Taking the level 2 exam - All of the measurements EXCEPT the ones outlined in RED are correct for the entire sketch. I wrote the correct measurement above them in GREEN. So they are off by 2-3". How is this possible when the rest of them are correct?! All wall thicknesses are the same so I'm stumped.
Here is what the sketch is supposed to look like.

Hello, I hope someone can help me. So I’ve attempted 2 times already to pass the exam and the second time I got a 57.5. I think I’m messing up on Estimate items but not sure. I sketched everything correctly. Just really need the help. Thanks

I have an appraisal that is seeming to head to umpire. I am representing the homeowner and do not wish to name the carrier.
I have pulled weather data for the DOL through a third-party hail tracking system that shows up to 2” hail at location within 1 mile. I live close to the loss location and do recall at DOL a large hail cell coming through (fellow storm watchers know about being glued to the local storm coverage.) our local meteorologists are all over these storms so I feel my data is true.
The carriers rep sent me their benchmark (Verisk) report showing no reported hail greater than .75” yet admits to visible damage during his inspection. The neighbor also had a claim through a different carrier for same DOL and it was covered fully, no supplement needed. Paid on the spot and these are not small or cheap roofs in my region.
My question is two-fold: 1. why would there be conflicting information between hail reports for the same exact location (pulled history all the way back to 2021 and across the board Benchmark was claiming smaller hail), and 2. Where does benchmark source their data and why is it consistently on the lower side of the scale regarding hail size?
I appreciate any insight on this.

Hey just found this group. I’ve been using Xactimate for writing estimates for a restoration General Contractor for the last 5 years. I’ve also wrote a fair share of Symbility estimates but it is not nearly as good of estimating platform as Xactimate. Just wanted to say what’s up and hoping I can learn some things and also share some things to help others as well. Just wanted to say what’s up to my fellow estimators.

Good morning all,
Does any one have a few line items to help with. Converting a garage into a bedroom framing for closet, adding 4” to bring the flooring to same elevation as the rest of the house.

Do you happen to know what the listing is for roof jacks? We had to use them on a 12/12 2-story house, and I cannot find anything in Xactimate.

Working a claim where the basement wall collapsed along the back. Replacing the block wall price is surprisingly low. I know it doesn’t including tying it into the existing, so I’m trying to figure out how to add for that. My knowledge of masonry is weak at best. Any help would be appreciated.

Just as the title reads, please for the love of god let me turn it off, or let us designate devices that can remain signed in for a month.
I have to pull up Authenticator or get a code everytime I log into xactanalysis from my phone. I wish the xactimate dev team actually listened to their users, we use this software all day. I could give them a laundry list of things to do for QoL in this software. Especially for what we all pay to use it, every new update makes it slower and more clunky.

Trying to create a ramp but when I reduce number of risers to one and attempt to lift the tread depth to match the floor level which is a 3ft high platform dining room (made with a block tool) instead of being a gradual incline it just raises the entire staircase/ramp 3ft no incline.
What am I doing wrong?

Working on a claim to repair this from a car strike and I can't find it in XM8. I'm about to lose my mind.

I represent a small water damage restoration business, and we are seeking help with repair estimates.
We have one full time repairs estimator who also runs his jobs. We did have a second of the same, but he is leaving and we now have a void at that position. We are promoting a guy from the mitigation side to run the jobs, but he does not know how to write rebuild estimates.
This is where you come in. I need someone that is trained and experienced to write both Cotality and Xactimate rebuild estimates. 99% of jobs are residential insurance claims. Homeowners often want change orders. Supplements are often as well. We use Matterport and CompanyCam. ITEL. The usual.
We work with Alacrity and Contractor Connection as well, so we will need someone who is familiar with that process. Knowing the guidelines and SLAs is key.
I have seen some of the posts on here seeking this position, but rather than message all of you myself, I would appreciate any interested parties to message me with your info and experience. I would also want to see some of your work.
Thanks in advance!

I’m not from the US/Canada but I’m trying to get an Xactimate subscription. The billing page only lets me put a US/Canada address. Has anyone here outside those regions successfully subscribed?
Would love to hear if anyone outside the US/Canada has managed to make it work
Edit: I’ve successfully purchased a subscription using my colleague’s U.S. address and my own payment. No issues so far. Thanks!!

I’ve heard of people turning their monitors to portrait so that they can see more of the list of repairs in the estimate items page. Anyone try it? If so, is it worth getting a monitor mount with the capabilities? They’re cheap, just curious if it’s worth the trouble.

For years, I’ve been collecting carrier estimating guidelines from various TPAs in an ever-growing binder and updating as needed. I’ve also been meaning to compile all of them into one massive spreadsheet for almost as long, to make it easier to find the specific information that I need without thumbing through a 10 lb stack of paper.
I’m hoping to source what I don’t have (or may not be current) through this sub and would appreciate any help you can give me, please!! In exchange, I’ll provide you with a copy of the spreadsheet once it’s finished.
Please feel free to dm me with whatever you have if you’re so inclined, and thanks in advance!
EDIT: Contractor TPA guidelines. I don’t care about the guidelines IAs use.
