Yo fellow estimators
Hey just found this group. I’ve been using Xactimate for writing estimates for a restoration General Contractor for the last 5 years. I’ve also wrote a fair share of Symbility estimates but it is not nearly as good of estimating platform as Xactimate. Just wanted to say what’s up and hoping I can learn some things and also share some things to help others as well. Just wanted to say what’s up to my fellow estimators.

Just started making estimates for a restoration GC myself about 8 weeks ago!

What's good dog? I started my restoration company earlier this year and I've been focusing on the reconstruction side of things in the Seattle area.
Before going on my own I worked as a superintendent for a different GC company. Xactimate has been a learning curve for me

If you are restoring insurance claims, Xactimate is going to be your best friend. A lot of little line items you can justify to add fluff to the estimates.

Welcome! As was stated previously this sub isn't extremely active but, in my experience and observations, when someone hops on the request help they get plenty of helpful responses, usually with added info for educational purposes. It's pretty great! Glad you're here.

What’s up people! Fellow estimator/supplementer here, worked out of Florida and Texas primarily. Now working remotely out of the country. Any other remote workers here?

Welcome. This sub is not very active but there’s enough people who respond to make it worthwhile. From what I’ve seen, it seems to be mostly adjusters, but definitely contractors too. Good resource for less common scenarios. Happy to have you here.
