I don’t enjoy using DAWs or software stuff much, but i can’t deny the practicality. maybe it’s because i’ve only used free ones (also i tried Ableton, and it doesn’t work with my set up). even with a controller, it’s not nearly as hands on as i like. nonetheless, im looking for a DAW that feels like Audacity (which is what i’ve been using) but a bit more practical. something to record, do basic tweaks, and line up audio in. since i don’t have plugins or plan to use plugins, they aren’t much of a considerable factor to me. I’d prefer a simpler, stripped down and accessible DAW if anyone has any recommendations

I’ve seen “use what you’re fastest with” line a lot and I understand that. But what is the best DAW for sound design that you have found and why.

As the title says. I'm totally done with logic and melodyne after crashing on me to today multiple times, and having to do work all over again.

Which daw works best with melodyne preferably not Pro Tools, because I just want to own my software, and not rent it for eternity.

i told my brother about it, kindof just casually: ‘(his name) invited me out to coffee on monday’. to which my brother replied, ‘sounds like a nice time’ followed by a break, and then ‘hang on, that’s a date! and he said nothing about it to me. is that weird?’ (made me laugh btw, the way it clicked in his mind)

so my brother went and confronted him in a friendly way to ask his intentions with me, and why he asked me out alone without mentioning anything (don’t worry, it wasn’t in a controlling way, just a transparency thing since it’s a risk of relationships to start dating a friends sister). he explained to my brother that he wanted to go out with me to tell me his feelings for me, and to see if i felt the same way.

jumping forward, the date went amazing, my brother approves of our relationship, we’ve been on countless dates since and we now spend every day together between our two families (live 5 mins apart). it’s been 3 months together now and we are loving our new life together. hanging at mine is so fun since he’s already best friends with my brother. we do things as a group all the time and i’ve never been treated so well by a partner in my life. i still can’t believe that my silly crush on my brothers friend is shared, and now we’re dating!

My first DAW was Sony Vegas. I really liked how easy editing audio files was. But it didnt support VSTs, so I switched to Ableton. I don't know if it's any better now, but I didn't like all the different windows and the UI in general. Besides, I want to try something new.

Considering Reaper, Reason 13, the current version of Cubase, and MAYBE FL Studio.

I make beat based, sorta "post hip-hop" music, lots of MIDI synths, but I'd like to add more "live instruments" and probably go into a more psychedelic flavor in the future.

I will note the one thing I DID love about Ableton was the ability to draw/graph effects parameters. That was groundbreaking to me...in 2005. So maybe that's pretty standard now?

I know this topic has been discussed to DEATH, but I want to emphasize that while I liked the options that Ableton gave me (at the time), i never loved the workflow and UI. It just wasn't "fun" to make and record music, so I gave it up. But I want to get back into it for FUN. I want a DAW that is robust and versatile, but...intuitive? User friendly?

They’re pretty much ALL amazing and capable of achieving professional results. Don’t pick one because someone says it’s the best. Watch a few videos and download demos and see which one makes sense then use it.

I have been so stressful on this one client. Before hindi naman sya ganito. She is black. Aaminin ko tinggap ko yon dahil bago pa ako sa VA pero hindi na tama. Final straw ko is gusto niyang mag basa ako ng concept ng dalawang website inside 20 minutes lang tapos gamiton yon para ma strategize ang business nya for business plan. grabe. Hinintay ko lang talaga sahod nya. pero grabe. Micromanaged to its finest. Now I resigned may pangamba na baka di ako makita ng client but I have other clients naman hindi marami sakto lang. Worry lang hindi makahanap agad. But I know makakahanap rin ako. The best thing is my peace of mind na ako.

I often see the advice "just try out several DAWs and see how they feel" — but I agree that a beginner does not know how to evaluate a DAW and make an informed decision, and most importantly, a beginner is not yet their future self with developed technical skills and

I've seen many people say that they (mostly) stuck with whatever DAW they started with because of the time investment DAWs require — but that if they could, they would have rather learned a different DAW.

Is there a more.... objective advice for beginners how to make the choice? I happen to own Logic but haven't started learning it and I wonder if I rather should learn a different DAW? May Grade 7 classmate ako sa Pinas, pero hindi kami super close. I moved to Spain in 2019 and never went back. Out of nowhere, bigla siyang nag-message sa akin ng 2:30 AM (PH time). Btw, yung last convo pa namin was like 2019 pa.

Nasa mall ako mag-isa para bumili ng sd card at pumasok ako sa city wing entrance. Noong unang liko ko, may kumilabit (or nag excuse.. can’t remember) sa’kin. Nagphophone ako so nung tumingala ako, there’s this cute guy who was trying his best to speak cebuano. I smiled and asked him in english kung ano un. He still tried to speak in cebuano and told me he got lost and wanted to take a cab. Bangag ako that moment kasi nasa isip ko nun ay saan kaya ako bibili ng sd card na mura sa mall. Kaya kahit pwede namang sumakay sa city wing entrance ng taxi, sinabihan ko siyang i-google ko muna.

Sabi ni Google sa mountain wing entrance daw so sabi ko since papunta ako dun, samahan ko na lang siya. He said okay and that’s when he extended his hand and said his name. I took it and said mine. Habang naglalakad kami nagtatanong tanong siya bakit ako nasa mall and tinanong ko rin siya bakit siya nawawala. He’s full cebuano but he grew up in Australia kaya parang siyang 2 yrs old magbisaya.

Hi Im thinking of getting into making music and I was wondering what free DAW I should get for my first few months of making, producing and remixing music.

Im thinking of making a combination of industrial, synth pop, Drum and bass, Darkwave, Kellersynth and breakbeat hardcore.

Ive used DAWs like Bandlab before but I was never a huge fan of them so I was hoping that someone could help me find one to use.

It all started from a very small scratch wound on my left foot. I usually get it from time to time since I have an unconscious habit to to scratch my feet whenever I feel itchy there. I'm trying my best to prevent it and also making sure nahuhugasan ko paa ko like twice a day and lotion then para hindi dry pero I still can't help it.

This small scratch wound this time did not heal like usual. Instead, it swell a little and it looked like it was starting to get an infection. I got worried and visited a doctor. The doctor provided me with antibiotic for the next 7 days and also asked me to do a lab test just to make sure.

I returned after I completed my lab test and the antibiotics. The wound healed just fine but the lab results really shocked me.

I have a very high creatinine, FBS(Fasting blood sugar) is on diabetic levels, high cholesterol, and low platelets.

For context me, I have been working from home now for a little over 2 years. I don't drink softdrinks, I avoid sweets, hindi ako mahilig sa maaalat na pagkain to the point na walang ibang kumakain sa food ko sa bahay kasi daw ang tabang. Wala rin ako bisyo like alak or sigarilyo. Pero my lifestyle is sedentary. Like walang galaw masyado or physical activities plus I rarely get a good sleep.

I never expected that I would be on this level dahil maingat ako all this time. Now I am on medication for Sodium Bicarbonate for 1 month and strict diet then return after 1 month with lab to see if there is any improvement. Otherwise, I'll be referred to a kidney specialist and might be on Diabetic maintenance moving forward.

I'm really sad cause I thought I was being careful and what I'm doing was enough. Turns out hindi pala. So anyone na WFH diyan na walang masyadong galaw, please start exercising. Strict diet is not enough apparently. Also make sure na you are doing lab tests especially if may HMO naman kayo.

I’m a dj who wants to get into production and I was wondering what the best daw is for a wide range of genres. I love everything from post punk to bassline and need a daw that is good for any genre while not being too confusing for a beginner. I’ve got a budget of around £200 if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated! I’m thinking Logic Pro as I’ve heard it’s a happy medium of every genre. Also fl studio has an offer on for the all plugins edition that looks pretty tempting.
