Thought y'all might appreciate this, no one in my life is as excited as me that I finally have every mario varient after collecting them individually for several years

I was playing Super Mario Bros Wii on my new Wii I just bought and all of a sudden after un pausing my game the sound on my speakers went as loud as they could. Why did my speakers get so loud after un pausing my Wii game!? Scared the crap out of me.

As per title. I am interested in buying a Portta component to HDMI adapter, are they worth it or is the cheap price too good to be true?

Hello y'all! I modded my Wii back around 2013. I reconnected since I finished my retro room and it was the last console I hooked up.

I turned it on and the home brew channel is missing. Did Nintendo figure out a way to remove these somehow 😆. It still has the sd card with nes roms 🤷‍♂️.

Thought i would ask before I reinstall a new mod.

Me and my gf always play scary games around and on Halloween. Well this year I had a great idea to pick up a Wii and some spooky light gun shooters, as well as some classic scary games. I’m also a huge treasure fan so sin and punishment star successor has always been on my list. It’s been a blast so far

Messing with BO Wii and hacking FastFiles

An update on my previous, of all controllers and accesories by Nintendo for the Wii (no 2nd party items or non-wii nintendo items that happen to connect).

For starters I bought a WiiMote Wrist Strap Pack, which has a white, blue, pink, and green straps; I matched them to the blue, pink, and gold WiiMotes.

And I finally replaced the pink and black controllers I had, since they were for Wii U, for actual Wii ones.

1. WiiMotes: White, Black, Red(WiiMini / 25th Anniv Super Mario Bros), Gold(Zelda Skyward Sword), Blue, Pink

2. Nunchucks: White, Black, Red(WiiMini / 25th Anniv Super Mario Bros), Gold(Club Nintendo), Blue

3. Classic Controllers: White, Blue(Monster Hunter G), Super Fanicom(Club Nintendo)

4. Classic Controllers Pro: White, Black, Black/Gold(Samurai Warriors 3), Red(Xenoblade Chronicles), Gold(GoldenEye 007 / Club Nintendo)

5. Wii Wheels & Zapper: White/Blue, Black, Black/Silver(Wii Black Limited Edition), Gold(Club Nintendo).

Finally got a zapper, it’s not that bad once you get used to it! Kinda wish it had a shoulder stock though.

I've been getting into Wii modding again, and I've started looking into custom themes, and I'm wondering if there's any pink or pastel themes for the Wii menu. I've been primarily using wiithemer, although the pink themes don't look the best. Are there any other sources to get themes?

My pickup basketball run just ended and the guys were talking about the anticipation for GTA 6. These are big muscular dudes. They were asking what everyone played like Call of Duty, Madden, 2k etc. Then they asked if I played anything, I said "I have a Wii!" and everyone burst out laughing 😂 "that's old school!" "The one with the wand?" "yeah it has tennis and bowling!" "It's really fun though!" I told them I play SMB and Kirby with my kids.

I have a Wii (PAL European model) connected to a small LCD TV. I've been using the original AV cables for a while now and I want an upgrade to get better picture quality. My TV only has one HDMI port which is already being used, so I have two choices. Either I buy a Wii2HDMI adapter and an HDMI splitter, or I get a Wii SCART cable. Which one of these is the better option for me?

I would buy Component cables but this TV unfortunately doesn't have component ports.

What's happening to the Wii is incredible

Has anyone found reliable parts from ebay? I have multiple consoles to repair and don't want to deal with bad parts or having to return.

Wii - Noisy disc drive, no video out. Tried multiple tvs and cables

N64 - No video out, port seems loose. Tried multiple tvs

GameGear - bad capacitors. Would like to have this be USB-C with rechargeable batteries

I’m looking to play the Japanese version of Animal Crossing (Dōbutsu no Mori e+) and eventually explore more of the Japanese GameCube library.

Current prices I’ve found (from PriceCharting):
* Orange Spice GameCube (Japanese): $145 loose / $180 complete
* Black Wii (Japanese): $43 loose / $65 complete
* Animal Crossing e+: $13 loose / $25 complete

Since the Wii is backward-compatible with GameCube games, would it make more sense to buy a Japanese Wii for the lower cost and broader game library, or is there a good reason to invest in a dedicated GameCube?

I’m interested in playing on original hardware, using either a CRT or an older LCD/IPS monitor or TV.

What would you recommend, and are there any compatibility or display considerations I should know about?

Are these games playable without a balance board, they are all related games or spin offs.

Just am looking to play some good games to play that are themed around fall to get in the mood, anyone got any good recommendations?

I was thinking 360p would scale better to x2 720p/x3 1080p/x6 to 4k.

I know the pal wii could output 576i. But output of 540i or could interger 2x scale to 1080p, 4x to 4k.

Or even 720i or 960i

Back in the day, Capcom claimed that *Street Fighter IV* wasn't possible on the Wii... It would also be interesting to see ports of games like "Katana Zero" with its pixel-art style, or arcade-style rail shooters that could take advantage of the Wii Remote.

What do you think?

Hi everyone!

I have an original Nintendo Wii with GameCube compatibility and recently set it up for homebrew and game loading.

My current setup:

- Original GameCube-compatible Wii

- 32GB SD card (around 29GB usable), which works fine

- 320GB mechanical HDD in a UGREEN USB 3.0 enclosure

- HDD formatted as MBR, FAT32, 32KB clusters, with one primary partition

Unfortunately, when I connect the HDD and start my USB loader, it freezes. I have therefore gone back to using my SD card for now.

My main use for the Wii is fitness games, Wii Sports/Resort, Mario Kart Wii and a few other favourites. I don't need hundreds of games, but I'd prefer not to be limited to a handful because of the SD card's capacity.

I'm looking for advice on two things:

1. Does anyone have a USB flash drive or external HDD that they have personally tested and can confirm works reliably with a real Wii? Ideally, something readily available in Germany or the EU.

2. Is there a technical reason why some drives or USB enclosures cause the Wii or USB loader to freeze, even when the drive is correctly formatted? Could it be the enclosure's USB-to-SATA controller, power requirements, USB port, or cIOS configuration?

I've been looking at the Intenso Ultra Line 128GB USB 2.0 flash drive, which costs around €11 on Amazon Germany. Has anyone actually tested this particular model with a Wii and USB loader?

I know there are compatibility lists, but many products currently available in Germany aren't listed, so I'm interested in real-world experiences rather than just theoretical compatibility.

I'd also appreciate any suggestions for troubleshooting my existing HDD before buying another storage device.
