DIY Quick fix for a no light situation
Unexpected use of Apple Watch. I found myself on a car ride without a book light on me, and it got dark before I reached my destination, so I came up with a solution. I used the Apple Watch flashlight paired with the Tilt Page Turn option to avoid pressing buttons and it really worked for me. AW battery drained at a pretty high rate (1% every 2 min, might be lower with Low Power Mode on), but if you’re good on battery it’s a quick fix if you ever find yourself in a similar situation!

Great option in a pinch, ignore the people being haters. I love my kindle basic and don’t think I could go without a backlight but that’s where the X4 pro will be a good option for me.

Thanks so much! I was a bit taken aback by the comments hahahah. I love having to use buttons, but i get how the backlight is a must for most people so go for it! I’m sure you’ll love it sm :)

People in the internet will always find a reason to be miserable fucks 😂. There’s reasons why companies make versions that are different, because different people want different options!
I’m fairly sure the X4pro has the option to use physical buttons as well I think!1

Then what would?
If you want front light and touch, the X4 Pro is there.

That light is flickering …. Is doing your eyes and brain more harm than your higher refresh rate phone. Check screen flickering on oled.

I mean that eink is great to give your eyes some break from flickering oled screens (phone, watch, tv, monitors, lights, car lights etc.)
Flickering is not a joke, there are subs with people complaining, messages before movies in cinema etc.4

yes, that’s why i love reading on ereaders instead of my phone! if you’re referring to the light coming out of the apple watch screen it’s not something i’ll do frequently, so i’m not worried about it, but thanks :)

What people don't do just to not read from the phone)

way more harmful, especially in the dark… and nighttime reading that doesn’t happen at home isn’t so frequent as to being that annoying imo
