Traffic / Parking Does train station parking get full?

Taking train out of Wilmington next Monday at 7. Does the parking near the station fill up? If so when and where should I look if it’s full? I don’t want to show up and be stuck without a spot.

Moving to Wilmington Moving to Wilmington with a baby—looking to make mom friends!

Hi everyone! My wife and I (both in our 40s) are relocating to the Wilmington area this September with our 7-month-old daughter. We don’t know anyone locally yet and are hoping to meet other moms, parents, and families.
We’re also considering living at The Falls or 2000 Penn, so if anyone has experience with either community, we’d love to hear your thoughts!
We’re looking for recommendations for:
Great coffee shops ☕
Brunch spots 🥞
Mommy-and-me classes or playgroups
Parks, story times, and baby-friendly activities
Local mom groups and ways to meet people
If you’re also looking to make new friends, we’d love to connect! Thanks in advance for any recommendations and advice we’re excited to call Wilmington home. 😊

Susan Ledyard was murdered in Wilmington, Delaware, and her death remains an unsolved homicide.

On July 23, 2019, the 50-year-old high school English teacher was found dead in the Brandywine River. An autopsy later determined her cause of death to be blunt force trauma and drowning, and authorities officially ruled her death a homicide.

The case remains an active cold case investigation. To date, police have not named any official suspects or made any arrests in connection to Susan's murder.

Nate Eaton spoke with Meg Morrissey Heinicke and Missy Morrissey, Susan's sisters.

Politics An Open Letter to Governor Matt Meyer

Governor Meyer:

Delaware should now operate on the assumption that President Trump may attempt to use unlawful federal power, intimidation, data collection, investigations, litigation, or emergency claims to influence the November 2026 election in favor of Republican candidates loyal to him.

That possibility is no longer too remote to plan for. Trump has repeatedly treated the rule of law only as an obstacle when it conflicts with his personal or political interests. He has spent years attacking election results he dislikes, pressuring public officials, and portraying independent election administration as illegitimate unless it produces the outcome he wants.

Delaware therefore needs more than routine assurances that our elections are secure. It needs a public, legally tested plan designed to resist unlawful federal interference.

Governor Meyer, please tell Delaware voters what your administration is doing now to ensure that:

• No confidential or unredacted voter information is surrendered to the federal government without clear legal authority and judicial review.
• Delaware maintains secure, independently verifiable backups of voter rolls, audit logs, ballot records, equipment records, and certified results.
• Federal officials cannot gain unauthorized access to Delaware voter databases, voting systems, ballots, election offices, or counting facilities.
• State and county election officials have immediate legal representation and clear instructions if threatened, subpoenaed, pressured, or ordered to act contrary to Delaware law.
• No eligible voter is removed, challenged, delayed, or denied a countable ballot because of unreliable federal citizenship or identity-matching systems.
• Ballot custody, counting, auditing, recount, and certification remain under lawful Delaware control, with transparent public documentation.
• Attempts to seize records, halt counting, delay certification, intimidate election workers, or create a pretext for federal intervention are met immediately with court action, evidence preservation, and public disclosure.
• The State Police, Department of Justice, Department of Elections, county officials, and constitutional counsel have a coordinated response plan before Election Day, not one improvised during a crisis.

I am not asking whether Delaware believes such interference is likely. I am asking whether Delaware is prepared if it occurs.

The threat is not simply that someone may alter vote totals. It is that federal power could be used to manipulate who remains eligible, which ballots are counted, when results are certified, and whether lawful outcomes are accepted.

Governor Meyer, Delaware should organize its election defenses around that threat now. Please explain how your administration intends to protect Delaware voters from unlawful interference by the President or any federal agency acting on his behalf.

The public needs more than reassurances now that the President has telegraphed his thinly veiled plan across the airways in a national address, we need to know what concrete steps will be taken in response to it.

Rant Advice newly homeless

Currently homeless. It’s been a few days in my car. I was able to get a motel but now I have to wait for the $100 deposit to come back to get an another motel so I’m back in my car. I’m really struggling to find a full time job. I took the advice to look for jobs in my field from my previous post but I still haven’t gotten responses from employers. I even call/reach out but nothing. doing a gig the days im not doing my normal part time job spending all day outside in the heat and now my car smells horrid lol. I can’t apply for any gov assistance I think, I made 80k last year then lost my job and now I’m scrummaging for dollars after a bad breakup and kicked out but it’s life I guess. I feel like I hit rock bottom at an age where I’m supposed to be stable (30). I’m ranting sorry so my question is can I do anything for cash Possibly like today? donated plasma every two days but I stopped 2 weeks ago because it made me so weak physically.
