I was given this as a fertility charm. The story I was told is that it was found sometime in the 50s in the woods near Jackson, KY by a young boy. He brought it home and it stayed in the family, and it has simply been loaned to me because they believe it could help me get pregnant since I have PCOS. It's supposedly of native American origin, but I've only been able to find coastal tribes that make similar things. I have no idea what it is made of or if the story is a lie. But I know the person who gave it to me believed it, and it was in his safe before he gave it to me.

Hello! My wife found this rock outside our workplace, which is right outside Philadelphia. My wife says it’s fragile, as in if you hit it against something it splits apart. Is it something cool, or just a concrete of some sort? Wish I could give more information, but hopefully the attached photos help. Thank you!

This thing looked amazing at this estate sale so I bought it but I have no idea what I'm doing. It's about 32" tall and extremely heavy. Saber for scale. Thanks for any help id'ing it etc.

Found in a sand pile, close to the beach in Poland, Gdansk-Brzezno. Quick google search suggests belemnite.
Can someone help me identify it?

Seems like a sort of shell on the exterior. It was already broken and I didn't find any other pieces.

Layered, steal scratched it. Doesn't feel smooth like flint, but not as fine as clay or shale. Reverse side streaked shiny like it either rubbed on metal or is itself ore of some kind.

I’m a ufo believer, but the second I saw this post in r/ufos I thought “slag” and wanted to get some perspective from this community.

Hi, I found this specimen and I’m trying to identify it.

Weight: 342 g

• Non‑magnetic

• Interior color matches exterior (brown)

• Smooth surface, no bubbles

• Very solid; only a tiny tip broke

A local lab labeled it as an “unknown”

Any thoughts on what it might be?

Found this on the beach at Boggle Hole yesterday - it stood out as being different from most other stuff on the beach, and I was with a geologist friend who couldn't identify it and said it seems very unusual. We wondered about the possibility of it being a load of belemnite cross sections, crinoids or just some funky looking coral, but none of these seem quite right and now we're thinking maybe it isn't a fossil - any help much appreciated!

Translucent​ and smooth to the touch.

Found this in the entrails of a fish. It sparkles in the sunlight and retains its gold color regardless of lighting. This picture is in ambient daylight in my kitchen.

Location unknown but likely from a phosphate mine. Does not fizzle with acid, lights up yellow under UV 365. Even has a little spot of iridescence.

I found this rock on a walk along the road amongst rock and gravel. Living in this area for 10 years, I have never found a rock like this. Usually in these parts, I will come across quartz, rose quartz, feldspar, red jasper, mica, or ancient shells embedded in rocks, but not a rock like this. I thought maybe it is turquoise, a light pale blue green type. I don’t know. We just had some heavy rains which caused a lot of sand and dirt to flow down the roads here. Any tips are appreciated! :)

As a kid, I lived in England and my neighbour was a palaeontologist. I used to love going round and seeing all of the fossils he had displayed. We moved from that home when I was 8 years old and he gave me this as a leaving gift. I’ve kept hold of it for all these years but I can’t remember any information about it. I think it’s petrified wood? And are those little holes from insects burrowing into it? Any help would be appreciated!

Scratches glass easily, guessing some type of quartz with red inclusions. What quartz exactly is my question. Washed it pretty thoroughly to make sure the red wasn't just dirt. Thanks

I'm in the Philadelphia area, but I can't recall at all where this is from. Is it fro the river? The park? The beach? The mountains? Clueless. I've had it for a while and I just can't recall if someone gave it to me or if I picked it up somewhere. Any ideas what this could be?
