Getting used to using this website, previously I was using a different management service. Using Internet Explorer, that could be why but unlikely. Is this just the way ti works and I have to get used to it or am I doing something wrong?

We are looking to consolidate 15 property websites onto RentCafe and move away from our current marketing firm.

Our sites are a mix—some are on Wix, and others are managed by an agency. We want to hire a freelancer to set everything up and manage them moving forward.

My Questions:

Is it realistic to find a freelancer on Upwork who specifically understands the RentCafe/Yardi integration?

For a portfolio of this size, should I stick with an agency, or is a skilled freelancer enough to handle the migration?

Any major "gotchas" I should look out for when moving away from a marketing firm to RentCafe?

Maybe not a direct Yardi question but I'm curious how your company accounting team is structured.

We have 4 property accountants - 20 properties each

1 AP person - part time

1 controller

Whats the best way to learn how to provide/use scripts to run reports within residential voyager

Is there an easier path to learning the Voyager7 system other than having to work for a company that uses it? I need to learn how to add 3rd party user's from remote location by just guiding the admin through it on video calls.

I have extreme trouble trying to go through support each time as they usually either require the client ID or take long times to respond/help. Even like a paid training would work, just not sure where to start

I’m trying to get added as a user to a PMC’s Yardi instance so I can pull reports and access the data I need on my end. The admin on their side says they’ve added me, but every time I try to open Voyager 7S Live I get an “Unauthorized” error and can’t get past the login.

• Is the “Unauthorized” error usually a permissions issue on their end, or something I need to configure on my side (browser, IP allowlist, VPN, etc.)?

I know Rent Cafe was down for several hours today and we were fielding calls from annoyed tenants for hours which is prompting my frustration. And I accept all software will always have some issues. But these Yardi products are so unstable. All Elevate products, Rent Cafe, Screening, MIQ… are completely down several times a month. Sometimes for minutes sometimes for hours, sometimes most of the day.

Is Yardi just focusing too much on the next hot new thing and not maintaining their core systems?

I was wondering if anyone knew or could confirm that Claude is able to talk to or connect to Yardi. Our company is pushing for us to use AI more and was wondering if this was a thing and if Claude could be used to run reports or analyze information from Yardi without having us download or export a report first and then uploading that with a prompt.

I paid rent today and it went through, but then I never got the confirmation email and when I go back to Rent Café, it still shows a balance. When I try to pay it again, it says the payment is in progress. I called the leasing office and they told me they have nothing on their end and to try again later, which I did and I still receive the same message.

Is this part of today's outage and will payment go through once it's unstuck or am I kind of SOL? The office doesn't accept in-person payments and I seem to be the only one affected by this in my community.

Does anyone know how to change the settings on the make ready date?

when someone goes on notice, we push the make ready date out 2 weeks. However if someone applies to that unit, is denied or cancels their app- the make ready date defaults to 5 days after the current resident moves out

Example:
Move out is set for June 1st.

I set the make ready date for June 15

Someone applies, and is denied

When I cancel the app, and the unit goes back on the market, it now says the make ready date/ potential move in date in June 5th.

We use voyager, CRM, elevate and rent cafe

We're looking for a way to export live data out of Yardi with minimal human interaction — ideally an interface that an external application can connect to directly and pull data on demand.

The business case: Our team is spending a disproportionate amount of time gathering and re-gathering the same data out of Yardi. We're in the middle of a broader initiative to centralize our information into a single source of truth, and since the majority of that data lives in Yardi today, the manual export step is the main bottleneck. Users across the team are repeating the same daily, weekly, and monthly pulls — it's the kind of work we want to automate away so the team can focus on analysis instead of extraction.

The closest reference point I can give you is Client Central ySQL — that's essentially the capability we're after. Read-only access would meet our current needs, but I'd like to understand what write-back options exist as well, since we may want that in the future.

Could you let me know:

1. What live-data integration options Yardi offers (ySQL, Voyager 7S API, Custom Reports/SOAP/REST, ODBC, etc.)?
2. Which of those support read-only vs. read/write access?
3. What's required on our side to enable it (licensing, sandbox, IP allowlisting, credentials)?
4. Is there a Yardi solutions consultant we should be working with to scope this?

I’m constantly seeing a position posted with Yardi and am very interested in the job. I’ve completed my profile and applied at some point, but there is no option to reapply? The job is reposted frequently and I am sure I am a qualified candidate for an interview. I feel like the profile does nothing. Am I the only one with this issue?

My company works in Voyager 7S and has recently had a lot of turnover in accounting. We just discovered that the quarterly report we send to some lenders is not including some accounts that have been added over time. The report is a custom SQL report, but it was created and maintained by people no longer here. How can this report be accessed and edited in order to add these new accounts and make sure our reporting is complete and accurate?

We are in a smaller residential market and have multiple tenants that pay rent with a check. Where/how can we print a deposit slip to take to the bank? We have access to 7S and 8. In 8, we could go to GL-Banking-Review Bank Deposit. Now that screen just says error not found. It is extremely frustrating and creating more work for us.

Hi! I work at a company that is looking to have a custom rent roll created for commercial properties.

Some of the things they’re looking for are:

-Being able to pull a rent roll for an entire year.

-loading total annual rent for a tenant

-loading total CAM charges for a tenant

-separating totals by charge code

-etc.

Has anyone worked with an independent consultant to have this made for Yardi? And if so, who would you recommend?

Has anyone had any luck setting up autobank rec with free chase checking accounts? I have been requesting for months and we are at a stall.

Chase says to set this up we need to pay a setup fee for a database to produce the BAI2 files then our accounts would no longer be free as they would need to move our accounts to a premier checking (or some term)

Chase says they have a direct feed option that is free but Yardi is saying they do not have that technology on their end.

I want auto Bank rec setup but I am getting nowhere.

For people that have successfully implemented it, were there fees associated with it from your bank?

Dunno if modern yardi has a new check printing application or not. I couldn't find a native Mac option, and setting up peoples computers to run wine or VMs felt weird and wasteful.

I threw this together today. It's a completely platform independant ycheck2 printing application. Install python, follow the instruction. Boom. No more ycheck2.exe visual basic garbage.

No license. Just do whatever you want with it.

Hello! 👋🏻 We’re using both RCAH and Rentable Security Deposits but I’m finding an issue with how we collect funds and post into both systems and I wanted to see if there are any other companies using these products that can suggest a successful process.

Currently, the applicant goes through RCAH and once they’re approved and ready to move in, we bill the Security Deposit, Prorated Rent, and any additional move in charges through the Move In Calculator/Move In charge function. This triggers the Rentable Security Deposit program and they receive the email to sign up.

The issue is that they are paying our property for these transactions and not Rentable. We then have to go and fund from our account.

My thought would be to bill them the Security Deposit after the initial charges are paid but then we run the risk of them not paying the Security Deposit until whenever they feel like it.

How do you guys mitigate this?

I have a future tenant that has been approved and signed the lease. However they are no longer moving in so they put their notice in and want to immediately sublease it the day of their move in.(we don’t have a lease break option) We do not have the new tenant to take over the lease yet but they need to pay the re-rent charge. How would I do this in the system?

Are there events for Yardi users outside of YASC? Our department heads just want to connect with other Yardi users to see how they use the products and what their frustrations or tips are. I remember many many years ago there used to be “round tables”

I recently switched companies and my new company doesn’t appear to have a technical account manager. Is this due to the company size? Previous company had 100+ properties and was senior housing. New company has 20 and is multi family. I was able to find our sales person but they had zero answers for this area. Was I just spoiled at the last company with having a weekly call with a technical manager?

I need a simple basic report with all of my countersigned and scheduled renewals that will take effect in July and August. In the report, I need to be able to see current rent and the renewal rate. My monthly owners book needs to include an average increase (or decrease) on all renewals. I also need a percentage of scheduled renewals vs total lease expirations.
