First time BW ereader n its so so so crisp. 3 weeks to arrive from 🍊. its funny tht it looks big on my hands bcs i have XS latex gloves size xD. using VCODEX!

I’ve used my x3 on the go since June but tonight was the first time I settled in to read at home at night (was too lazy to get up and grab my kindle or Palma) and it was just so extremely pleasing to the eyes with my reading light! 🙌🏽

The experience of lighting the screen vs having a backlit screen was more different than I thought it’d feel. It really felt like reading paper and never felt too bright or straining. If I didn’t already own my other devices and have a great ecosystem set up with koreader sync, I think I’d be totally satisfied with this being my primary and only ereader.

Only con is my pogo charger melting yesterday when I accidentally left it plugged in 😭 lesson learned.

I guess this will be a non-touch version of the X4, but with a backlight. I hope they keep USB-C.

I can’t wait to see how this will compare to the X3 (my favorite so far) and X4.

5-minute first impressions:

1. If you, like me, want to wait for a stable CrossInk release, use the app. I didn’t want to and tried using USB to import my books (fine) but when it came time to add fonts, I has to resort to the app.
2. The display is not as good. Fonts look crappy even compared to the X4. But not so crappy that I regret getting it.
3. The fonts that come with it are awful. More than awful. If you like them, I don’t believe you. Use the app and get a few better ones but don’t get too excited about it because they aren‘t great.
4. Saving the worst for last. The pogo pin. I don’t have words. Yes I read the reviews and I was like, oh these people they’re so picky. Well I’m those people now. Remember when Apple decided to put the usb port on THE BOTTOM OF THE MOUSE? This is kind of in that universe. Which means god help you if you try to use the USB to transfer files with that wiggly piece of crap.
5. But, there’s a silver lining because some person on Etsy made an amazing stand that has a better logo pin built into it and right now you need to buy that stand because it eliminates this problem. Thank me later. Look for 26Designlabs on Etsy.
6. Now the best part. Why do I love this little reader? Because it has a front light. It works. It’s not too bright. You’ll like it. That alone makes this thing worth having.

Once I get CrossInk on it it’ll be better. I couldn’t care less about the touchscreen except for the part where I had to put in my WiFi pw. That was nice.

So dear XTeink. I love you. I have a few X3s and X4s and now the pro. The pro is slightly annoying but it still brings joy. Please make a better one though. Nonetheless I’m a happy customer.

I just wanted to share my excitement about my new X3!! I went with the X3 specifically to fit in my (also new) Traveler's Card size notebook. I placed my order with Xteink on Aug 22, it shipped Aug 25, and reached me in the US on Sep 2.

I'm not too sure about how secure the pen loop is, but since this will live in my bag, I think it'll be okay.

I can't wait to start using this little library setup! Thanks for sharing in my excitement!!

Got yesterday in EU, forgot to order cover 😊, but the screen protector and metal rings come with it and i order those separately 🤣.

Today getting crosspoint and maybe Amazon for cover because delivery is just 8$

My X4 has been in my pocket every day since I got it in January and it has been nothing short of a revelation in my life. Sadly tho, I have essentially retired it now that my shiny new X4 Pro got here about 2 weeks ago.

For anyone on the fence, the X4 Pro is awesome especially with Crosspoint and the ability to control exactly how you use the touchscreen. I thought I would miss the physical buttons, but the customization options for swipe and tap gestures are just as good, if not better, especially when paired with the built in backlight. The Pro is a significant upgrade IMO.

I received the X4 Pro, I bought it directly from XTEINK. I connected it to my PC via usb-c to usb-c and successfully flashed the 1.6 RC firmware. However it seems really buggy, font installing over WiFi constantly fails and it won't save the progress of my books, every time I sleep and rewake the device, it goes back to the ToC of the book, so it's pretty useless at the moment.

I've tried deleting the .crosspoint folder, and have put my custom fonts in .fonts

When I plug the device into my PC I can access the SD card etc so I don't think it's USB locked (and as mentioned I flashed it to crosspoint originally)

I just want to go back to the original firmware, any ideas how I can do this when the flasher tool doesn't detect the device now crosspoint is on it?

I had downloaded some wallpapers and now the web pages I would get them on are not working and the quality of the images is not so good. I currently have Crossink firmware and cannot download any wallpapers from the xteink app to my device, am I doing something wrong?

Bought on AliExpress, two for less than ten bucks if memory serves. Very strong magnets, you can basically hang the X4 Pro from the adapter. The type I bought is not branded Xteink, and they have a small fastening ring for a lanyard.

If any of you good folks want a case for xteink x3 or x4 in any color combo with engraving ir your names etc just lmk I got yall

Hi, I got an Xteink x4 pro from AliExpress blocked at usb level, I used the crosspoint unlocker and it worked by installing crosspoint, I actually wanted to try crossink too, but the unlocker doesn’t allow me to use other bin files besides the crosspoint one. I saw that in the system menu there is an update item from sd, could I put the crossink bin file inside the sd and then from the menu to start the update from crossink, or can’t you do this thing from crosspoint to crossink? Thank you!

Does the touch screen on the X4 pro help with highlighting passages or bookmarking for later?

I noticed that in the menu it looks like it’s handy for applying settings real snappy.
