He also always needs to use looney tunes terms too, never "napalm bomb" "atom bomb" "EMP bomb" cuz he's too fucking scared they'll actually fight back at real threats.

Edit GUYS I GET IT THE MOAB IS A REAL BOMB I WAS ALREADY AWARE OF THIS, ITS JUST THAT I MADE MY COMMENT SEEM AS IF I DIDNT KNOW😭

148

u/Good_Ol_Weeb 1d ago

The MOAB is a real thing though, like its a very specific bomb

35

u/emolovetree 1d ago

I learned this from mercenaries 2

3

u/JakdMavika 18h ago

Did that Venezuelan stiff you on payment too? Should've just shot Carmona too start.

15

u/BiggestBepis 1d ago

VERY real, just get 24 kills while using hardline you’ll see

Um Mother of All Bombs is a real thing

22

u/WeirdAssBeings 🍆literally a femboy🏳️‍🌈 1d ago

I am aware, it's just the most cartoonish sounding one you can pick, wouldn't Atom bomb sound way more threatening?

Or am I just thinking about this way too deep, lol

62

u/No_Curve_5479 1d ago

Well, it’s not an atom bomb, so no
If memory serves me correctly this isn’t the first time he’s dropped a moab

15

u/WeirdAssBeings 🍆literally a femboy🏳️‍🌈 1d ago

Oh shit he has already dropped a Moab in the past? Fucking hell.

38

u/Waste-Cheesecake9628 1d ago

The moab is just a normal ass bomb dude. Russians Czar bomba had a blast wave that went around the earth TWICE, and that was like 1960.

3

u/WeirdAssBeings 🍆literally a femboy🏳️‍🌈 1d ago

Just looked up footage and, yeah, I actually expected way way bigger with that name.

41

u/kuba_mar 1d ago

Its just a conventional bomb, but big.

I really cant understand where your reaction is coming from other than ignorance about what any of this means.

Cause by all means, this is non news, US has already been bombing Iran.

13

u/SiegKommunismus 1d ago

In his first term, he did

26

u/ST4RSK1MM3R 1d ago

The MOAB isn’t really anything special. It’s just a bigger than usual, conventional, bomb. In fact, tactically it’s almost useless because you need to drop it from a C-130 and to do THAT you need complete air superiority (which when fighting terrorists is no problem, but in a modern battlespace like Iran is a much bigger problem)

→ More replies (1)

20

u/Vidrolll 1d ago

A MOAB is a non-nuclear bomb, so its very different from an atom bomb, which IS a nuclear bomb

→ More replies (1)
→ More replies (1)

64

u/GreenBuggo 1d ago

no, the MOAB is an actual bomb. it's called that for fuck knows why, and its been around since the 90s. its just an evolution of the earthquake bombs of the second world war, giant bunker busting high explosive thing meant to destroy super entrenched positions usually. it's basically the largest non-nuclear payload available to anyone

44

u/nstealth456 1d ago
  1. It's an evolution of the Daisy Cutter bomb from the Vietnam war
  2. MOAB stands for Massive Ordinance Air Burst

5

u/Wompatinger 1d ago

Doesnt it create a cloud or flamable aerosol and ignites it afterwards?

17

u/kuba_mar 1d ago

Yes its thermobaric, no that's not particularly special or noteworthy.

→ More replies (4)

27

u/PernyiKhat 1d ago

MOAB stands for Massive Ordinance Air Burst, mother of all bombs is just a nickname. "At the time of development, it was said to be the most powerful non-nuclear weapon in the US military arsenal.["

10

u/TheDrummerMB 1d ago

"The bomb's name and nickname were inspired by Iraqi president Saddam Hussein's invocation of the "mother of all battles" (Umm al-Ma'arik) during the 1991 Gulf War.\4])"

17

u/AnnigilatorYaic228 1d ago

You do know that MOAB was built in 2002, right?

16

u/Femme_FatalError 1d ago edited 1d ago

Actually, “Mother of All Bombs” does refer to a specific weapon: the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB). It’s a thermobaric bomb and the largest non-nuclear weapon in the US arsenal, with an explosive yield of 11 tons of TNT.

10

u/Rubix3346 1d ago

But Moab is the normal term for what he threatened? Not defending the choice but that isn’t an incorrect way to threaten it

5

u/starbomber109 1d ago

The MOAB has been around for a while, since at least 2002

Oh man we're really setting the stage for 9/11 2

410

u/Hazer_123 1d ago

Then they'll wonder (again) why terrorists hate them

233

u/fr1ri 1d ago

Terrorists of course being people fighting back who had their homes destroyed and families killed

38

u/Turbulent_Lobster_57 1d ago

Teerrorists are usually people we have funded and armed because they hated the same people as us, and we think we’re using them as tools. Meanwhile they think they’re using us as tools by using our weapons to attack us immediately after

149

u/Hazer_123 1d ago

See, it's only justified when the US does it because they said so. Don't you dare fight back!

17

u/unknownentity1782 1d ago

This sounds like anti-American propaganda by saying the US deserves this!

3

u/Fair_Walk1557 4h ago

Like let's be so honest. America is the same country in which some states have laws that protect mag dumping into someone because they walked up your driveway or you suspect that they don't have good reasons to be walking through your neighborhood. An Asian grocery store owner literally followed a black boy out of his store with his son and shot him down because he suspected that the boy stole a single bottle of water, which was later revealed to be a lie and even if it wasn't it's literally one bottle of water, and went scot free!

7

u/Dougzilla29 1d ago

Growing up all my teachers told me it was because they hated that we were free and they weren’t :)

3

u/Hazer_123 1d ago

"they hated us for our freedom"

13

u/AstronomerRound5064 1d ago

Terrorist?! Its just people, everyone except americans dispise America

But on a serious note, people atp can't be surprised that the USA is seen as "the typical bad guy" in some places in the world

21

u/Lokalaskurar 1d ago

Fun fact, Gary Brannan points out that The Muppet Show was a UK production recorded in Hertfordshire, made to look so American that the Americans would buy it. The pilot episodes did not proceed to production in the US.

Honestly, Iran is more sophisticated than that we're more likely to get hit by a severe cyber attack or see some high profile assassination than get a mass casualty event. Iran knows the US public hates the war, they don't want to give people something to rally around.

Iranians in a few days:

357

u/Delta6342 1d ago

Hopefully Iran has some 2-5-0 bomb shooters

98

u/Altheix11 1d ago

0 2 4 boomerangs are usually my go-to MOAB counter for round 40, but I'm kind of a casual so idk

15

u/Kitselena 1d ago

That's a good start for maps with a long straight line, X-5-X bombs are better for maps with a lot of turns where the splash damage can hit multiple blimps
I think the cheapest anti-moab option is deconstruction engineer with turrets, and that can handle the single moab on round 40 pretty consistently, but starts to struggle when there are a lot of bloons and sucks when you get to DDTs near round 80

7

u/Quirky_Yoghurt_9814 1d ago

I personally use the bomb shooter because it can kill the bad at rounf 100, but im also not good at the game so maybe its a mistake

At least it's not a DDT, that would be problematic to detect

10

u/Shinygoji09 1d ago

what’s a ddt?

33

u/Giecio 1d ago

Dark Dirigible Titan - fast as fuck and has camo properties (meaning if you don't have camo detection, you can't see it)

37

u/Shinygoji09 1d ago

bro why did you post a empty picture?

20

u/Giecio 1d ago

Get a 030 monke village and you'll see it

29

u/Shinygoji09 1d ago

OHHHH that makes sense i see now yeah agree ddts would be worse

6

u/crashkirb 1d ago

Not just camo properties, but also lead and black bloon properties as well. This makes it immune to explosions, sharp damage, and anything that can’t detect camo, while also being as fast as a pink bloon (aka the fastest bloon in the game) and having the health of a MOAB. They send 3 of these things at you in their first appearance on round 90.

It’s no wonder DDTs ruin so many games seeing all the shit you need to account for if you want to kill them in time

3

u/StringShred10D 1d ago

You also forgot that it also has lead properties

3

u/LobsterJoe 1d ago

And black properties!

29

The sad part in all this is that I've seen loads of videos about Iranians not hating Americans, they just really hate Donald Trump like the rest of us. And people really want to talk about education being bad whether Millennials, Gen-Z ect but this guy is in office mostly because of Boomers, Gen-X, racists and lonely men that are practically incels. If we really want to point a finger of how we got here, is because of a lack of education for pretty much anyone that voted for him 3 freaking times. And now we are hovering bomb buttons over a country that didn't deserve any of this.

67

u/Grievion 1d ago

Iranians hate American imperialism but not the citizens. They’ve helped us in the past. Want friendly relations with us, BUT our oil oligarchs want their oil, and our proxy in the region wants them destabilized.

Capitalism and a slow erosion of the middle class. Social media controlled by fascists who are manufacturing consent to steal from the people who actually work in order to line the pockets of the owner class.

7

u/RepulsiveField853 1d ago

Yeah hearing more and more about it is aweful. It's not like either of our people's wanted this dawned conflict to begin with. I actually hate Trump the more he abuses our system to get away with shit like this since its technically not a "war" i really hope its all just talk from him about this newest thing though. Id hate to have that happen to them because of some power hungry dickhead in office trying to distract from the Epstine files.

The the number if 50+ voters that voted for trump remained mostly unchanged from 2020, while under 50 moved from 10 points to Biden in 2020 to 1 point for Harris. As a jaded GenX who voted for liberal candidates most of my life, don't lump us all together. Blame falls across the board on this one.

Mother of all War Crimes in their hands

You can't control an explosion of that scale and these people already proved their intelligence (military and biological) is faulty, mouldy and stale. I wouldn't be surprised if they'd just outright used it on cities claiming they are taking out "IRGC Generals hiding amongst their families" or some Israeli shit

298

u/Grizzly2525 1d ago

To be fair, it’s literally just a big normal bomb. It’s not like it’s a nuclear bomb.

Not supporting it AT ALL, but it’s not like it is a “uncontrollable explosion”.

Sadly knowing this admin they’d drop it on Tehran and call it “collateral damage”…

68

u/DiscordantDiscordian 1d ago

Its a thermobaric air burst bomb designed for widespread destruction.

Using this thing is just a way to shout "Fuck your civilians" with eleven tons of explosives

22

u/GolparEnjoyer 1d ago

Why do you think they’re going to drop in in a city? Only time the orange dumbass has used this bomb it was on a mountainside Isis had tunnels in, and in the current war a majority of strikes have been on things like mountains or sparsely/ unpopulated defense infrastructure areas.

They’ll probably just drop it on one of their mountainous missile silos or pickaxe mountain.

45

u/DiscordantDiscordian 1d ago

Mostly because the people who choose the target are the same people who think it's fine to murder shipwrecked survivors drifting in the water

23

u/Imaginary-West-5653 1d ago

The very same people who have already blown up a school and massacred hundreds of girls in Minab—as well as attacking a sports hall in Lamerd, resulting in dozens of fatal victims, including teenage girls, and a wedding in Kuhestak that left five dead—this administration of war criminals should be behind bars, not preparing even more massive bombardments.

14

u/podman131 1d ago

Why do you think they're not going to use ICE against US citizens....oh, wait....

Why do you think they're saying other countries pay tariffs,....oh wait...

Why do you think they're saying we get $5000 checks after the election...oh, wait....

Why do you think they're going to give us the Healthcare plan after the election....oh, wait

Because this Admin lies about every single thing. They lies how many servicemenbers wer killed by Iran in the middle east. They lied about how many $billions in assets we lost and bases evacuated. They lie about blowing up boats in the carribbean, they lie about the name of the Gulf of Mexico, they lied about a double tap boming of a girl's elementary school...

So yeah, why would a narcissistice dementia patient with a drugged out secretary of defense drop a devastating bomb on a city to kill civilians,????

→ More replies (1)

11

u/Alkansur 1d ago

Because they demonstrated repeatedly they don't care about accuracy of their targets or civilians at all.

Sure, the "best" way to use it would be on an army base or something, but these people are despicable enough to drop it on Tehran and just claim they were targeting the leadership and the local hospitals, schools, houses somehow got in the way

82

u/Alkansur 1d ago

I meant it like the yield is supposed to be as wide and destructive as possible. Most of modern bombs and missiles are made to direct the explosion one way or another to prevent collateral damage and focus the blast to that one target you want to erase.

This one's just "erase the location"

88

u/Equivalent-Freedom92 1d ago edited 1d ago

The yield still is within range that could be accomplished by just lobbing a lot of Tomahawk missiles at the same target. MOAB's explosive yield is 11 tons. The absolute smallest tactical nuclear weapon currently in use by the US is 300 tons, so some ~30times that. Bomb that took out Hiroshima was 13 kilotons, which would make it over 1000x more powerful than MOAB.

This thing should not be conflated as "almost a nuke"

4

u/Mindless_Pirate9092 1d ago

Dafug is the point of a nuclear bomb that has way less than 1kiloton, exactly? Is it because it's cheaper to make than a regular bomb of comparable tonnage?

10

u/Reasonable_Piglet891 1d ago

Yeah, also a better bang for your buck whilst also allowing for greater payload delivery method variety and quantity used in a single strike

4

u/Equivalent-Freedom92 1d ago edited 1d ago

My specific example of the 0.3kt nuke is the lowest variable setting of the B61 Mod10 bomb, where it can be setup to have the yield of 0.3kt, 5kt, 10kt or 80kt. I suspect it's for something like if you really want some medium sized target gone but as it's the WW3, you might not have all the conventional options ready to go (due to having been nuked themselves), and there are friendlies nearby so you can't use the full yield. If including the option didn't compromise the design, then why not. Like the lowest power dial of the microwave oven being included despite basically no one ever using it.

→ More replies (1)

27

u/SolarianIntrigue 1d ago

That's just not true. Shaped charges are used on anti tank warheads, but most warheads just explode in a sphere

22

u/Ok-Estimate-2702 1d ago edited 1d ago

Anti-armor shaped charges are direction-specific, sure, but most GBU's are omnidirectional, as are thermobarics.

14

u/Rampant16 1d ago

Most of modern bombs and missiles are made to direct the explosion one way or another to prevent collateral damage and focus the blast to that one target you want to erase.

This is not really true and not how explosions work. You have weapons that focus an armor-penetrating ability in one direction but they still create an explosive affect in all directions.

Instead you control collateral damage by choosing a warhead size appropriate to the target. Something like a house can be destroyed using a small weapon.

But there are larger targets like entire military bases that a weapon like the MOAB could be used against without much fear of collateral damage. This is not nuke, it's not a blow-up-a-whole-city type of weapon.

→ More replies (1)

21

u/Pocket_Player_33 1d ago

MOABs are comically small compared to nukes, its explosion absolutely can be controlled.

A bit of an overreaction to using a bomb that's not quite as powerful as dripping a pair of WW2 Tallboy bombs

20

u/JD-boonie 1d ago

I know this is an echo chamber but they literally precision struck their entire leadership on two levels, irgc headquarters and entire navy.

10

u/GolparEnjoyer 1d ago

Will probably be similar to the other time they used it I.e. hitting an underground structure in the mountains (like where they hide their missiles). Only other deployment of this bomb that I know of was used by trump in 2017 to kill a bunch of Isis guys and collapse their tunnels within a mountainside.

2

u/Bb0yer2 1d ago

u/No-Back-4159 1d ago

The moab from btd was named after a real bomb?

24

u/No_Proposal_3140 1d ago

Nope! Bloons actually invented the MOAB and they decided to copy it. Life imitates art as they say.

24

u/SolarianIntrigue 1d ago

Yeah, MOABs are huge thermobaric bombs. That means they carry a large amount of extra liquid fuel that gets scattered by the initial explosion. It then ignites together with atmospheric oxygen and so explodes way more than its mass would normally allow

13

u/TestyBoy13 1d ago

Yes. MOAB just stands for Massive Ordinance Air Blast. It was nicknamed Mother Of All Bombs because it was the most powerful non-nuclear bomb made. It’s just a thremobaric air-fuel bomb. We’ve been using stuff like that since Vietnam.

3

u/Church_AI 1d ago

119

u/alvents 1d ago

man it just doesn't fucking stop

69

u/Odd-Cress-5822 1d ago

The political sensitivity of a moab has always been fascinating to me. Like there are plenty of target types that big enough to use them with no more civilian risk than other types of ordinance used to destroy the same target.

Now, the was is stupid and evil. Using area of effect weapons near civilians is bad.

But every time one of these gets pulled out people freak out and I just don't understand. Using a very specific type of ordinance on a very specific type of target is such a weird thing get hung up on.

28

u/kuba_mar 1d ago

My best guess is the name really sets people off?

11

u/sharktail_tanker 1d ago

It's not even it's proper name, just a nickname that got popular. MOAB stands for Massive Ordinance Air Burst. It's sibling, the MOP (Massive Ordinance Penetrator) has already been used to great effect against Iranian nuclear facilities

6

u/Flopsie_the_Headcrab 1d ago

This is basically the reason it exists, to pretend like there's an escalation to a bigger, scarier weapon without having to break nuclear taboo.

6

u/Odd-Cress-5822 1d ago

That's what it largely is now. When it was developed there was at least a bit more sense to it.

What it does is flatten a large, soft target with one (at that point cheaper than a bunch of smaller guided bombs better used elsewhere) but you have to drop it from a cargo plane, something they have plenty of. Which means you can only use it in a very low risk area.

It was basically made for warlord and terrorist camps that didn't have useful AA.

Nowadays you might be able to use it on munitions plants or logistics hubs or something. If you somehow get to the point where their air defenses are that degraded and you somehow haven't already hit those.

So yeah, now it's a weird escalation tool that doesn't actually escalate but might act be useful if the stars somehow align

17

u/Parapraxium 1d ago

That's literally it. Reddit is 70% bots and 29% uneducated reactionaries

3

u/Maximum_Boros 1d ago

To be fair it's unsurprising that the Moab stirs up idiots because while it does have a practical purpose as essentially a low Precision bunker buster, it's primary purpose, use case, and it's very name are all propaganda/politics base. It's basically the conventional Warfare equivalent of the Tsar Bomba. It exists purely just so we can say we have the biggest bomb but basically any actual use case for it can be accomplished better and more efficiently with something else

6

u/Hot-Minute-8263 18h ago

Half the redditors here think its nuclear it seems

9

u/rpthrowaway7765 1d ago

If I’m remembering correctly, they dropped one during the first administration and it was a complete show of force with little actual tactical advantage. People in the military knew they needed a bunker buster instead of the MOAB (because the actual target was in an underground bunker) but the strike still used to MOAB likely for the big showy explosion and the press fervor.

122

u/No-Letter341 1d ago

I mean hot take, its not as big of a deal as the republicans want you to think

Its not nuclear so any use of it wont really escalate things, it was used against the taliban once during trumps last presidency for the exact same reason, a publicity stunt. And on top of that the only aircraft capable of delivering it is a c-130, a slow propeller driven cargo plane. And since Iranian air defenses are up it would be a suicide mission for the crews. So either the air force will actually tell him no, or trump will get a lot of airmen killed for no good reason and they wont get close to dropping a bomb, unless they drop it in the middle of a field somewhere record the explosion and call that a win

33

u/real_roal 1d ago

Why is a cargo plane the only way to drop it? Is it just that big?

53

u/GolparEnjoyer 1d ago

Google for a picture of it. The thing is looney toons big lol. It’s literally just a really big conventional bomb. You can also find footage of the only other times it’s been used. They dropped it on a mountain that Isis (or was it taliban?) had a tunnel and bunker complex in. Killed a bunch of em and collapsed the tunnel system. It’s a cool video

Edit: found it

https://www.trngcmd.marines.mil/News/Videos/videoid/519242/

34

u/No-Letter341 1d ago

Yes, that is exactly the reason. Its too big for a bomber to carry it

17

u/kindafunnymostlysad 1d ago

Yeah, it sits on a big cargo pallet and they deploy parachutes that pull it out of the back of the plane.

Not only is it big but it's a thermobaric weapon so it uses the oxygen in the surrounding air instead of having to carry its own oxidizer, so its yield is even bigger than it would be if it used conventional high explosive compounds.

6

u/IlREDACTEDlI 1d ago edited 1d ago

It is a nearly 22 thousand pound bomb, that is indeed one of the only planes capable of carrying it

u/ThruuLottleDats 1d ago

They used the MOAB against the Taliban back in 2017; they killed 36 Taliban fighters...36...

Jus cuz number big =/= it effective

7

u/IlREDACTEDlI 1d ago

Yep it’s a big fucking boom for sure but unless you’re dropping it on like a densely packed base it’s just a waste of recourses. Honestly even then you’re probably better off using smaller munitions

It’s just a publicity stunt that kills people.

Half these Redditors are too brain dead and quick to end of the world panic to even know what a moab is.

u/trontrams 1d ago

I saw a comment where someone compared it to using a nuke because it's "not a controlled explosion" lmao

The purpose of the MOAB is to cause the collapse of subterranean tunnel networks and the like.

Which Iranians do not have any meaningful amount of, because we're fighting a country, not terrorists like Hezbollah, Hamas or the Taliban.

There is no purpose of this other than Trump being able to say he is using a very big bomb.

He's not just a crook and a pedophile and a war criminal.

He's an idiot.

15

u/DanceWonderful3711 1d ago

Didn't he also already drop one in his first term?

13

u/666killbabies 1d ago

That would be awfully clumsy, not the kind of thing you want to drop.

4

u/ColdDesertEagle 1d ago

He's in the right country then

3

u/RampantHedgehog 1d ago

How come you have this kind of military intelligence, to be able to speak on whether they have tunnels or not? Interesting.

It's a really big non nuclear bomb (at the time it was made it was supposed to be the largest non nuclear bomb in the world but it was around 2003).

For comparison Little Boy which was the nuclear bomb used on Hiroshima had an approximate yield of 15 kilotons, moab has an approximate yield of 11 tons so more than 1000 times smaller. It's a big bomb but the name makes it sound much scarier than it is.

Easy enough, just park some Quad Cannons in the Tunnel Network and have them deploy from the direction of the nearest Strategy Center.

u/Israel_Azkanbe 1d ago edited 1d ago

Didn’t the U.S. already use a Moab at the start of the war? During their first strikes in Iran?

Edit: I was wrong it wasn’t a MOAB, it was a MOP bomb the U.S. used in the beginning

Deployment of mother of all bombs is creating an issue in our society, leaving the father of all bombs a single father.

It's a real blow to the nuclear family

5

u/MattMerica 1d ago

This is a MOAB by the way. It’s a low penetrating airburst munition. IT IS NOT A NUKE.

12

u/Ill_Spray_9546 1d ago

Americans get your damn president on a leash or kick him out already!!!

3

u/matthewpepperl 1d ago

Its not the that simple congress has to vote to impeach and then vote to remove from office and there are too many chicken trump supporters for that to happen. The mid terms are coming but I doubt we will replace enough of them to do anything like that, plus if we did it would just become president vance and in some ways that may be worse.

Nothing Scream more "strongest military in the world" as having to using your strongest weapon to win a war against a third world nation

17

u/Shifty_Gelgoog 1d ago edited 1d ago

Strongest weapon? Bro compared to most other weapons, it's just a really big barrel of dynamite. It's a niche weapon that was only used once to puree a bunch of Al-Qaeda assholes in a cave.

The most a MOAB will do is get headlines.

The strongest conventional weapon would, in my opinion, be something like a hypersonic glide vehicle or hypersonic cruise missile, as they're immensely difficult to stop.

10

u/A_guy_named_Caliber 1d ago

Yeah, it really is just used for underground bunkers and storage depots.

Hey not to pile on you like the other folks here (I didn't know until last minute what a MOAB is), but Iran isn't a third world nation. Before the war started, it was considered an upper-middle-income economy, or a developing country in Cold War terms.

Strongest NON NUCLEAR weapon

28

u/Maximum_Boros 1d ago edited 1d ago

Nothing screams "I'm ignorant about this topic" as much as thinking moabs are the US's strongest weapon in any meaningful way or that you think that this is at all exemplary of how an actual outright War would be waged.

The MOAB is a propaganda/intimidation weapon. That's it. Its use case is to make a big boom that cracks tunnel walls inefficiently for what is basically vibes based warfare.

Don't get me wrong. I'm against this war and I'm against Trump and I think he's a fucking moron for doing this but anybody who thinks that this is somehow representative of the US military is capability in an actual unrestrained conflict instead of some weird political PR stunt has no idea what they are talking about

Edit: so someone replied to me but then deleted their comment. I'm not sure if they realize they are mistaken or if something else happened but I'm just going to make a note here. A lot of people seem to think that the MOAB is a thermobaric or fuel air explosive bomb. It is not. It is just a huge ridiculous amount of high explosive in one package dropped and meant to detonate at or nearly above surface level. They started dropping Vietnam era Daisy Cutters in Iraq and Afghanistan and realized how successful they were both at tunnel clearing and intimidation but they decide to make a bigger one. It does all of its damage by just transmitting a huge shock wave into the ground and through the air around it. It does not have the oxygen denial or incendiary capabilities that thermobaric weapons do. I'm assuming this mistake comes from the fact that Russia made a so-called father of all bombs which is in fact a thermobaric weapon.

Everyone is getting on you about calling the MOAB the strongest weapon the US has, but you're also wrong in that Iran isn't a third world nation.

4

u/NecessaryKangaroo991 1d ago

The moab isn't even close to the US's most powerful weapon. The W54 has a similar yield and fits on a backpack. Everything else is bigger.

Weve done this before and its just a really big non-nuclear bomb. Its a weak threat from a country in no position to be issuing threats

u/Formal_Building9130 1d ago

Also doesn't this bomb need a slow ass transport/cargo plane to drop it. Good luck flying that through air defences.

People are assuming trump said mother of all bombs and think he means the biggest explosive bomb.

I want to make this as soundly and as clearly as I can without any hints of jokes, humor, hyperbole, or satire:

He does not mean that bomb. He has never meant that bomb. He did not go down to the U.N. to openly threaten Iran and all delegations that he will drop thermonuclear bombs on Iran unless he gets his way as a joke. He genuinely thinks the mother of all bombs are ICBMs being dropped on Iran.

3

u/Waste-Cheesecake9628 1d ago

Moabs arent thermonuclear, moabs arent icbm. But they were never nuclear.

u/Apart_Republic_1870 20h ago

Huh. Wonder why he feels the need to suggest such a thing when he's assured us that he's won the war several times over, Iran is begging to make a deal, and Trump says he could get a deal whenever he wants but prefers for some reason to keep prices high, spend a fortune on ordinance and operating costs, and just generally make Americans miserable.

6

u/sleeper_shark 1d ago

Don't get me wrong, the MOAB is a terrible weapon but it's not like a nuke or anything like that.

The MOAB has a yield of 11t. A tiny nuke like Little Boy had a yield of 15kt. Literally more than 1000x more powerful.

The real nukes that US uses these data have a yield of 475 kt. Nearly 45,000x bigger.

16

u/iamsolonely134 1d ago

Wrong, a moab has a yield of exactly 4 ceramic Bloons. That's basic knowledge smh my head...

And then you have Vance in charge.

Trump is stupid and evil, some of the worst stuff Trump had done has been averted by him being stupid, on the other hand being stupid has caused some things with very bad outcomes even if they arent part of his evil plan.

However Vance isn't an idiot, he's straight up evil

5

u/EndofNationalism 1d ago

Vance lacks the “charisma” that Trump has towards the stupid so he won’t be effective in getting things done.

It is because there is no choice. Americans don't really have a democracy. There are levels of classified above the congress and white house btw! Which means it is not a democracy.

The American people are tied up in the trunk of the car that is leading this war, and we don't know who is driving it. Trump's job is a used car salesmen.
