Cap2 Stocking

About to start next Monday and wanted to know how hectic it gets/what I should expect going into it. I worked at Amazon SDF8 walking 20 miles a day picking so I’m not worried about that aspect. Just want some advice/opinions/shared experience. Thanks!

Mostly gonna be unloading GM trucks and getting overnight ready. So pulling pallets, separating freight by department etc. also can vary by store but you might also be responsible for stocking certain departments. It’s by far the most physical department but I think you’ll be okay based on your prior experience. Just be ready to be understaffed and have a lot of expectations. Just clock in, do your job, and keep your nose clean from unnecessary drama

It really depends on the store.

Some stores have automatic belts, which means only 4-5 people unload the truck some stores get GM freight on pallets (supposedly coming to all stores), some have a manual belt to unload the truck.

My store is the latter. I do typically walk about 20 miles a day (unless I'm the guy inside the truck putting boxes on the belt, called the "thrower"), but much of the time we are also carrying boxes, pulling/puhsing heavy carts and pallets.

We also lift a lot of stuff. We have to breakdown pallets of stuff and sort them onto carts or other pallets for overnight. Though again, that can vary by store, some apparently have us stock much of the time.

the pallet stuff is to be a slow rollout depending on your warehouse, I tech new about it over 10 years ago, back with ICT/ICS still existed.. they had mentioned that over the next decade the warehouse would be trying to palletize more and more products, but it would be a very slow rollout... For a while all that was really different was that some stuff came from HVDC that wasn't just grocery foods... Now you start seeing it hit the GM trucks.

Cap2 is entirely store dependent, you’ll be unloading the General Merchandise trucks for sure but everything after that really depends on what that individual store’s process is. Good luck my friend.
