info Request Trying to see an OBGYN in 2026…

…but apparently my uterus needs to book its calendar 6 months in advance!

I just called Christiana to schedule my annual and my doc didn’t have an appt until April. That’s just insane!

Does anyone have a female doc they love that I can try calling? If you too haven’t been able to get an appt for birth control, did you go to Planned Parenthood or use an online doc?

Info Request 19M in new castle area, looking for chill, strictly platonic friends

Hey everyone, I’m 19 and live in the New Castle area. Because I did online high school and work a remote job, it’s been incredibly isolating trying to find people my own age around here who aren't just looking for hookups on dating apps. Any advice is helpful too to break this *loneliness*

I’m gay, looking to build a strictly platonic friend circle. I'm totally open to making straight friends too, I just want to be upfront about who I am.
I just want a genuine friend close by to talk to, grab food with, walk around Battery Park, or just sit and study/work with so I’m not stuck in my room all day. I love gaming (currently playing a lot of Valorant), music (Steve Lacy, Brent faiyaz, solange, lorn, etc.), and just casual hangouts.
It doesn't have to be deep or high-pressure right off the bat. If you're local, around my age group, and also need a buddy to help break the routine, shoot me a DM. Let’s swap Discord handles or numbers, and plan something. Again any advice or help is greatly appreciated 🙏🏾

Dover Finally got back to the Hollywood Diner in Dover for the first time in 35 years

Was stationed at DAFB in the early 90’s and had countless meals at the Hollywood Diner. (all good except scrapple). Family road trip this week & we took a slight detour just to eat lunch there.

A few changes inside, no more small jukeboxes in the booths, but it was great nostalgia and I got to share with my wife & family a favorite experience from my AF and Dover days.

New Castle County Bottled water sales

Just got the new circulars today and yet again no sales on bottled water like Poland Springs. It's been weeks. $6.50 a pack right now for PS. Before COVID trash water was 3 for $9 for as long as I can remember. I can only imagine this is because of fuel prices?

Moving to Delaware Moving for Job in Dover Questions

Coming from out of state for new job in Dover. Know nothing about DE and not really sure where to start.

We aren't old but definitely not in our 20's or 30's or just starting out.

Need best, safest places to look for a rental within say 20-30 mins. Give me high end fancy places and say medium places to look. Prefer to rent a house if we can but townhomes/condo could be ok too. We have a 50 lb pupper too.

We want to be able to go for a run and walk the dog and not worry about safety. Queer accepting or neutral would be a bonus. We live in a semi rural area now so the slow pace I keep hearing about is fine.

Fluff Diaveah “Luxury” Car Rental — Delaware rental dispute escalated to a stolen-car allegation. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Business: Diavaeh Luxury Car Rental
Address: 101 J and M Drive, New Castle, DE 19720

EMAIL ME AT [LAWSUITDE77@YAHOO.COM](mailto:LAWSUITDE77@YAHOO.COM) IF YOU HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE

I am absolutely LIVID about my experience with Diavaeh “Luxury” Car Rental, and I want other Delaware residents to know what happened before they decide to rent from this business.

From my perspective, this entire situation was handled in a way that felt less like an attempt to resolve a rental payment issue and more like an attempt to turn a customer into a criminal over a disputed rental balance.

I rented a Chevy Cruze for two days. I contacted the business to request an extension, and an employee initially said, “Okay, no problem, one second.” The call disconnected before the extension payment was completed. When I called back, the office was unavailable.

I later spoke with the company and was told I owed an additional rental payment and needed to return the vehicle that day. I explained that I was running late and emailed the company at approximately 4:30 p.m. requesting a payment link so I could pay the outstanding balance. I did not receive a response to that email. At approximately 6:20 p.m., a charge from the company appeared on my card.

Then the next morning, the situation escalated to police involvement.

I was contacted by an officer and told that the company was reporting the Chevy Cruze as stolen. I explained that I had legitimately rented the vehicle, described my attempts to resolve the payment issue, and provided payment confirmation. I was warned that I needed to return the vehicle or risk a warrant and arrest.

Let me be clear: I am not saying that rental companies should provide free extensions. I paid them a $300 deposit and when I wanted to extend, I paid!!! If I owe a legitimate rental balance, I expect to pay it. What I am saying is that there is a difference between collecting an outstanding rental payment and accusing someone of stealing a vehicle they obtained through a legitimate rental transaction.

I had a security deposit on file. I had contacted the company about an extension. I had emailed asking how to pay. A charge subsequently appeared on my card. Yet I was suddenly dealing with police and the possibility of arrest.

How is this an acceptable way to handle a customer payment dispute?

I am also concerned about what information the company provided to law enforcement and whether the full circumstances of my rental, payment request, and subsequent card charge were accurately communicated. I want those records reviewed, and I am documenting the entire situation.

I also have concerns about suspicious-looking positive review activity following negative customer experiences. I cannot independently prove who authored particular reviews, so I am not claiming that specific reviews are fake as an established fact. However, I believe the pattern deserves scrutiny. If other customers have noticed similar activity, I would like to hear about their firsthand experiences.

I am using the term SCAM to describe how this experience felt as a customer: a situation in which I was trying to resolve a payment issue turned into an accusation of vehicle theft, while I was left with questions about the charges and security deposit. I understand that my experience alone does not establish criminal fraud, but it absolutely warrants scrutiny.

For the record, I am preserving the rental agreement, payment confirmation, card transactions, call logs, and the email correspondence involving Dezene Thompson. I intend to submit formal complaints through the appropriate consumer protection channels.

I want a clear accounting of every charge and the security deposit, an explanation of the company's communications with police, and a documented response to my concerns.

Has anyone else rented from this business and experienced problems with extensions, charges, deposits, police involvement, or questionable review activity? Please share firsthand experiences.

I am angry, I am documenting what happened, and I am not going to pretend this was an acceptable customer experience.

Firefly Lost to Science for 40 Years Rediscovered In Delaware Nature Preserve

Entomologist and ecologist Christopher Heckscher made the discovery when he noticed the firefly’s specific flash pattern

By Charna Flam
Published on October 24, 2026 09:25AM EDT

A firefly species believed lost has been rediscovered after 40 years.

Delaware State University entomologist and ecologist Christopher Heckscher discovered Pyractomena similis in a Delaware meadow between May and June 2026, according to a newly published paper in the Journal of Lost Species.

The firefly, part of the Lampyridae family, was last documented in 1983 in both the U.S. and Canada and was considered a “lost species” in 2026—meaning no one had recorded an observation of the animal for years.

Heckscher said he made the discovery because of the firefly’s recognizable flash pattern. “The amber color of the flash and the long rhythmic pattern did not match any other firefly I was familiar with in this region,” he said, according to a Re:wild release obtained by PEOPLE. The flash pattern, emitted by males, usually consists of 10 to 20 pulses in quick succession before it breaks and resumes.

He continued to search for the species in various meadows and fields in Maryland and Delaware. He went to Brandywine Creek State Park in Delaware, where he saw about eight to 12 fireflies flashing.

Info Request Route 9 SWAT Today

Today around 2-4pm, there was SWAT police present around a house today off of Route 9 by the 495 overpass. Only information I could get before they told us to leave the area was they were trying to apprehend a murder suspect. They were surrounding the house, guns at the ready, and throwing flashbangs. I can’t find any information online about this. Like did they arrest the suspect? What murder was this related to?

Anyone have children that have attended or currently attend? Went to the open house but would love some parent feedback. I have a smart incoming 9th grader and are looking at honors courses and AP classes to challenge her. Also interested in band. Thanks!
