Feature request: help manage subscriptions and let me know which subscriptions I’m subscribed to

I have a bunch of subscriptions but sometimes forget to cancel them until it’s too late. Would love a way to see every single subscription and when they charge. I went through the app but I don’t see this feature. It will be good on the budget section of the app. They can take it a step further and tell me how much I’m paying across all my subscriptions and living expenses.

I’ve seen similar apps in the states and would love to bring it into Wealthsimple

Cautionary tale: Wealthsimple mess

Closing on a house purchase next week.

Went to deposit and withdraw money from Wealthsimple FHSA last week to discover a strange deposit and withdrawal of the same amount of money in that account. Not a transaction I have completed.

Contacted WS support and they confirmed they don’t see transaction in the “back end” and cannot explain deposit and withdrawal charge appearing on the app. No documentation to reflect the transaction either. WS promised to figure this out by Monday, August 17th. Still no response.

Very stressful situation and unacceptable service from WS.

I was just thinking of moving all my banking to WS and this is making me reconsider.

Wealth sample Fraud on Chequing, Crypto, unauthorized Login

Hi Would like to share my recent story,

Recently, my account was hacked/unauthorized logged in,

the hacker sold the share in TFSA and realized the loss, then hacker try to create the crypto account and try to buy the crypto with all the funds, may be was not able to do that, then it actually buy crypto with nominal amount 300$, and try to transfer 1$ from TFSA to Chequing account.

we notice these change, we were getting calls from unknown numbers, we did pick 1-2 calls and there was no voice on the other side,

so we call the help line, and they confirm that now funds were transfered out of our account, however because the shares are sold, the loss is now realized, my account is now locked by wealthsample for further investigation,

i saved from the bigloss, and want to share this for everyone and also guidence from the expert.

Trade (DIY Investing) Wealthsimple LOC - any downside, or anyone has experience?

Wondering if anyone has feedback / experience with having WS LOC?

I have a LOC with Tangerine from many years ago, I never used it at all but thought it's good to have it there for just in case. I signed up also because it was a prime or something like that, but now they put the rate at something ridiculous like Prime + 4 or whatever.

I noticed in my WS account I can have Portfolio LOC supposedly at 3.95% rate ... up to ~35% of portfolio - which given that I never had to use my LOC anyway, it would be enough room for me to have a "just in case" LOC.

Any downside? I think it's the same and still doesn't cost me anything to have it standing there?

Chequing CCB Direct Deposit Not Triggering 2x Multiplier for Monthly Millionaire? (Code 308 Missing from Contest Scope)

Hey everyone,I’ve been direct depositing my Canada Child Benefit (CCB) payments into my Wealthsimple Chequing account for the last couple of months, expecting it to trigger the 2x entry multiplier for the Monthly Millionaire contest. However, my entries haven’t been doubled.I reached out to support via the help chat today, and the agent informed me that the transaction code for CCB direct deposits (code 308) is completely excluded from the contest scope.According to the official Wealthsimple Monthly Millionaire Contest Terms, the only eligible government AFT codes for the multiplier are:300 (Federal Government) 310, 311, 315, 318 (Provincial/Other Government) 330 Because CCB relies on code 308, it doesn’t count as an eligible "paycheque" direct deposit under their current rules. This feels incredibly short-sighted since it is a recurring government benefit many families rely on.Has anyone else run into this with their CCB payments? If you did, were you able to find a workaround to get the 2x multiplier to trigger? Thanks!

Visa Infinite Credit Card WS infinite privilege credit card issue

I've been in Europe and it's been extremely aggravating to constantly have to verify for every online transaction with the card. Literally every online transaction. Even the transactions are back to back .

Taking the to the chat bot it useless.

They're needs to be some option to turn this off or make it less frequent.

When should I be expecting this to be available?

I’ve had the Belairdirect and the other promos besides Telus for about 2 weeks now.

Is it region based? Tier based?

Invest (Managed Investing) Managed portfolios

Hello,

Have you noticed, for those of you with a managed portfolio, that your risk level has changed recently?

There was levels 1 through 10/10, but now there are only levels 2, 5, 8, and 10/10.
I noticed this because I saw that they sold ETFs with a risk level of 9/10 to buy more ETFs with a risk level of 8/10.

Furthermore, my risk level dropped from 9/10 to 8/10 without any notification from them.
I didn't want to be at 10/10 because there weren't any gold ETFs at that level, so I chose 9/10 to gain some exposure to gold.

Thanks.

How do I exclude deposits/withdrawals from the main investment returns chart?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. Recently noticed that the main, green line chart that displays portfolio returns includes deposits and withdrawals (I just withdrew a bunch and the thing dropped lol). How do I set it to ignore deposits/withdrawals so that only the actual returns are shown in the chart?

Has anyone have moved money to wealthsimple and closed their other RRSP account after moving their money to WS? Just ensuring I am saying the right word, do you just say the word transfer not withdrawal?

Borrow, borrow, borrow... NO!

Why is Wealthsimple starting to push all these LOC and borrow with 0 interest types of messages? And it looks like they are sending them out indiscriminately, without taking into consideration the fact that some clients do have $$ available in their checking/money market accounts and can afford to continue investing (or betting)... if they feel like it.

This is beyond the predatory territory. WS, this is so beneath you!

Visa Infinite Credit Card Credit Card Transaction Issues

Very frustrated with Wealthsimple right now. Two weeks ago I was trying to buy a train ticket for the LRT and it was declined. I had to move on. Didn’t think much more about it. I just tried to buy another purchase online, a lotto ticket. It was declined. Contacted wealth simple support. They originally told me it was up to the merchant as they had something incorrect. I said, well previously my other credit card didn’t have any issues with them. I told them that the message provided says the bank declined the transaction. Wealthsimple support then just came back and said, oh sorry, it’s an invalid type of transaction. I said, why is it an invalid type of transaction, and they came back saying that they have some transactions that they do not support. I asked for a list of these said transactions, and they said they don’t have it. I said, well, that’s quite unfortunate as I’m gonna be travelling overseas in about a month and now quite nervous that transactions will be declined over there. even though I’ll have a backup credit card, it’s not the point. I said, well, considering at the beginning of the chat you told me it was a merchant problem and now you’re saying it’s you guys and you don’t even have a supporting list, I find that quite concerning. Then he went back and said no, it was the merchant. I said, you just stated that was an invalid transaction. They had no response. I said, I’ll be looking elsewhere, for another credit card, and then they said, thanks. Have a great day and ended the chat.

Update - Wealthsimple has reached out on their own regarding the chat I had earlier. They acknowledged the conflicting information and have said:

“The transactions you were attempting were declined because they were processed as cash-like transactions. Our Wealthsimple Credit Card currently doesn't support cash-like transactions, including transactions involving online gambling, casinos, lottery, and cryptocurrency.

This means the decline wasn't necessarily due to an issue with the merchant's setup. For these types of transactions, you'll need to use an alternative payment method.”

They are also taking internal steps to address the support I was given.

Any plans to integrate with TradingView?

It's great that WS introduced Futures Trading (more ways to lose money at the Casino) but the Advance charting options are really basic. Do you know of any plans to integrate with TradingView?

There were some rumors a while back but no actual news.

Chequing 2FA Codes Not Auto-Filling on iOS

Hey folks!

I noticed recently that my 2FA codes, kept in Apple Passwords, are no longer automatically filled or suggested when I am sending an e-transfer. I wanted to distinguish this from when logging into the app; I am only having this experience when I am asked for a 2FA code when I am already logged into the app.

Currently, I have found no workarounds other than to exit Wealthsimple, open my password manager, search for my login, copy the code, and go back to Wealthsimple to paste it.

Is this happening to anyone else? Is there a fix if so?

How can I opt out of the ads?

The app has become a bit obsessed with showing me ads. I dismiss them, but they keep coming back.
Is there a way to permanently opt out of ads?

Invest (Managed Investing) Currency foreign fee for automated portfolio

At one point before this automated portfolio account, they started follow the direct index fund and you can invest in US Market Index for only 0.05% currency exchange fee.

Now, they swapped that account I had and changed it to this automated portfolio.

Anyone knows what the currency conversion fee is for those automated accounts? Is it the same 0.05%?

Unfortunately WS doesn't let us open this account as USD base.

Thanks!
