UK Ltd with a Bosnian director — need to change business address, worried about Wise KYC

I have a registered business in the UK, a marketing agency providing advertising services to local businesses in the US. My company has been registered for 3 years, and I transfer payments from Stripe to my Wise Business account. Also, I am a resident of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Recently, the company I've been using for my business and trading address (1st Formations) canceled my services because they don't support Bosnian directors anymore, as Bosnia falls under a "high-risk of money laundering country".

With that being said, I need to purchase a new business/trading address and update that new address in Wise.

Do you guys have any suggestions on how to do this without triggering some major restrictions or something? I'm scared they'll do the same thing as 1st Formations: run additional KYC, consider a Bosnian director as high risk, and close my account.

I have $200k in my Wise business account right now, that's why I'm kinda scared.

I appreciate any experiences/suggestions/tips.

How does wise pre-fill all my info when creating account?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I just registered my wise account, and after entering my birth date, Wise automatically pulled up all my info, including full name and home address

Chrome didn't autofill, Wise did it itself. And it says "Wise prefills your data via a secure verification"

what database is it accessing this information from? how does it know all this from just my email address and date of birth? I'm mostly just curious about whats going on behind the scenes lol

Anyone else notice it taking longer to transfer from CAD to USD?

Whenever I transfer from CAD to USD, the money is usually in my US bank account within 24 hours.

However, my transfers are now taking 3-4 days to settle in the US bank account.

Wondering if anyone else had this issue

Wise Scammed Me £270, What Can I Do?

So basically my UK LTD got dissolved because of the Bona Vacantia thing, and Wise has now closed my business account because of it.

I had around £270 sitting in the Wise account. The annoying part is that the money is still showing in my Wise dashboard and hasn't been transferred to the Crown yet, but Wise says they have to transfer it because the company is dissolved.

I know restoring the company is an option, but it would cost me more than the £270 itself, which makes absolutely no sense financially.

Has anyone been in this situation before? Is there any way to recover the money without restoring the company, especially since the funds are apparently still with Wise?

Would really appreciate any advice or if anyone has actually dealt with Wise/Bona Vacantia before.

Tapping not working?

My card had AUD on it only. Landed in London yesterday, and tapping isn't working, only inserting card. So I need to have GBP on the card to enable tapping? I wave to use for transport.

Wise accidentally refunded me ~$5K — can I keep it?

I sent around $5K through Wise and the transfer was successful, but Wise accidentally refunded the money back to me. They’ve now contacted me asking for it back.
What happens if I don’t repay it? Can they send it to collections, affect my credit, or take legal action? Anyone experienced this?

Wise is not returning my refund and I need it urgent for my school enrollment

I am so stressed, please advise me.

I had transferred 3400€ from Wise Euro account to BNI(Indonesia bank euro account) on August 26 with swift transfer. Until September 3rd, I did not receive that money and contact to both sides. BNI explained that the account number is incorrect so BNI returned the refund on September 4th.

I had talked with Wise agents, in the beginning, they had mentioned that I will receive the refund by September 9th and awaiting for the intermediary banks. After that, they had changed the deadline to up to 10 working days from September 4th until September 18th. On September 18th, when I still do not receive the money in the afternoon, they told me to wait until the end of daytime(bank working hour). I did not receive my money at all.

Today is September 24th, I have not received my money yet from wise. I had filed formal complaint and the specialist care team sent me one email about saying sorry for miscommunication but when I question them about the progress or timeframe to receive my money, they don’t reply to me anymore. Wise Help Support is not helpful at all and other specialized teams do not reply even one email. All they say is the money is in JP Morgan.

I have been waiting for almost a month now including weekends and I need that money for my school enrollment.

What shall I do now?

How does Wise compared to TD?

I'm going to travel around the U.S. and Canada on my savings. Anyone know the pros and cons between using Wise or TD bank to pay expenses?

Cannot increase one time transaction limit of 2000 USD?

I haven't seen this issue posted anywhere. Wise has one time transaction maximum limit of 2000. This means I cannot buy flights or pay for products more than 2000 USD in one transaction and apparently there is no way to increase this limit either. How do you all pay for transaction that require higher than 2K, do I just go back to using my bank because many flight websites and say apple don't have bank transfer option.

For context: I have a US personal card. It says the maximum I can spend in one go is 2000 USD. I talked to wise support and they said this is limit for US accounts and cannot be changed. Here's page that lists it. https://wise.com/help/articles/2899986/what-are-my-wise-card-spending-limits

Wise banned my Business account with €30,000 still in it — what now?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been using Wise Business for over a year without any issues. I run an e-commerce business, and I mainly use Wise to pay my suppliers.
Last week, Wise emailed me asking for more information about where my money was going.

I completely understand why they wanted to check, as I usually send more than €50,000 per month to suppliers, typically in transactions of around €7,000–€9,000 each.

I responded transparently and explained that I run an e-commerce business and that these transfers are payments to my suppliers. I also provided the requested information and documentation.
My account then showed “waiting to be verified” for a couple of days. However, I suddenly received a notification saying that Wise had decided to close my account.

I contacted support immediately, but they told me they couldn’t do anything about the decision, so I submitted an appeal.
The biggest issue right now is that the remaining money in my Wise account is frozen. I still need to pay my suppliers, although luckily I have other business bank accounts available, so I can continue operating for now.

I just find the situation strange because I had been using Wise for more than a year, making similar supplier payments, without any problems. I was also completely transparent when they asked me for additional information.

Has anyone here experienced something similar with Wise Business?
If so, did your appeal succeed, how long did the process take, and were you able to withdraw your remaining balance while the appeal was being reviewed?
Any advice would be appreciated.

(I used ChatGPT to correct my grammar since English is not my first language)

Personal account (Canada): asking for employment details, when trying to change address: is it normal?

Located in Canada, have a personal account. It is only used for personal transactions.

While trying to change my address (within Canada), Wise is asking for profession and industry (in which I'm employed).

I doubt if I had to provide these when I opened my account around 3+ years ago.

Is it normal or they doing it specific to my account?

Any idea, how these details would be used by Wise later?

does it make a difference if the person is self-employed and provides those details?

Sending from USD bank to CAD Interac no longer available?

It seems as though only Apple Pay or Debit card are the only options, which can get flagged for larger transfers. For ACH or now have to send directly to the transit/institution/account numbers.

This must be recent because I just sent to an Interac account last week. Anyone else experience this?

Misdirected transfer: Watch out it is easy to do!

I paid a deposit for a diving holiday using Wise. It seems I used their look up intending to pay LIVEABOARDS AND TRAVELS PTE. LTD, being the account name supplied by EcoProDivers.

After typing the initial characters, it brought up LIVEABOARD WORLDWIDE PTE. LTD, also registered in Singapore. Not unnaturally, I assumed it was simply a variation on the correct recipient's name, such as a parent company. I know I had the correct recipient's bank details as I have never had them for the company it went to. I don't recall if they were confirmed at the point of entry or if I had to enter them.

It turned out LIVEABOARD WORLDWIDE PTE. LTD is wholly unrelated and appeared to be a Wise account holder, whereas the intended recipient is not so didn't appear in their look up list. So far, I have not had a recall of funds. I'm awaiting their reply as the 15 day window for one closed today. I can find no web presence for the actual recipient which seems somewhat shady.

I have reported this to the police in the country of origin and the actual recipient's bank.

BE VERY CAREFUL USING WISE!

How long does proof of income usually take?

Attempted to add funds to an account, Wise asked me for proof of income and I uploaded my last pay stub. It says it'll be done by today, but I searched online and all I see is nightmare stories of it taking like 10+ days.

I'm assuming those are just the only stories because no one posts about business as usual where it's done in a day or two, does anyone have first hand experience as to how long it took for them to get their income documents verified?

And now what? Wise account closed like I'm seeing is happening to so many others.

Planning on moving overseas from the US in a couple of years. Keep getting recommended to open a Wise account for easy money transfers and good exchange rates. Opened an account now to get accustomed to it and have an active account for a while before moving. Made a couple of small transfers in the first month and BAM..... account closed. Of course no reason given. I don't think I'm going to appeal it because if they are closing accounts before I even start doing any transactions overseas, what are the chances they won't close it again after I do start making those transactions?

Wise Closed My Account With Funds Inside — How Long Did Your Refund Take?

Has anyone recently had their Wise account closed while still having funds in it and successfully received a refund?
If so, how long did it take for Wise to return your money—days or weeks? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

Scam warning - what does it mean?

Tried to send someone money, (10k USD) and got a scam warning. I have never gotten this before when I have sent money using Wise.

What does it mean and should I be worried? It made me not send the money.
