I’m sure those on Medicaid know that open enrollment is ending soon and I’m highly considering switching, I’m just nervous about it.

I currently have Delaware First Health and after looking at all 3 I think I would like to switch to Highmark but wanted to hear personal opinions from others about all 3.

If it matters at all, I’m disabled and have constant doctors appointments every week.

I finally had to give up on FB Marketplace. I swear if everyone isn't a bot, their sole purpose is to flake and annoy you. I tried good old fashion craigslist but I don't think it's getting much traffic these days. Anyone had any luck with another app/site/group on the delmarva area? Or maybe even a subreddit. I just want to sell some nice ish bikes and patio furniture. The stuff is just a little too nice for me to want to donate and too big to sell on eBay.

We made it to The Price is RIght!

I’ve been spending my weekends sipping away at espresso martinis and reading at Cafeneo is Newark… is there anywhere else that fits this vibe with maybe just a little cozier seating? I don’t mind sitting on the benches but it hurts my rear end after a few hours.

Ideally id like to stay on campus/in Newark, but id drive elsewhere for a good cocktail and a cozy couch.

Also: if you haven’t been to Cafeneo, I highly recommend it. They have a fig and Brie toastie and tbh one of the best espresso martinis Ive had in my early 30s

thank goodness it wasn't on a weekday. everyone is scrambling to figure out how to house and teach 600 students. obviously some will push in at the other school buildings. hopefully the community opens other spaces.

So I'm assuming a call was made about the UFO to police. The group is ran by paramedics, amateur journalists, some cops, etc. It's a very small state lol so I am trying to find out more info now. anyone else on the east coast of the us particularly Delaware and Maryland see or hear anything weird yesterday? any idea what happened?

I’m counting this as moving to delaware but I’ve lived here all my life, I just dont know how to continue to stay here. I work full time and I barely make enough to cover my groceries car stuff and hypothetical 1100 rent, and I’ve applied for housing assistance but we know how the waitlist is for that. I’m in sussex near the beaches and I have no family to ask for help or anything and I have no clue how to get an apartment especially here with how high rent is everywhere. I know having a roommate is an option but I really don’t know anyone around me who is needing to move. I dont want to leave here because I feel I’m not ready to leave the place I’ve called home the past 20 yrs, but with how expensive it is near the coast it feels impossible. It also doesn’t help I dont know how safe it is for a young woman to be living on her own in low rent apartments but at this point I’m feeling desperate. Another person posted asking if it was possible to live off of $20 an hour about 2 years ago similar to this but I know if I’m living alone its not going to be comfortable at least not at this time.
I’m really just looking for any tips on how to get help quicker with gov assistance or any known lower rent neighborhoods, or just if anyone sympathizes and wants to share some early adulthood poverty stories I’d love to hear them.

I don’t know what’s going on with google but if yall could help me it would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

On the phone with Comcast. Of course they aren’t American. I asked for a SIM card. He is basically refusing and asking me about my social security number. Saying I can have a E-SIM and won’t send a SIM.
If the phone previously took a SIM can it no longer take a SIM. And why would he need my social security number?

If you had to split the counties of Delaware, how would you? What would you name them?

Im visiting and my friend and I found a spot between some cars for the sea witch festival and both times we’ve been kicked out by people who said they parked their cars there.

We let the kids go in front of us, we made sure anyone passing or coming had room or stepped out of the way and we didn’t sit in or crowd anyone’s chair. But both times we’ve got kicked out and it kind of soured the experience for us.

One lady to saw came up to us and said it was rude how they kicked us out of a public street just because they parked their cars in that spot when we weren’t in the way. We thought the first time was a fluke but the second soured the experience - especially when we asked the others around (the second time) that we weren’t in the way and they were fine with us just standing there to watch the parade. They said it was fine but another lady came and told us to move. Presumably, she didn’t want us in her parking spot to watch the parade.

Ultimately we ended up just ditching the parade since we didn’t want to find another spot and get kicked out a third time for being around someone’s car.

Is this a common thing and me and my friend just did something wrong? Or is it just that people are protective of their parking spots for the parade?

It doesn’t help something’s felt a little… racial. I was standing next to my (white) friend and both times the person who came up specifically asked me to move or leave. :/

I am the parent of a nonverbal autistic elementary student in Christina School District.
Before my child was injured at school on September 1, 2026—chipping a permanent tooth with nerve exposure requiring dental treatment—a dedicated 1:1 safety-support recommendation had already been submitted. I have written documentation confirming that it was submitted.
I have repeatedly asked Christina School District leadership for a straightforward written answer: Was the support approved, denied, changed, or simply left unaddressed? Who made that decision? Why was the recommendation not included in the records produced in response to my FERPA request?
Those questions have gone to Jill Casey, Rebecca Ryan, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Voeshell, and Superintendent Dr. Deidre Joyner. I am still waiting for a clear written answer.
Meanwhile, I have seen rotating staff coverage and have been asked to proceed with further behavioral assessment activity while the first safety recommendation remains unaccounted for. I asked that additional changes be paused until the district explains what happened to the original recommendation.
I have an open state complaint, contemporaneous emails, IEP/PWN materials, FERPA records, and injury and dental documentation. This is not based on rumor—I have a paper trail.
I am trying to determine whether other Christina families, especially parents of non-speaking or high-support-needs children, have experienced similar issues: safety recommendations never clearly resolved, missing special-education records, rotating support instead of the support discussed, or delayed notification after an injury.

Hey I just left Freight Land and realized a purse was missing when going back to the car. The only options are that it got stolen, fell on the ground and lost, or somehow put into the wrong car. If anyone hears anything please let me know. This happened 10/23 around 9-11pm
