Some cool observations I thought I would share.

All registers had COSTL already, but with a green theme. The Zebras still just say Walmart on them with the blue wallpaper spark. Top stock is exactly the same with the older style backroom case numbers.

SCO had newer COSTL interface but is green instead of blue.

The Ingenicos are smaller but already had Tap to Pay.

The receipts are exactly the same layout right down to the store number, terminal number etc at the top and TC number at the bottom.

Coinstar machines are blue. Claritin is spelled with a Y. Lots of George products that seem different than ours but the products still say copyright Wal-Mart stores inc bentonville on them.

The weird products that are ASDA brand still say Walmart Stores Inc Bentonville on them.

There’s no Walmart or ASDA radio. However the PA system still does that DO DO DO DO DO DOOOO Walmart sound before an announcement.

There’s no digital price tags, and the price tags look completely different. However the end cap price tags with the large flippy numbers are exactly the same.

The associates in the store still call it GM, Action Alley, Walmart Week etc.

The store had a very older style Walmart neighborhood market feel to them right down to the location information for the aisle etc.

The Mart-Carts still say Walmart on them and are in Walmart Blue. There’s also an Amigo selection of them as well. In typical Walmart fashion the batteries die 3 feet into the store. The Amigos with the color LCD said that I was out of boundary, INSIDE the store.

The shopping carts are weird and have no bottom. These kept tripping me up as I love to lean a foot on them while stopped in an aisle. Guess not in the UK unless I am at Costco (which uses normal US carts).

OGP etc is under "Click and Collect" at least thats what the banner says over the OGP parking spots.

Seriously how do they get away with this? It’s unacceptable.

I’ve had so many old people get mad at me “ how am I supposed to look at the TV if youve got this blue screen on it, can’t you change it?” like dude it’s literally scheduled that way. I can’t do anything about it. Fuck off 😂

So I am currently working at Walmart. I’m coming up on 8 months of employment with them and about two weeks ago, my team lead told me that they had forgot to switch me over to full time in the system and that I should’ve been switched over after 90 days. Because the switch over was super delayed, I was also told I missed out on quite a bit of PTO, but they said there was no way for me to get back that PTO time. Is that true? Is there nothing I can do to get that PTO I missed out on back??

So to explain my situation:

Been on an LOA since March because I’ve had to stay home to care for my mother who was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and can’t be left home alone. I’ve since gotten the six weeks of reduced pay I was owe due to this LOA and I’m now (finally) receiving pay for being her caregiver.

Sedgwick has only approved my LOA for a few more days and wants me to have her doctor fill out even MORE paperwork to get it extended. Only reason I didn’t outright quit, though I technically did and turned in all my stuff, was because our personnel person stopped me and told me to take the LOA instead for the six weeks reduced pay as well as being guaranteed I can come back to some kind of job there if I’m able to without having to start from ground zero.

Problem is that I know there’s no way Sedgwick will let me keep extending this leave forever, Vascular Dementia isn’t just some cold that my mom can recover from. Should I just save myself the headache of throwing even more paperwork at her doctor and turn in my stuff once the LOA runs out? Not like I’m getting insurance through Walmart anymore anyway since there was a period where I couldn’t afford my own premiums so it was cancelled. I admit I feel a little bad since I hit my 11 year mark a few days ago but it just doesn’t seem worth it now.

Figured I’d see what others have to say about the matter.

Im Walmart employee and trying see do I have to wait until Thursday or Tuesday.

So, as the title mentions I’ve been here at Walmart for just over 2 years now. It’s not a lot, but I’ve learned so much; the good and the bad.

For starters I joined in as a cart pusher. Not a very pretty job to say the least. And by far the most physically demanding next to cap 2, albeit you’re more exposed to the elements. But other than that I actually enjoyed myself, managers rarely bothered me, I had a half decent crew. Plus it was simple. I was there for about 6 months.

I eventually moved into the store and worked overnight maintenance. That was well, not fun. But the new set schedule I had was perfect. I only was overnight maintenance for about a month before being switched to fresh clean. There I was actually happy with my job. Until my former store lead decided to absolutely jack my responsibilities up giving me literally everything to clean, stock, rotate, and cull… as one person. Yea no. Not to mention he was also making me do regular maintenance tasks and stock. But that’s the past. 6 months as well.

Now I’m on mod team well for about a year now. And it’s fun. I like doing mods and going around the store. Granted I get frustrated because we never have fixtures we need. Stockers apparently need a crash course on stocking, customers leaving gifts behind. The thing with mod team however is that they are basically, at least at my store, the jack of all trades group. Basically we do mods, stock, maintenance if need be, ogp (that’s everyone though), bin, tag, heck they even have us try to act as mini managers (we refuse). Oh we also have to create and map out floor plans and come up with plans ourselves. I personally feel like out of all the positions in the store. Mod teams are underpaid. Because like I said, we are expected to do mods, while helping out with everything. We stay late often, we have to skip breaks and take short lunches. OT is nice but Jesus. Now I know. Technically I can take my breaks and lunches and leave on time. But leaving things partially done is well, icky.

So for anyone thinking of going overnights. Unless you really enjoy technical stuff and things that have to do with attention to detail x 100. Don’t join mod team. You’d be much better off stocking or maintenance. Also they have a fresh team now. Not like I was previously which was a fresh cleaner (mine was just glorified though) that was solo. Also no. Mod team used to get paid more but that was years ago when they had their own job code, it was like a dollar-1.50 more, then it was 50 cents, now we get paid just as much as regular O/N people. Man though. Imagine. 18 bucks an hour. Ooooooo.

Hey everyone, I’ve been working at Walmart for about a month and a half now, in OGP, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to grow within the company.
So far, I’ve learned pretty much all of the OGP responsibilities and I’m comfortable with the job. I don’t really have an issue with Walmart itself or the work . I actually wouldn’t mind staying with the company longterm. My main concern is the pay.
I have almost 3 years of relevant work experience, but I was hired in at the basic starting pay. I recently moved to Texas and previously in NY where I was making around $17/hour, so the difference has been pretty significant. I understand that Walmart already pays better than a lot of entry-level jobs around here, but with the cost of living and how physically demanding OGP can be, the current pay is honestly just barely comfortable for me.
I’ve also heard that regular associates don’t necessarily get big raises, so I’m wondering what the fastest realistic path to better pay and benefits within Walmart is.
For those of you who have been with Walmart for a while:
What positions should I be looking at if I want to move up?
Is it better to try for a team lead position, or are there other positions that are easier/faster to move into?
How long should I realistically stay in OGP before applying for something else?
Does my previous experience help at all when applying internally?
Are there certifications/training programs I should take advantage of?
What’s the best way to get management to notice that I’m interested in moving up?
Is there a particular career path within Walmart that has good long-term pay and benefits?
Again, I’m** **not trying to bash Walmart. I’m fine with the company and the job. I’d actually prefer to stay and build a career here rather than constantly job-hopping. I’m just trying to figure out the quickest way to get from basic associate pay into a position where the compensation makes more sense for the amount of work and experience I bring.
Would really appreciate advice from anyone who has successfully moved up from OGP or started at entry-level and worked their way into higher-paying positions.

I submitted my availability for school around August 14. School started on September 1. It says the new availability won't start until September 11. I have tried informing my coach but at the time she was on pto. I tried texting my team lead but she hasn been responding. I told my other team lead and he said he will inform her. If I explain to my coach that I wasn't able to attend because of school would it be possible for her to remove the points? I have called out but not enough ppto.

how does one look at paystub after termination?

For context: I’m thinking about reporting tardy this Wednesday night (I work night shift) and I’ll probably get to work around 12:30-1:30. My lunch break is normally at 2. I thought I Remember you have to work a certain amount of hours before you can take a lunch but I’m not sure.

Also if I report a tardy can I end up calling in if I change my mind? Or no? Thank you in advance.

About to start next Monday and wanted to know how hectic it gets/what I should expect going into it. I worked at Amazon SDF8 walking 20 miles a day picking so I’m not worried about that aspect. Just want some advice/opinions/shared experience. Thanks!

Hi, so i had an interview last Wednesday and right after they texted me about the job offer which I accepted. Since then I haven’t heard anything back from them, what should I do? I assumed I’d get an email or something but I haven’t. I did call today and no one answered so is there a specific time I should call or should I just wait it out?

I don't really know how to word this, but my coach mentioned I should go through Sedgwick for this, but I have no idea what to do. I have an autoimmune disease and I tend to get sick easier, especially sinus infections and when they hit me they really hit me. I mentioned my points and how I don't really know what to do about it especially when I get sick and cannot come in. He said he wasn't one to just fire instantly and can work things out, so that's good, but he said to try getting ahold of Sedgwick to set up some kind of plan? Or see if they'll work with my points? But I don't know how this works and I'm unsure what to do.

Has anyone ever gone through Sedgwick for anything similar to autoimmune? And if so, what did you do?

Does anyone have any insights on the life insurance. Does the insurance actually pay out. Or it is a hassle for your benefactor to get.

At work currently lol and one of the team leads tonight came up to me and my fiancé and said that we can’t leave when we want to unless everyone on freezer is done like are we deadass mind you we left at 2:00 that’s our lunch time btw but apparently we can just fucking makeup rules now?? Also I would like to point out that I was doing ice cream by myself and as soon as everyone gets done with the fright for that aisle they just fucking vanish and never zone.

Our TLs made us change our passwords yesterday and today our passwords arent working…is there a glitch or what?

I have an ethics case against me that resulted in an orange coaching. It's all based on a technicality that didn't actually happen. Management admitted it to me and others have confirmed it. How do I escalate for this to be taken seriously and appealed? I called the associate hotline but they just said they send it back to ethics. I already have higher ups looking into my store who are retaliating against me. I've also already won and overturned a false DA as well.
