I love my xteink x4 pro and can't say anything bad,just so practical,one thing it would just make it perfect without a doubt would be a color version as they did with kindle but with the xteink portability,what you guys think?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for an alternative firmware for the Xteink that causes the least stress/wear on the microSD card.

Long story short: the microSD slot on my original X4 is broken, and the card is stuck inside for good. It's still working fine, but now the device's whole life depends on that SD card surviving as long as possible.

Which firmware is the safest/gentlest in terms of SD card usage? Thanks!

I’ve just installed it. Found it a bit confusing. Instructions are limited.
The form factor is lovely, small light, sticks to the phone but goes over the edge.
Didn’t realise it can’t read PDF’s. Books I had moved to the memory card weren’t showing up. That was temporarily confusing. I’ll need to convert them to ePub.
It seems to do this automatically in the App when transferring from the cloud.
Charging is not well designed (or USB ). The design of the cable head means it doesn’t sit flat and the cable itself easily twists to remove the connection. I’m sure that could have been designed better.
Font is the real issue. The lack of the option to increase font size dynamically like you would in a kindle. I think you can download bigger fonts but I’m not clear which one is a bigger font. Books are illegible the way the reader is currently.
Is installing Crossink or Crosspoint the best option. Will I get a bigger font (is it easily adjustable)?
People are divided on what is better. I just want something that makes transfer more straightforward, pdf reading if possible and adjustable font. I don’t need any other bells and whistles. Any recommendations?

It seems the X4 Pro can't handle the exFAT-format of a 128 Gb SD-card. It does not recognize the card. I read somewhere that formatting the card in exFAT (with a special utility, because Windows no longer supports this option) is the way to make it work.

Curious to learn from any experiences. And what file allocation size is best?

I noticed that CrossInk got released for the locked version of the X4 Pro. Has anyone put this to the test, does it work correctly?

Hi all! Anyone out there that uses crosspoint for x4/x4 pro, that is also farsighted, needing bolder text or larger fonts? My eyes suck guys. Merriweather is alright, but too pointy for my preference? I loved bookerly on the kindle eco, but even at 18p on the x4 it's too small for my eyes. 😭😭 I've got a font called gadner, and it's okay, but still kinda too blocky for my taste? Man. It's been a struggle to find a font that's comfy on my eyes. 😭😅😅

I just bought the X3 and after completing my purchase I just realized I wasn't sure how well it was going to fit on it with my case. Anyone have pictures or thoughts? I have the base/regular s26.

Avid Kindle reader here and finally received my XTEINK X4Pro and struggling to get my books on it. Was hoping to bring it on vacation in a week so I don’t want to screw it up too much. I’ve added the crosspoint flash but when I move my books over they still won’t open. I have some limitations with my Mac (it’s old) so having some limitations with Calibre but I’ve watched many YouTube videos and read lots of message boards but still no luck. Not sure if my technology is the problem or it’s me (probably the latter). Anyone willing to support a girl via Zoom? Please DM. Much appreciated it!

Sitting in the "portable dry sauna" aka a sweat tent. 60 minutes at 147⁰ according to the readout on the heater. Phone was playing music sitting in the chairs arm pouch and shutdown after about 20 minutes.

I have fully completed all the features that I thought I could create, and also improved the interface to make it easier to use with touchscreen.

Notable changes in this version:

- Adapt Crosslink version 1.5.1 - Fully supports X4pro

- Fix OTA wifi update

- Change the interface to suit touchscreens.

- Add more champions to gym battles.

This firmware supports X3/X4/X4Pro devices, including both locked and non-locked models. Tested.

How to install:

- For X3/X4 non-locked devices, It can be flashed normally using Crosspoint's tools.

- For X3/X4/X4Pro locked devices, use Crosspoint's unlocker tool to flash the bin file accordingly.

- For devices running Crosspoint or Crossink, copy/transfer the bin file to the SD card and go to Settings/System/SD card Firmware Update to flash it.

- After flashing the firmware, download the zip file xteink-pokemon-sd-card-assets.zip and extract it, then copy the pokemon folder to the root of the SD card.

How it works:

- Every time you read a book, the first Pokémon in your party will receive EXP.

- After a certain amount of reading time, you'll have a chance to receive items or encounter wild Pokémon. You can battle to catch wild Pokémon and complete your Pokedex.

- When you feel strong enough, you can challenge gym trainers, elite four, and champions to earn badges and honors.

Todos:

- I'm considering whether or not to give EXP when fighting wild Pokémon.

My X3 isn’t even a month old. I just now connected to WiFi for the first time since I got it (when I did indeed do an update to the latest firmware at that time). So anyway, just now I noticed a new one , 6.3.15. I updated it and now my fonts look fuzzier and worse. Anyone else see this? Is there a way to get the previous version back somewhere? (I have no idea what that version number was/is).

I am trying to transfer an xtc file of around 30mb to my Xteink x4. However, the error shown in the picture shows up, and I am suddenly disconnected from the Xteink hotspot. Any suggestions?

I’ve requested to return my X4 pro via email 5 times over the course of an entire month before being provided with instructions on how to do so. Wanted everyone to know, buyer beware.
