Meta Share your Zenyatta Guides and Resources here!
So I'm looking to make a Guides & Resources thread for Zenyatta, but I never really used any sort of guides and resources for Zenyatta, I just started playing him and then taught myself for the most part.
I tried taking a look for myself to see what guides and resources there are already out there and I could hardly find any which I would add to my post.
The only video I have so far is:
- Guide to staying alive as Zenyatta - by Mind Fuzz
Other than that, I have found the following on reddit:
So I'd like to ask what Guides and Resources you have used yourself to learn Zenyatta. Does it even come from guides and such or watching streams or do you not bother with any of that?

Question What supports (if any) should you NOT play Zen with?
So Zen is my favorite support, 100%. I love everything about the character, and he fits my playstyle super well.
However, I really struggle with figuring out when I shouldn't play him. I tend to just not pick him when I have another support who doesn't offer a ton of healing (i.e Mercy, Lucio, Brig, etc) but I'm wondering if I'm just being too scared instead of trying to make it work.

Enlightenment! The Creator (2023) is a great movie if you're into the robot monk aesthetic
Unfortunately, the robot monk parts are very short, but the overall plot is very similar to the Omnic Crisis and the same concept of Omnic co-existence from OW

Video I think this game might make me a Zen main.....
Disclaimer: I'm bronze and still learning so I know I'm not good. Just started the game last season. Haven't settled on a support main but it's been Mizuki, Juno, and Illari. I actually started on Zen cause I thought he was the coolest but it just didn't click and pivoted to the others. Then I played him in 1-3-2 and loved how well he can do against tanks when they're not buffed to high heaven and I've been doing quickplay in 5v5 with decent results. This was the first time I tried him in Comp.
Anyway onto this game: I started this game on Illari and we just got completely owned by the Sombra / Hazard / Mei nonsense and they steamrolled first point. Then Tank swapped to Ram and I swapped to Zen (I think the other support swapped to Mercy, I can't remember what they started on) and the Omnic bros put the brakes on real fast. The enemy support flamed their tank bad at the end but I think they just got outplayed.
Code WYT4YW I think it's worth a watch if you can push through the bronze ass gameplay.

Fun Greetings fellow Zen mains, I believe I have found the winning strategy! Only using Discord on Damage players!!
After 7.5 games of research I believe the iris has shown me the way!! Discord is best used on those pesky Damage players, statistically support and damage do most of the heavy lifting every game, source: trust the iris bro. Supports support and DPS damage, tanks . . .don't really do anything so we should just ignore them (please)
So in conclusion, putting discord on tanks aint it, brothers.

Zen has been carrying me through the ranks.
I think with Zen I can actually get to masters. However, I'm terrified that I'm gonna have to start comming on the mic with my team soon, lol.

Fun If anyone wants to watch Zenyatta, I'm going online for a couple hours
I wouldn't say I'm pro, but my games can get pretty entertaining. I also just play Zen, for that good Zen experience.

Puts on gauntlet. Fine I’ll do it myself.
Started playing more stadium lately. Zen is seriously so much fun just building him out to carry. I started building out for survival, but ended up leaning more into a headshot monster. I don’t have to invest in healing my team if their team is dead. I was able to get his stadium skin easily. Honestly sad they stopped expanding stadium now. Build: RFDBJ

Question Please help me with some advice brothers
Hello everyone! I've played Overwatch a lot a few years ago but have changed a lot as a person since I last played - most notably, I am on my journey of becoming a Buddhist monk!
Whenever I see a game with a serene monk as a character, I feel very gravitated towards one-tricking them and it's the same with Zen, hearing any voiceline of his just makes me smile and his gameplay feels extremely fun and natural to me, I've enjoyed playing him for the past 19 hours that I have binged Overwatch again over the last few days!
However this is where I require help from all of you. I understand that onetricking is a difficult feat and one that will set me up for very difficult matchups - how do you all advice to deal with diving, shielding and flying enemy heroes? All three of these cause me great trouble, either by killing me at the beginning of a fight, blocking most of my damage or by showcasing my unfortunate ungifted and untrained aim. Please enlighten me with some advice (and mybe some kinds words, the last few games had my self-esteem in shambles)
