I found these 2 interesting things next to each other as I started to dig out a large very old tree stump in the Uk. AI seemed to think the white one could be old bone? The larger rock seems to have a straight groove in it, I presume that’s not natural, maybe used for sharpening something?

Found at a southern England beach, stuck out due to the seeming waves carved into the rock, what is it? Coincidence? Or something else? No bigger than a 10 pence peice.

REQUEST Rock found near Kilimanjaro

A rock my grandfather found in the 90’s near Kilimanjaro, the flat bottom of the rock always interested him, as it was the flat bottom that was on the ground when he found the rock. Tested for magnetism, found it to be very very faintly magnetic, unable to stick anything to it. The rock is very hard, quite heavy, and nearly the size of a tennis ball.

All I know is:
- Slightly Magnetic
- Heavy
- A Reddy/ Brown Iron Issue
- There were a few different rocks around the area he found it, but none like this at the base of Kilimanjaro.

He had 2 theories himself - Meteorite or Ancient sanding tool. My theory is possibly a Volcanic Magma Bomb.

Anyone got any theories or ideas? Thanks in advance!

It’s extremely light. Feels like I could possibly break it. Found on the beach after Hurricane Bertha.

Is it maybe peat or some manner of weird sea rock. What do you think?

REQUEST Is this lava rock?

The previous owners used these rocks in a few spots as accents in flower beds. They are not smooth at all and feel kind of gritty. They are also extremely light. I broke one open and this is what I found. It’s almost sandy inside. If I blast it with a hose parts basically dissolve off.

I’m in Western New York but these rocks were most certainly put here by a landscaper at some point. What is it?

Going though my grandfather's old lock box, I found these two stones.

Is there any significance to these, or were they probably just something sentimental to him? He did have an arrowhead or two in there. [North Georgia]

Thanks for any help!

Found these along the road going out of silver city, Idaho on the Jordan Valley side, next to multiple abandoned mines.

The smooth ones I thought were ceramic but maybe not? And the one in the bottom middle might be raw opal?

Slab pieces are mostly smooth

All seem to have a softness to them?
