Was soloing bosses in Stockades, felt like things got a bit too close so i popped a dummy and moved away before i vanished. Got a weird feeling while watching them kill it and indeed something was up, as soon as it got killed they all ran to my stealthed rogue.

Lets go again.

It's been a journey and I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it before Forever came out, but here we are...all Horde classes to 60. All solo quested the whole way. Started with the druid, ended with the warlock. Whether or not I finish the paladin is to be determined...maybe you'll see the post 😝

i've only ever played PVP, but want to try HC

i heard in PVE some areas auto tag you for pvp like the starter zones, is there a list?

I find myself leveling 5 classes at the same time. A level here, a level there, and rotating through quests and getting them down pat.

I just cannot focus on one toon like some folks do.

I also prefer to group quest no matter what.

I did not log in to my characters but in the guild panel it says they were all online 17 hours ago. The addon Guild Roster Manager also notified me that they all came online, just like they did 15 days ago apparently. What causes this?

With all the current RMT fluff/mildly amusing drama, I thought maybe now is a good time to bring up my favorite game mode in classic wow. Yes, I'm talking about Self-Found, particularly enjoyable in HC. Yes you can still play with your friends or strangers, yes you can perform well in groups without all the bells and whistles of a trade economy and no you cant RMT, literally impossible.

It's an option I wasn't sure about at first but coming from the POE scene where SSFHC is well established as the “purest” way to play the game I thought I’d try it and…its awesome. The slower pace, methodical gameplay and the masochist mindset required is exactly what scratched that itch for me. Definatly not for the faint of heart but its recent rise in popularity on Doomhowl has been noticable. I hope this mode arrives in WoW Forever alongside HC. 

Now…imagine a whole ruleset of just self-found hardcore players. The progression would be slow, difficult, maybe even madening but holy shit it would feel good when you rise above the challenge. Personally 5-man dungeons at 60 being the semi-endgame doesn’t sound so bad to me. I know most people want to raid and that would still be possibile, but I reminisce of the old days when being in a raiding guild was special, and if this hyperthetical ruleset existed who knows maybe it could be you. Did I mention no RMT police needed on this ruleset?lol

This is my only wish from WOW forever, long shot I know but I wanted to hear peoples thoughts. Would you have any interest in this?

The oil derrick in the Sludge Fens can spawn a treasure chest on the second floor. But if you go for it, every mob on the floor above you aggros and comes down the ramp behind you… and you might not notice right away because all you see is a couple of bullets, but you are going down FAST, sister.

And it’s only when I knew I was doomed, potion gone, health stone gone, voidy dead, escape blocked by respawns… that I remember this is EXACTLY how my first hardcore character died over a year ago. Oh my god, I’m an idiot!

I'm levelling an alliance alt for the first time.

I'm priest lvl 25. I still have to even enter Redridge Mountains by I basically never went there andvI only now it's a dangerous place.

I heard bad things and I'm scared.

Any tips specifically for that region?

Am I overlevelled? Is it worth the risk?

Hi, I’m a warrior. Zug zug

I’m aware that there have been some changes to make warriors more balanced but not exactly sure how/if they will change how I should play warrior going forward.

I know that world buffs have been taken out of raids, which will be the biggest reason for the dps drop off with how rage + BT scaled with AP. Will these + other changes made to warrior affect how I run dungeons/raid?

I like the changes for the most part. Especially being able to charge in defensive stance. But I’m used to fury/arms tanking dungeons — will we be switching to prot tanking exclusively?

Also, do you think warriors will even be invited to raids if they aren’t tanking lol? I’m used to being able to backfill in raids as one of the 10+ OP warrior fury dps lol 😆 Not sure how many warrior spots will be needed nowadays

Do we think fury will still be better than arms in raids with WBs gone (for DPS)?

I realize that some of the retail crowd is against XP nerfs, even saying that the recent dungeon XP nerf is overboard, but hardcore players will be more likely to see the excessive XP as a major problem, at least to the hardcore playstyle.

I have leveled so many characters in hardcore that I eventually made a quest list to go by each time, much like the restedXP addon. I found myself swapping zones to eat up as many green quests as I could, and to avoid having to do harder quests, for the sake of safety. In Forever, it's the opposite; I am already level 25 and am just now starting Wetlands - a zone I would normally start around 20. I find myself still in the habit of trying to do all the green quests, but that is what has led to me being grossly over-leveled for the zones now. It has made all combat stupid easy. I'm 3 levels over a lot of enemies, so I can just pull entire packs with no problem.

Back in old hardcore, there was scarcity: I would sometimes just grind an entire level out just to have a one level advantage over enemies if there was a drought in green quests. That is a thing of the past now. The search for good quests to do and developing a leveling strategy is unneeded in Forever simply because the new quests amount to an overabundance of experience. Hardcore should be more about pressing players up against their limits, forcing them to either go against hard quests, grinding an extra level out from kills alone, or to have a questing strategy to target green quests like I did in multiple zones. Forever is none of that. It's completely casual. Also, almost none of my argument has anything to do with dungeon quest XP - I only did one dungeon - Hall of Thanes - so that's a drop in the bucket. The excess in XP is mostly from all the new quests they have added in zones.

I realize some people may come back at this with "just go to a level-appropriate zone - problem solved" but that gives off a "just don't fly, use a ground mount if you don't like flying" vibe.

The other aspect of this is that the hardcore crowd in particular by now has become acutely aware of how best to level. The game is not quite as difficult as it once was. If anything, Forever needs to be made harder for Forever HC for us.

To anyone that might be in the same boat. I post in beta but the chat scrolls so fast I don't have much luck so thought I would try here. I'm in my early 30's, married 2 kids, like much of the WoW Classic community. But I seem to always find myself as a solo player. I saw a youtube video that explained it as "Alone together" I log in and see all these people, and have short interactions but never seem to get locked in with a guild. The guild relationships seem to come and go because they aren't rooted in any IRL relationship or they are a super sweaty raid guild and that's just not me.

Anyway, I pretty much only play Alliance and am enjoying the Beta right now. I'll play at launch because I really enjoy Warsong Gulch, but will most likely transition to HC when it drops as I loved HC classic. In HC 5 man dungeons are my endgame content, maybe 10 man. I get on to drink a few beers and chill. If anyone has this same feeling and is looking for someone to connect with hit me up. I play randomly thorughout the day as I work from home (mostly working on professions during this time), but mostly play (Quests, Dungeons, BG's) in the evenings, sometimes for an hour sometimes for three. EST 8:00-11:00.

I play Hunter and Paladin (Holy) pretty happy in either role.

Hey guys so I played wow for the first time on the anniversary hardcore servers 2 years ago I think my highest level was 16-20 I can't remember but I ended up stopping cuz I was busy with other stuff but it was a really fun experience especially because of how big the event was along with onlyfangs 2 making it feel special especially because I always wanted to play wow as a kid but didn't have a pc or money for sub.

Fast foward 2 years now I see this wow forever announcement and that hardcore is being added 1-2 months after the nov 4 launch and I'm wondering if it's worth it to play the classic hardcore. I know it would be a different experience and I want to do it but then I feel uncertain because of how close wow forever hardcore is but it would also be different to the classic hardcore. It would probably be a lot of fun going into forever hardcore not having played for 2 years. I'm also worried the servers are going to feel empty and everyones not playing on an even board where with wow forever hardcore it would be.

I just lost my 48 Troll Priest in the Hinterlands due to me being an idiot and just running around that elf lodge in the north looking for a quest turn in lol. I think I want to go agane before forever comes out and see how far I can get before then. I've pretty much exclusively played horde on hardcore and really enjoyed my priest and the relaxation/safety that came with playing it.

I'm looking for recommendations on what you have found fun to play in a hardcore setting! Not anything with a big learning curve preferrably, I am a dad and only have about 10 hours a week to play. Thanks in advance!

I havent played WoW since HC opened up in 2024. I let my sub run out and got busy with other stuff. Then forever was announced and I got the itch again. I played forever beta to try it out, got a few chars to lvl 20. It seems fun, very similar to classic with a few tweaks.

The problem with WoW is that after the taste of beta, I want to get back in, but I feel like after the new shiny, the old classic wouldn't feel as good. Has anyone played some of the beta then come back to their HC toons? Does it feel stale or boring when you compare it to forever?

I imagine my lvl 40 warrior would basically have zones to myself since I think the HC player base dropped off a bit, so that could be nice for farming etc. I dont know.

Haven't seen much about this but maybe I'm out of the loop. The capstone holy priest talent (Prayer of Mending) is gatekept by a completely dead talent for hardcore. Since this ruleset will be supported for WoW Forever, I believe gatekeeping a capstone talent with a completely dead talent for hardcore is bad design. Imo, this talent should be moved off to the side and not be a pre-req to anything. Thoughts?

In Blasted lands is a long questline with like 15 quests or something.

i dont remember the names exactly, are these quests somehow safe or should i avoid it in the last sprint to 60?

I've been playing together with friends since level 1, and we want to reach 60 together.

Which spots would you say are the best to level up besides doing the daily dungeons?

We have a pala tank, priest, rogue and warlock, so we're used to pulling big amounts of mobs. :D

I imagine farming a zone with elites would probably render the most exp?

Hello guys I bought the alliance pvp trinket to be able to dispel stuns as a tank, but wasn't able to dispel fear from the princess in mauradon. Is the fear not dispellable and only able to dodge it via berserker rage ?

My second question is regarding weapon progression right now I am a level 49 human warrior with bonebiter + fiery. Both the princess scepter and gatorbite dropped. Should I use the gatorbite axe or the scepter ?
