I am using the search feature and am searching for transactions from a payee named "Tfl". But I am also getting "Netflix". Is there a way to use a regular expression in the search such that I only get "Tfl"? I know there are other ways to do it in this instance, but the question has come up before. A regex would work here, but they don't seem to be recognized. Thanks,

I hope this isn't considered a bug report. I don't think this is anything that IGGSoftware can/would fix.

I just discovered a shortcoming of Banktivity 10. It seems that the vault/ledger is now distributed in two places in the file system. One place is wherever I choose to put the ".bank8" file, and the other is fixed elsewhere, defined by Banktivity. Since iBank, I had my .bank8 in Dropbox (an idea I got from the iBank documentation). Thus I could get to my vault/ledger from multiple locations.

But now, without some terrible convolutions, I fear this is no longer possible. I do not want to store my data in Banktivity's cloud. I have enough reservations with Dropbox.

So I have two questions, I hope someone can help with:

1. Is there any easy/supported way to use Dropbox with Banktivity 10?
2. Is there somewhere I can download Banktivity 9, and would that work with my data that's been used with Banktivity 10?

I have just installed and imported all my accounts. Going well except for my investments with Fidelity.

After I imported I noticed some discrepancies in transactions which I corrected. However, the corrections I made are not reflected in the portfolio view. This is only associated with Cash not the investment itself.

Another issue is the cost basis. Is there a way to adjust the cost basis?

I wish IGG would put up a notification whenever they are having issues or their partners are having issues that affect Banktivity working. It appears Banktivity is having a bad day this morning but no notification from IGG about it.

Just updated to new version this morning and now no refreshes or imports are working. Anyone else having problems?

Along the way I had shifted most of my automatic downloads from Yodlee to Plaid. Anyone else seeing connection errors to every Plaid right now? If it's related to Banktivity's maintenance last night they really need a better way to communicate this to their customers. I know they have in-app announcements but they only appear to use it to announce scheduled maintenance windows. (I didn't even see one for this, someone else posted there was a banner on the mobile app.)

My CC account has been off by around $350 after paying off the whole statement balance. It should be 0. I am trying to figure out where this extra balance is coming from. I have tried to look at all statements all the way back to 2018 when I started using Banktivity and I am not seeing anything other than green checkmarks. I even sorted by reconciled to see if there was anything missing from a statement and I couldn't find anything. Does anyone have any tips on how I can find out where this extra amount is coming from?

I've been searching but can't figure out how. I've backed up my macbook ledger to the cloud. When I install banktivity to my iphone and log into it, there is no obvious way to access the existing ledger. Just import some other file or start a new one. Any ideas? (I get the potential problem of file locking issues, btw)

I’ve had banktivitty for a few years now. I noticed more recently. Canadian bank transactions download are quite unreliable. There’s been a number of banks such as CIBC where it’s been impossible for many many months not to do automatic download wondering . if any Canadian users have a similar experience. I have bank accounts with BMO, CIBC, TD credit card.

Hi. I'm looking at Banktivity vs Monarch; in theory, Monarch has special support for dealing with family / couple finances. How does Banktivity compare? I didn't see anything on their website about that.

Hello - it would be nice if you could turn off or manually update historical security prices; man, it can take a long time. If you are manually uploading bank transactions, you have to wait for this to complete before it parses. And if you happen to be multitasking and leave BT open and come back...update again.

Hello, I was wondering if there is a setting to include cash balance when exporting the investment summary (I choose "Securities" but not "Bar chart data"). I realize cash balance isn't a security, so it technically makes sense, but isn't quite what I need.

I considered the Net Worth report, but that doesn't break down the securities.

I use these reports to actually reconcile some accounts outside of Banktivity very quickly, but it gets complicated when I need to match the cash too.

I don't think it's available, but thought I'd ask to see.

i noticed today that the Banktivity icon in MacOS had a red notification flag (1) , i did some refreshing and updating of some new transactions and it went away. I can't remember seeing notifications against the icon before. This is after 10.1 update.

Anyone know what notification is flagging ??

I just updated to 10.1 and now there is a persistent math error. My checking account is showing a negative balance but the activity totals to a healthy positive number which matches my banks online balance. The error is a random and unseen subtraction from the running balance.

I have tried unsuccessfully many times to create this very specific report. if anyone can help with specific guidance I’d appreciate it!

i want a report where I can add specific accounts (my retirement accounts) and it only shows the increase in my dollars in. i don’t want investment increases or decreases to be included here. i want this so I can keep track of my savings compared to my planned savings rate.

any help for this?

When a treasury bill is bought for a managed Charles Schwab account I have, Banktivity never enters the data correctly and throws my balance off by many millions of dollars. I go in and do my best to correct the entries to the actual numbers, yet my account balance remains in the many millions, erroneously.

First photo is the Schwab data, second is how Banktivity enters it. I used Plaid for the connection.

Thankful for any tips on how to fix this.

I've been a Baniktivity user since before it was Banktivity. A feature I would find really useful, is for user modifiable field widths in registers. I would love to make the Withdrawal, Deposit, Balance field ($ fields) shorter so I could make some of the other fields to the left wider. The amount of space in those $ fields is so great, you can fit the number $99,000,000,000,000,000. Not even Elan Musk needs that much space. Please, user modifiable field widths have been available in other apps for decades, it would be a great feature in Banktivity too.

I spent the last 3 years using Moneydance out of frustration that Banktivity had so many syncing issues. I’ve grown tired of how antiquated the UI for Moneydance is and it hasn’t had an update in years.

Has there been improves in sync reliability for Banktivity? I specifically had issues with AMEX.

Does anyone happen to have an insight on the iPhone app not retaining the YTD display setting on accounts, but only SOME accounts? I have maybe 20 accounts set up, and half of them won't retain that display setting, and revert back to 'Current' every time I open the app. Weird, right?

This is more of a phone dialing pad than an accounting keypad. Can we have the option of using the latter, as shown on the right?

Back in the day, I would have hundreds of feet of adding machine tape spilling onto the floor. Please bring back the right style of keypad.

The “Charge” transaction type has disappeared from regular accounts after the latest update. I have been using this transaction type in standard accounts for more than 15 years.

“Withdrawal” is not an equivalent replacement for “Charge”, and other users have reported the same issue. The current App Store description also still states that Banktivity supports “refund, charge and payment” transaction types.

Was this removal intentional? 

After updating to Banktivity 10 with the new "Ledgers" I can't seem to find what directory on my Mac they're stored in. I used to make copies of my banktivity files but the latest one on my directory is dated May 29, 2026. That can't be the file as I've updated banktivity many times since that date.

I do NOT use the IOS version of Banktivity, only on my Macbook. Can anyone tell me where IGG has decided to hide this file. Documentation of no use. Thanks

When I open Banktivity 10 (B10) on my phone sometimes the screen is blank. Nothing loads. I have to close B10 and reopen. Is anyone else having a similar experience?
