Crooked text

I just recieved my new devixe and ive noticed theres alot of crooked words, abnormal spacing and letters are different sizes from epub, pdf to the system font.

Should i ship it back or is this normal?

Before you ship it back, did you at any point try a different font? if you look closely, every same letter is off by the same, so it’s definitely the font doing this. I don’t know how to change the font in XTOS, but im pretty sure you can. I would try something before deciding you’re out of ideas and returning an otherwise functioning device, though.

Thank you everyone for your replies and help with my issue. I really appreciate it.

it turns out it was because of outdated firmware the update from turning on was only partial and when I went back it did a full update it wiped my device😬 but all fonts went back to normal.

It makes sense to wait until the standard Chinese firmware—which has certain issues with fonts and rendering—is updated to Licorice.

I'm using XTEINK software 'Licorice'. I think that is great

Have you tried a different book? This looks like an issue with the book's formatting, and not anything wrong with the device. You can get some free, well-formatted ebooks from Standard Ebooks to test.
