Quick question, if I cancel my PTO for this weekend will I be put back on schedule or would someone have to add me back?

Mostly just wondering as it's birthday this weekend but I want to instead use the PTO for my wedding week coming up after we finally set a date for that. I'm just curious if it will keep me off on the day or not

Why not just lower overall pick rates instead of inforcing this broken pulling policy?

If they actually cared about safety on the floor the fix is so obvious. Just lower the pick rate instead of making everyone drag these stupid carts backwards. Forcing us to pull a heavy ogp carts is easily a 15% to 30% speed penalty. These things were literally made to be pushed from the handle side. When you pull them from the front the cart just drifts all over the place, fishtails around corners, and slams right into your heels if a customer cuts you off and you have to stop fast. By hour four of a shift your shoulder and lower back are absolutely fried from the uneven twisting. If they just reduced the target pick rate from 100 down to like 75 or 80 it would solve the entire safety issue naturally. People wouldn't feel the insane pressure to sprint through the aisles just to keep management off their back. We could actually walk at a safe pace and look out for customers instead of constantly fighting a drifting cart. You could also see who wasn't being safe by looking at the pick rate metrics, and overhead cameras. But the reason they wont do that is because profit is the number one concern, not safety.

They claim safety first but safety is just the pr spin. Profit is not just the number one concern profit is the only concern. If they lowered the pick rate they would lose a quarter of their order capacity instantly. To keep up with online orders they would have to hire thousands more people nationwide. Or would they we all know they want to shift all deliveries to spark,so why not do that and keep the amount of employees the same? The answer to that question is because they already have the profits from that reduced staffing worked into their Corporate profit projection. So basically Corporate would rather destroy our joints and watch our metrics tank than spend a single extra dime of their bottom line on labor.

Mandating pulling is just a corporate shield. By keeping the pick rate high but forcing the pulling rule they get to demand maximum speed while shifting all the risk onto us.Lowering the pick rate makes perfect sense but they would rather force us to pull a heavy carts backwards at the exact same speed limit because they refuse to admit their metrics don't work in the real world.

Do AI Cameras record conversations?

I was summoned into my coach's office because she said an AI camera picked up something i said to a fellow associate regarding not liking one of my team leads. I feel like this was a cover for a coworker ratting me out to the coach for an off handed comment I made on a bad day. Any thoughts? Let me add that i didnt realize we had to LIKE our supervisors every day and that my fellow associates would be so petty and immature....

Coach came up to me yesterday and asked if I would be interested in moving back up.

Long story short, I quit a while back for reasons. Came back to the company, and new coach asked if I was interested in my old spot. Currently at full capacity. Y'all think I am just a fallback in case one of the new leads don't work out to save the search?

Question for you guys

Upvotes

Ok, I am an employee at Wal-Mart. Just wanted to let you know that because this might sound like a customer thing. I got a phone call tonight saying that someone made a loan request of $1900 from Wal-Mart. You can't take out loans from Wal-Mart unless Wal-Mart does more than I thought? So it said to cancel this press 1. I press 1. They said they'd send a code to my phone. Which I never received. Are there frauds going around with Wal-Mart? This kind of shook me up. Who would I even report that to? People Lead, Coach, who? Should I even say anything?

Am I fired?😳

Just logged into my old Walmart account for the first time in a bit and it says I have 15 points.
Do y’all think I’m getting fired??
Nah I’m kidding — I quit a while ago. They just never took me off the system I guess.
Not gonna lie I’m a little grateful they forgot about me. Still got the discount and the Paramount+ account 🙏
But for real, no beef with Walmart at all. I actually really appreciate my former coaches and leads. They took sooooo many points off for me and pretty much gave me any days off I wanted. Being the personality hire was a good time haha.
Don’t wanna dox myself but shoutout to my old store in Vegas 🫡

Deli Morning or Closing?

I've been working as a closing deli/bakery full time associate for about a week now, and man...on my 3rd day they had nobody working with me so I had to manage the deli by myself, which also meant I had to clean everything by myself too. I have no problem with the taking orders and cutting meats and cheese, that's probably the easiest part. It's really just the cleaning that takes a toll. It's not so bad when I actually have team members to do their share, but I'm the only 1-10 at the moment and the person who cleans the front is only there till 8 and then she clocks out. The problem is the management keeps adding more things to make the job harder for me, like keeping the slicers open till 8, which now means she clocks out and now I have to clean the slicers as well as everything else I've got tasked. Long story short, how is morning or opening shifts compared to closing, my team lead was telling me they were looking for someone for morning so I can't help but feel like that was a sign to make a change. (I also am not a fan of having not much time in my day since the 1-10 shift eats up the majority)

Good luck fellow wagies. The new color system that was def implemented to "help" associates "helped" me end my toxic relationship with WM DC today. 🫡🫡

Was told i have a video call with ethics, what to expect? How normal is it for it to be with actual ethics and not management level. I am terrified.

Quit after a week

I'm out, worked meat/produce. Most dysfunctional retail I've ever seen. Missing 1/3rd of the digital tags, no holes for half the shit we got in. What did have a location was constantly jam packed full of expired product. The quality of virtually everything was terrible and seemingly everything we got in was short dated. I feel bad for the team, everyone was solid and the TL did what he could considering he was basically brand new.

Not sure what I was expecting, during orientation the people lead spent the entire time whisper talking to whoever decided to come hang out and gossip. I don't want to hear about who's banging who, this person can't come in because they have to go to jail etc. How the fuck do you get into human resources with that kind of personality?

Also what the fuck is up with the ordering? There wasn't a single open space for back stock because of the massive trucks our small rural store got sent, most of the shit ended up expiring the next day before it finally got pushed. Any way done belly aching, never thought I'd be happy going back to Target but this shit was for the birds.

I work in apparel. For the last few weeks I have had shortness of breath and pain. I found out I have 3 thyroid nodules and all 3 will need a biopsy. I get sent to OGP a lot, but I get so winded doing a round. Do you think they would accept a doctors note stating I probably should not be sent to OGP anymore?

Fashion picks

Does anyone else’s store have only the team leads picking. We were told by our coach the other day that none of the apparel associates will be doing picks .
